I have been tasked with building a slider for a client. Basically you have a window showing 2 thumbnails and some product info. When you click the arrows, it would slide to the next or previous set, WITH EASING. Normally this would be simple using jquery, but I cannot use a JS framework, so I have to use straight JS.
I'm trying to create a horizontal carousel/slider that will display my latest Tweet.
I started with some code I found to pull in my latest tweets via .json. I got that all set up and now I'm trying to integrate the bxSlider plugin to cycle through these tweets one at a time.
At this point I get all the tweets in a <li> that cycle through together. I've set up a jsfiddle to demonstrate what I have
I am using the following code for my banner. I have got 6 set up. what I want to do is specify the time each one appears for. I can chnage this for all of them but I want to set them indivdually?
Something similar to the navigation menu on [URL].. You hover over a link and a box appears below that spreads the width of the menu itself. Friend of mine told me it was using actionscript but I have no idea how to create a drop down box (not menu). My friend told me Dreamweaver has the ability t create a drop down box but I have no idea.
Also does anyone know how to create an image slider similar to the one on that site? A slider that fades from one image to the next with the navigation arrows on the left and right side and the dots on top left?
I have a client request I need a little advise on with an image slider.Client says;"There will be 4 photos that roll over two times each then stop on the Home Page photo then opens a text box over the left of the image"The part I'm not sure how to do is how to set the slider to stop on the Home Page image after the 4 images go through the animation two times.
I want to write a javascript that will add x number of cells in a table - each with an input form. In my case 1 row (3 cells) with input forms[code]...
What I am trying to do is create a slider that auto scrolls 3-4 images from right to left with no controls. And if the user hovers over it, it stops so they can read the content that is featured. Everywhere I search there are bunch of plugins i.e. easyslider, s3slider, etc. that have tons of code that is greek to me. I tried using the easyslider code and changing things around for it to do what I want, but I was unsuccessful.
I'm trying to update a table based on the results of a database query returned via JSON. My goal is to show the progress of a queue, removing entries that have completed. Firstly I need to populate a table with the results of the JSON. I have:
I am working on a personal project and I need to create a system where everything in the front end works via JSON. There will be one main index page and the rest of the content will be pulled dynamically. So I need to make sure that my system is seo-friendly, supports browser's back/forward buttons and each content section can be bookmarked. So far I have found the following plugins:[URL]First one is simple but no documentation at all and it doesn't look like it is being maintained anymore. Second one is also simple and it is better documented but it also looks like not being maintained anymore. Last one is well maintained but it is totally cowboy style and can't stand reading the documentation.
I have some DIV elements having some ID and content in it .. for example
I have submit button when I click this ... I should generate a JSON data structure like this
I need to POST this on submit button clicking.... I have seen some serializeArray() function but it works well for form based elements, I have created some string based structure in which I am printing the single quotes and double quotes like this fashion by creating a array and pushing itvar result = new Array();
Is there any short cut to create JSON with this datas ...
Does anyone know of a Javascript slider that can function like Adobe's gradient creator?I'm not actually making gradients, I just need similar slider capabilities.I have a defined date range, let's say it's January 1 to Januaray 31. I want to make a slider that allows my user to split this date range into multiple ranges. So one person can do:
Jan 1 to Jan 5, Jan 6 to Jan 12, Jan 13 to Jan 31 Another person can do: Jan 1 to Jan 21, Jan 22 to Jan 31. How many regions they create doesn't matter to me. The goal is to pull it off with a Javascript slider that works similar to Adobe's gradient creator. Handle's can be added by clicking and removed by pulling it away from the slider. Handle's can also slide around fairly liberally.
I have a form with two slider on it so the user can select an amount. The slider works fine and passes the values to email ok etc. but when the page is loaded there is "[object Object]" in box of the second slider. I can't find the problem with the code as it is the same for the first slider.
