View 1 Replies View RelatedI've seen websites that have things like feedback and an arrow facing up that either take you to the top of the page or opens a form to give your feedback.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have three buttons on a typical page (sample page: [URL].. One goes to the previous page, one to the next, and one up a level. Can I link these buttons to 3 arrow keys to simplify navigation for the user? I thought this would be a common task, but I cannot find any canned code on the web to do it. I can code simple html, but don't know javascript.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am trying to trigger an event once the user clicks the browsers back/forward buttons, I have built a system just like facebook where if the user has javascript turned on they get the full feature of the site which includes fast switching for example if someone goes to this page "example.com/index.php" and click a link to contact.php it would change the url to "example.com/index.php#!/contact.php" but what I need to know is if there is any way to change the pages content when the user goes back and forth through the fast switch pages? something like "history.back !== -1" or something like that.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to make a gui for clients to edit a php page that displays html and javascript.
I want the user to be able to move html elements around and even edit it like add effects like fade in and out etc.
Then after all the changes I want to overwrite the existing php file that does this for that user. how can you make such changes and then save it to a file?
It's an html / javascript editor but using a gui instead of allowing them to directly touch the code. It would be a security risk if I allow such a thing. So I need to program a interface that would make such changes and save them to file.
Like how can you delete and add new javascript code to the file?
I can not this code in my web page. Could you please check it ans say how I can run. I try the code using html test page but failed.
<script language="javascript"><!--
document.write('<iframe src="http://www.juenpetmarket.com/moduls/banner/banner_reklamiframe.aspx?

Based on the lack of responses to the last hole (which I am attributing to one of the following:
a. The hole being too difficult,
b. It being overly time consuming, or
c. People not wanting to do it)
I have decided to take a step back for this hole.
Create a Javascript include function. This function should include a javascript file (when given a URL) into the current page assuming it wasn't already included in the page (either via the include function call or by HTML). If the file is already included the function should just return.
This function should either take a file name/ path to file or a full URL as a parameter. If it is a filename/ path the function should include the file from the base URL of the current site (such as [url]). If it is a full URL just include it.
Make sure you don't allow files to be included multiple times, we don't want that!
Using the following code example from Scott Robbin, which simply allows for separate html pages to slide in and out of the one screen, I wanted to expand this by sliding in some DHTML.
Here is the page-sliding code used: [url]
DHTML animated code: [url]- [url]
But, at best, only the images show, placed still and next to each other. As you will see the DHTML is a rotating set of imagery. Something in the page-sliding code seems to be preventing that DHTML animation from displaying as it should. Like I said the images will be recognised, but they don't display - I've even tried hard linking to the images.
Here's my page: [url]
Here's the page which I have on my server, the one I would like to have slide in: [url]
To see the sliding animation click the bottom "What cachet does" option that slides the right hand pane in.

I'm doing a tutorial from a book to drag and drop elements on a page into a shopping cart. I had everything working fine in IE until I added the function for key presses. What it should do is when 1 is clicked, the first item is moved into the cart, and if I press 1 again the item goes back to where it started.
The function that's giving me problems is keyDrag (at the bottom). I included the other functions in case you need to see them because keyDrag calls them. The error I'm getting in IE is "object expected" and it's at the line marked below in the keyDrag function.
What happens when I press 1 is the item that's supposed to go to the cart appears at the cursor as if I clicked and dragged it. But if I drag it manually into the cart, and then press 1, it will snap back to its original place without problems.
Code:
<script type="text/javascript" language="javascript">
if(isNS) document.captureEvents(Event.MOUSEDOWN | Event.MOUSEMOVE | Event.MOUSEUP);
document.onmousedown = grabIt;
document.onmousemove = moveIt;
document.onmouseup = dropIt;

can you pop up a window on key press? for example, if you press the letter "P" a window will pop up, how do you do that?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have two divs. One of them contains an input field the other a list of suggestions. What I would like is the ability for the user to come down in the second div with the use of the arrow key an also scroll through the list of suggestions. This is how it looks:

<div id="second">

How do i get the 'keypress' event to capture only the 'enter' key
event? The 'keypress' event captures all key press events.
input.addEventListener('keypress', sendButtonPressed, true);
I followed the tutorial from phpacademy found here:
part1 (youtube)
part2 (youtube)
part3 (youtube)
The tutorial is great and I successful got the code to work correctly. I am working on adding additional functionality. When a list of suggestions pop up. If the user presses the up or down key it cycles through the list highlighting the focused suggestion (Just how google works). I currently have two problems.
First is I have a variable set to determine which position of the list should be highlighted. It should increment by 1 if the down key is pressed. However it increments by much more for some reason.
Second problem is I can't figure out how to keep the suggestion highlighted. It will only highlight when a key is pressed down.
Java Script
Code:
var suggestionPosition = 5;
function clickSearch(){
$("#searchBox").keyup(function(event){
if(event.keyCode == 13){

I want to detect the double-press of the space key. However, I want a single press of a space key to have a different function. The double-tap of space should only count if the taps of space are no more than, say, a half second apart.
For example: The user hits space once, and javascript begins performing one action. 1/3rd of a second later, they hit the space bar again, and since that is within our threshold of 1/2 of a second, the action that began because the user hit the spacebar once should be cancelled, or undone (which I can write later) and the action when the user hits the spacebar twice should begin.
i am submitting a form in javascript and i want it to submit on key press submit, but it wont work. here is my code:
<script type='text/javascript'>
function login(evt){
if (evt){var keyCode = evt.which ? evt.which : evt.keyCode;}else{keyCode='';}
if ((evt == '')||(keyCode == 13)){

Ive this line of code, which is a send button, but I'm trying to get a pop up message once I press it saying "are you sure you want to send" but where ever I put it in it doesnt work
Code:
<td colspan="1" align="right"><input type="button" value="Send Invoices ยป" onclick="document.checkmail.submit();"></td>
I KNOW I should know this, but it isn't working, so clearly I don't. On a form displaying an image, I have a javascript script that looks at the arrow keys.It's working. Everytime I hit a key it goes through the script.
My problem is that once I hit one of a set of keys I want to leave the form and go to the php code so I can get the next correct image. Is it just a submit? If so, what am I doing wrong?
[Code]...
I know it's hitting the script because my alert comes up. But I'm NOT leaving the form and running the php... What do I need to change?
how to create an increment once you press a button. It has to be kind of like this:
$i = 1;
if ("#button").click(function() {
add one to $i;
alert($i);
});
Every time you press the button, the value $i should increase by +1. So if I press the button 5 times that should give the value 6.
I think I have to use a loop or something but I don't know how.
I am trying to submit form on press Enter but its does not work in IE8, works in chrome, and mozilla, I dont know what I made the mistake in my coding.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm really new to Javascript, and really know basically nothing about it. What I want to do is press a skip button on a page, then wait for the next page to load completely before pressing the skip button. I want the script to stop after the first five skips, though. I plan on making this into a GreaseMonkey script for my own personal use, if that info is needed, too.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI need to capture the delete key event onclick on DIV. I wrote the below code using jQuery.
$("#DIVID").keydown(function(event){ // delete key works with IE
if(event.keyCode == 46)

This is working fine in IE but not on Mozilla, Safari.
