I have been working on favorite blog on my site. I have done this with radio button. But I want to do this with AJAX. Like it has on flikrs.com. If you click on favorite tag it will show the bright star or something that indicates its your favorite photo. Or if you again click on that star it ll become dull, like its no more of your favorite photo.
I am trying to show a price listing for differentpostcard sizes... i need to change the XMLurl in $.ajax({}); on aclick function i am using <dl> + css + jquery for my custom dropdown
Here is a sample HTML CODE
<dl id="sample" class="dropdown"> <dt><a href="#"><span> 4 x 6"</span></a></dt> <dd> <ul> <li><a href="#">3.5 x 2"<span class="value">3.5x2</span></a></li> <li><a href="#">4.5 x 2"<span class="value">4.5x2</span></a></li> </ul> </dd></dl>
I have a site where I'm using a home-grown social bookmarking tool. The user has an option to "Bookmark this page" to their browser.
My code works, but the problem is that when I dynamically grab the document.title, the browser (both IE and FF) tries to resolve any spaces or special characters so that when the favorite is stored in the browser, the bookmark reads:
"This%20Site%20Bookmark"
instead of:
"This Site Bookmark"
I feel like there must be a simple function to resolve spaces, but I'm coming up blank, no pun intended...:)
I am trying to call submit.php with ajax but nothing was happening. when I narrowed it down I found that http.status=500.everything i have read about this says that this is a server error but I can put other website in the same folder on the same server and it works fine.this is the ajax call
I am writing a contact form using jQuery AJAX POST and PHP. The form works well and sends the email. What I want to know is how to get the return values for error and success on the same page where the contact form is rather than having the message go to another page. I created a DIV called statusBox, and I would like all the messages printed there. Below is the fragment from the jQuery side. What do I need to do on the PHP side to get the values back?
I have a form that captures member registration details. In the admin section .. I would like to change the Status field of a record/s from NEW to PAYMENT DUE after 14 days from the data of submission. The status change should automatically trigger on the 15th day. So when the admin checks the list page he/she should be able to view the updated status field.
I am having a particular problem with my Javascript page, which should change the form that the user is at. Need to proofread my code to check for errors? The code does not change the form (Also it does not run the PHP page, or at least does not display its output in the loginStatus div):
<html> <head> <link href="style.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="screen" /> <title> PHP Hardcoded Login Script! </title> <script> function processLogin(form) { var user = form.user.value; var pass = form.pass.value; var url = "processLogin.php?user=" + user + "&pass=" + pass;
if (window.XMLHttpRequest) {// code for IE7+, Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Safari xmlhttp=new XMLHttpRequest(); } else {// code for IE6, IE5 xmlhttp=new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP"); } .....
Why this is not working? The page running this code can be found at: [URL] Another page without the signup form (that works) is at: [URL] The login for the pages is: user: john_doe pass:password
I have several drop down lists of links with one of the drop downs being a "My Favorites". My intent is that when the user clicks on a star image next to the links, it is cloned and appended to the favorites menu, where it can then be drag and drop sorted. To remove the link from the favorites menu, the user can either click on the "x" button to the right of the link on the favorites menu, or unselect the star on the main menus.
I have successfully cloned the link and appended it to the favorites menu by selecting the star and enabled the drag and drop sorting, but I am having trouble removing the link form the favorites menu when unselecting the star and when clicking on the "x". Here is what I have so far:
var me = ''; $('div.star').toggle(function(me){ var me = $(this).next('a').text(); $(this).addClass('favorite').next('a').clone(true).appendTo('ul#myFavs1').wrap('<li></li>').before("<div class='dragHandle'><img class='png' src='_images/dragHandle4.png' width='11' height='11' /></div>").after("<div class='remove' title='Remove from Favorites'></div>").attr('id', me); return me;}, function(me){[CODE]...