1.I found a Slider Toggle thats demonstrated here [URL] and it seems to work fine but only if the link is placed above the div that slides down.. im trying to make the div slide down from above my menu and i want 1 of the links on my menu to toggle the slider. how do i get it work to where I can place the link below the sliding div? 2. the script originally used .fader{opacity:0;display:none;} but I wanted the slider div to be visible if javascript was disabled so I added
jQuery(".fader").hide(); so its now <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function() { jQuery(".fader").hide(); $(".fadeNext").click(function(){ $(this).next().fadeSliderToggle() [Code]...
I have to change the slider color depending on its value, but I didn't manage to do it, I changed the attribute "background" of the class "ui-slider-range" this way : $("#slider.ui-slider-range").css("background","red"); Since I have three states (red, orange and green) I have to use three sliders, each one has one color, all hidden at the beginning then I show the appropriate slider when the value changes.
I've got the following problem: I have a Jquery slider and I want to disable the click on the slider. I only want to change the slider when I click and drag the pointer. Standard you can also click everywhere on the slider and the pointer will go to that point. That I don't want. .
I have a php code that creates a select combo box depending on some values stored in a database and I am trying to make it look nicer I found the jquery slider I found this but it does not work in the environment I am working (joomla) well, it does but it disappears as soon as I move the slider. so if I had
what is the best js framework for ajax ? first iam a beginner in ajax and js, i found a lot of frameworks but i didn't know which is the best.
And i heared that some of thease frameworks are not updated any more. I read a book called professional ajax with php and the book author was using a class library called zXml you can find it here but i found that the XMLDOM does not support opera browser it supports only IE and FireFox .
And I heared a lot about prototype class library but i didn't found tutorials using it you can found it here so iam unable to deciding which is the best updated cross browsers js framework for ajax.
I get that this question is going to be one of those questions where everybody defends the app they like the most, but I am asking for the reasons why rather than just a one product name answer, so here goes with the question:
What is the best Javascript Framework to use for Javascript RIA development and why?
i.e. Qooxdoo, ExtJS, Echo3, etc?
Now I know everyone is probably going to jump in and say Jquery, but personally I see Jquery and the likes as more of a "make plain website nice by adding animations etc" rather than for web applications development.
One of the great annoyances I have with JavaScript is the lack of a good consistent code library. Oh, there are a few code libraries scattered around for doing various things. The problem is that each of them have their own way of doing things. If we want to use more than one library at a time, we often end up duplicating code and working with different interfaces and practices that aren't necessarily compatible with each other...
So... isn't it about time that we have a Common JavaScript Framework?
I'm thinking of a standardised code library, mostly (but not entirely) built from the free code that is already out there. (I'm thinking of a LGPL core with independantly licensed extensions.)
I know of a few very cool projects that aim to make JavaScript development easier, more professional and to bridge the gap between browsers and environments. (To name a few: DynAPI, DOMAPI, Sarissa, 13th parallels' library, netWindows, bindows, ActiveUI, f(m).) But I don't know of any effort to bring all of these features into one common framework. Can we do anything about this?
I'm not exactly proposing that we form a group to design and implement a complete framework. I just think that, us, JavaScript developers should talk to each other more and agree on a few things. Then, I imagine being able to access this centralized, well designed library that is ready for serious (and less serious) development and the dream goes on...
I have been working with JS (client and server) for some years now and I'd like to bring more consistency to my code and spend less time writing lower level code. So I may be writing this email more out of wishful thinking than determined action. In any ways, I remain interested to support any effort that would lead me to better, well designed, programming.
I'm experienced with PHP and I'm familiar with JS syntax but still a beginner.
Now I want to learn AJAX And JS and I've looked at jQuery but it doesn't look like JS to me, I mean I'm sure it is but it looks to me like jQuery has a syntax of it's own and I want to learn not just a framework but also the underlying language.
So now my question is; what framework will be the best choice when that is my goal?
