I am having an issue dynamically displaying a table row.
What I would like to accomplish is when I click the show label, the 2nd row of the table is made visiable but it also remains in the table order (all td elements should align).
The below code works in IE but in Netscape, both the label and the text box apear in the first TD element instead of having the label appear in the first TD element and the text box apearing in the 2nd TD element. Does anyone know a way around this so the code works in both IE and Netscape? Code:
I'm trying to create a popup using DHTML (absolutely positioned DIV). The problem is when I use innerHTML to put the image inside my popup, in IE 6 the image usually doesn't show. Sometimes it does after trying the same popup multiple times, but most often the popup shows up blank, and I have to right-click the image and then select "Show Image" to actually display the image. This only happens in IE6, it works fine in IE7 or any other browser. Do you guys know of any trick that I'm missing here? You can see what I mean here: Code:

Alright. I want to make an onchange image thing; where someone can select a name from a form and it will display an image.
I want the form to have two options.
They can pick a MALE or FEMALE version (these two things in one box)
and below it, they can pick different PET versions of it.
So:
1st box: male, female
2nd box: pet one, pet two, pet three, etc

I'm not well versed in JavaScript, so I'm not sure how to do all the following things: (1) set up a horizontal menu with (2) + and - images as bullet points, such that clicking on the bullet points (3) changes + to - and vice versa while (4) a single-level drop down menu makes text disappear and appear.

I'm using onchange display to hide/show form elements depending on the value of a select box. It works perfectly well (I actually really adore it) for one select box, but I have another select box which I'd like to act similarly.

But when I go to add a second select (obj,id1,id2,id3,id4,id5,id6) with new "ifs" and id's, etc and so forth, neither work.
Is there any way to fuse them and get a second select to work the same?
I have a requirement in which, I need to capture a loan amount and the amount of down payment for that loan. According to the requirement, the user is going to enter enter the loan amount and then will enter the down payment in either percentage of the loan amount or an actual amount. I have designed a form to capture this information with three text fields, one each for loan amount, down payment in % and down payment in $.
So the user has the option of entering downpayment in $ or in %. If the user enter the down payment in $ then my code has to calculate the equivalent % value and populate the corresponding text field and vice versa. My question here is, what would be the best way to handle this
situation.
Shall i just use the OnChange event of the text field to handle this scenario? If I do that wont I be running into a loop?
I'm quite new to jQuery but love learning new tricks. I have a search box with a labelOver applied for the hint text and a select dropdown with 4 options. I would like to change the hint text depending on which option is selected.
Eg if the user selects "People" the hint text will read "eg. John Smith", if they pick "Year" the hint text will read "1985".
i'd like to know why when I clear a text input in IE via javascript I need to click somewhere on the screen for the change to appear?

I have a text field on my page, whose value I am setting through the jQuery cal

However, when I normally type into the text field, certain events occur as the text field value changes. These events do not occur when I set the value like above. So my question is, after I set the value, how do I invoke any onChange handlers?
Is there something that will update as soon as the user changes information in a textbox as appose to what onChange does, which is update once the focus has been taken off of the textbox? I am writing a custom cart and I am using AJAX to update the price according to how many they are ordering, I was hoping to have it update the price as soon as the user put in the volume, but it doesnt update until the user clicks somewhere else on the page.

"document.write" statements. Is there any way to do this without breaking

I'm looking for a script which can look up a number in a HTML document. There are 12 of these numbers on different HTML sites. I want to display them on one page without going through the trouble of looking at each HTML page to see that number.
The number on that page changes once in a while (without having a certain pattern) and therefore it would be usefull to display all 12 numbers on one page.

i have a bbcode for download links on my forum when this bbcode is parsed, it will display a link under the download link BUT only for the first 3 links.so basically i would need a javascript with a counter, that will display some text if the counter is > 3 and then add +1 to the counter normally i would EASILY do this with php, but i can't (bbcodes are parsed not parsed by server on phpbb, and you can't use php code in bbcodes)

I'm trying to go at this rather from an other point of view, instead of getting the cell information I am now trying to get the alt text value. from within the image tag. but being a novice at this well ive hit a wall. :confused: My code so far. searches though the table finding the sad images then i want it to display the Alt-text or an other value table_id or similar. also is there a fast way of putting in Alt text like A1,2,3 B1,2,3 etc like an automated loop. (might work on this after the main problem is dealt with)