So, I clone the link, wrap it, add a drag handle and the 'x' button, give it an id of the text of the link which all works fine. I have a different part of the script that uses the drag handle to drag and drop the links...that works fine. The issues I am having are that unselecting the star does not remove the link from the favorites drop down and clicking on the 'x' does not even fire the alert. The z-index on the 'x' is higher than all the other elements in the li.
I'm making a script that requires cross-domain scripting to get the statuscode of other files. I'm currently using a small PHP script to relay the files from the remote server onto mine. If I want to get the files directly using AJAX, it is not allowed for obvious reasons. I don't want the actual files, I only want to get the status code of that file, and it is going to be either a 404 or a 301. I would've assumed that as the AJAX call is never attempted, the statusCode will be 0, and this is what the actual call variable returns.
However, in Firebug it shows the statuscode next to the request (404 or 301), even if, the call has never been made. Why is the statuscode appearing in Firebug but not in the statuscode variable?
I have a set of checkboxes that trigger events on a page. Clicking a checkbox triggers the event correctly and the checked attribute changes in the page source, but in the rendered browser view the checkbox status remains changed. If I load the page with the checkboxes checked, they always remain checked in the browser view. If I load the page with checkboxes unchecked, they always remain unchecked in the browser view.
If I remove the jquery code the checkboxes work as expected, but obviously don't trigger any events. I've tested this in both Safari and Firefox with the same results.

On another note, I'm having problems with the back button when using the forum. If I am looking through a multi-page search and click on a topic and then click the back button, I go to the first page of the search instead of the last page I was looking at. Similarly, when I first previewed this post and clicked "back" I was returned to the topic list instead of the compose-post page.
I want to make it so that when I click on something, it changes what document.onclick does.
This is a simplified version of what I'm trying to do:
Code: <div id="clickme" onclick="document.onclick = function(){ alert ('This should not be alerted on the first click'); }">Click here</div>
However, as you'll notice, the alert box shows up on the first click as well. The only way I have been able to get around this behaviour is to have the first onclick execute a timer that will then set the document.onclick after 1ms, however this seems very messy to me.
I try to find working example, but no luck.I need this very simply javascript to onClick change value and second click change value back and third click change value again back and so on..
function toggleRun(poly_num){ var btn = document.getElementById('runBtn'+poly_num); if (document.getElementById('runBtn'+poly_num).onclick) { if (run){
[Code]....
the function can only run once, so the idea is that the button either runs it the first time or reloads the page.
at the moment, the way it's working is that the button that's clicked changes its value to "Reload Page" but the others keep their original value, even though it reloads if you click them.
So I'd like a way to change the value of the rest of the buttons when one is clicked. Is that possible?
Here's the page [URL] if I didn't explain myself well enough.
I have managed to get my program running perfectly for outputting alert boxes, however instead of alert boxes I would like my image to change with an IF statement.
My main image is a pic with text saying Please enter Temperature. if the user enters a temperature it will display an alert saying HOT, MODERATE or COLD. I have made other images that basically say the same thing and I would like the appropriate image to replace the original image depending on the IF statement
I have commented out my alertboxes (which work) and replaced new code above that I can't seem to get working. On lines 21, 27 and 33.
<html> <head> <title>TempReader™</title> <script type="text/javascript"> //This is where we decare our function to validate the HTML form
[Code]....
My images are stored in the same directory as the HTML file and the img names are correct
I have this javascript code which I'm using for collapsible tables:
<html> <head> <script type="text/javascript"> function getItem(id)
[Code]....
So what I'm trying to do is display the image /path/to/plus when the table is closed, and then display the image /path/to/minus when the table is open.
i have a little problem with javascript ... and i´can´t find an answer for it. i have a php-fotogallery where users can add fotos to a zip file an download multiple fotos at once. but i didn´t what that the site has to reload every time a user clicks the "add foto to zip" button - so i´ve the first time contact with javascript wich changes a little icon on the site wich is generated by php and this php sets the variables for the zip-file.this works great - now here´s the problem an the question
