Oct 13, 2009I'm having some problems understanding the append() function. What I'd like to do is select an element using it's ID and add a row to the table with a HTML form element. The table is dynamically generated using a Django template ( form.as_table() ) so I'm not able to alter the original HTML markup too much.

Jul 27, 2011I am not completely new to JQuery, but not a beginner either. Anyway, I want to do some advanced stuff like creating everything dynamically with JQuery. So here's the rough concept:
Step 1: Information get's collected
Step 2: Information will be written in divs, the divs will get an ID and will be displayed with .append()
Step 3: Setting css-propertys with the div's ID.
I can't grab the div which I created with .append.
Actually I can't access anything which was created with .append - for example if I want to get an .attr() - I can't do it with these elements. Is there a workaround or am I wrong:

Feb 15, 2012i am trying to append more than 2 variables in URL using location.href in javascript. Here is the code:
location.href='Add_New_Project.php?project_name=' + project_name + '&cat=' + val + '&prj_desc=' + project_desc;
The page is suppose to refresh when the code executes, but it wouldn't. Whereas if i try it with only two variables minus these ('&prj_desc=' + project_desc), it actually reloads and give me the right answer:

Jan 4, 2009I am trying to append a value in jQuery, and whilst this is a simple task with .append() it won't work like I wan't it too.I have a sign up page, with 'Name' as a field. Depending on the value of this (empty or having valid characters in it) either a helpful hint, or a congratulatory message will be displayed. This is handeld in an function, triggered on the .blur() of the input field. What I want to do however, is place the value of this input into the congratulatory text. Of course, running this from the .blur() function, doesn't work, as each time the input is blurred, the value get's added on an extra time. How can I get jQuery to add the value only once?I tried writting a couple of if / else statements, but I couldn't get it to work as I expected (it either didn't add them full stop, or continued the above behavior!).

I want to load completely file1.htm and, after that, to append file2.htm to the end of the file1.htm file, in the same browser's page.
I was thinking to make a function, called loadme, and to call that function like this:

What I don't know is how to make loadme to read the file2.htm file (I heard that JavaScript is not allowed to read files - is this true?) and how to append it to file2.htm.

some small amount of text to the all-text content of a <pre> node.
I suppose that I could extract the existing content, and replace
the <pre> node in question with a new <pre> node that has the
extended content. But the existing content is longish, and it
seems to me wasteful to rewrite it all just to have a small amount

Oct 10, 2010I am making a form where you can either upload images or link images and upload a video. The problem is that I want a or situation. I made javascript function that when you click one of the 3 images it will add in one item this could be a image link or uploaded image or a video. There is only one function that runs and inside that function has if statements to figure out which one image was clicked.
I have 3 images one is for image links one for uploading images and one for uploading video. the problem is that I want the user to append only image links and uploaded image or uploaded video.
I am only allowing 8 images to be uploaded or 1 video. This is a form that submits a message with either of the above but I only want to append only the images or the video but not both.

Im displaying a model screen of a div section that has been built with the .append method.
The modal works fine in FF and Chrome, but AS USUAL, IE is not working correctly. The data is not being appended to the div. When I put in in IE in IE8 mode it works fine.
