1) I'm using a lightbox script (namely URl... but I don't think that matters in this case).
2) Since the lightbox scripts appears to intercept the 'onclick' event, I have to use 'onmouseup' to call the ajax, which is not a problem, just a note.
3) My link is: <a title="Click to View Logo" onmouseup="getLogo('44');" href="#displayimage" rel="displayimage" class="lbOn">
4) The javascript function 'getLogo' calls an ASP page which then feed the logo back to a div with ID "displayimage"
5) I have tried to add the following code to the ASP page to close the lightbox, but it does not work: <a href="#" class="lbAction" rel="deactivate"><img src="_images/button_close.png" /></a>
6) If I add the code above to the page itself (rather than from the ajax call), it successfully closes the lightbox, so I know the code itself is fine
Can I use the lightbox to call multiple DIV tags? Since the ajax call loads the content of the ASP page into the div (replacing what may have been there of course), I cannot place the "close" script into the "displayimage" div.
I've got a situation where I'm updating a MySQL DB with PHP but because of how the language works I need to do the following.
The "main page" will open a remote page where the user will add/edit/modify data then on the confirmation page, there needs to be a close button. However, before the window is closed, I want it to reload the "main window" so that they can see the changes they made. I've been digging through the google groups and JS sources on the net but I'm just not finding answers for a JS newb like myself.....
What I want to be able to do is to display this div with Lightbox but do it from JavaScript. For example, from the body onLoad event I would like to call a JavaScript function that opens a Lightbox.
Then, the Lightbox is going to contain a few fields so I was going to have JavaScript validate that the user entered all the fields. If they did, I then want to close the Lightbox. If they did not, I will display an alert message. I can get all of this to work except having JavaScript close (actually, it is hiding) a Lightbox div. Can someone help me figure out how to hide the div from a JavaScript function?
What I downloaded was Lightbox Gone Wild which I think is also called Leightbox.
I have seen this script a few places, not sure it was jquery but I figured it was.
I am looking for a script that opens a lightbox when someone moves the mouse over to close the browser window or change the url or type in the search bar, a lightbox pops up.
I spend a bit of time searching and can't find the script.
I'm trying to load a remote URL (or rather just test to see if a remote page exists).
This works just fine:
But swap in a remote URL and I get nothing:
I don't actually need to load the remote URL, just determine if it's accessible (using it to test whether a user is connected to intranet or not). But I can't even seem to get to that.
I'm actually not sure if this isn't possible to begin with, but thought I should ask as it's better safe than sorry. On a number of my pages, I use jQuery.ajax() using the json data type. For example:
[Code]...
Would it be possible for people to execute this script from their own server? If yes, is there any preventative measures I can take to block any remote execution of the script? And, are there any other safety concerns I need to be aware of?
I am a systems analyst and network admin for [url].... We already have an exisiting site, which has JS. We now need to add a lightbox effect onload that will basically overlay the page in grey and focus on a banner before you can access it. Thus, pushing everyone who visits to read a banner. I would also like to add an "x" graphic in the top right corner of the projected image to close the banner and return to veiwing our site.
I wanted to ask how it is possible to get error messages from the server till it is implemented in the remote method.What do you think is the less work intensive alternative.I also wanted to ask if i have two fields A and B, and the values of B depends on A. How do i make it with the plugin and the remote method ?I saw that there is a way of writing custom methods:URL...But how do i combine it with the ajax calls?
Recently, I've tried to use FancyBox (a zooming lightbox script - affects every image link of a given parent id) on a page where contents are loaded dynamically with jquery.
I init fancybox at the loading of the needed section - then, I click on the image link, fancybox's darker overlay appears for a sec, but then the target image itself loads (as if no script would be there). As it seems, FB was initalized, but is somehow not working... js debug shows nothing wrong.
Since the whole page is loaded dynamically with jquery, I can't really separate the problem - the script is working good when it's in static context. Before, I used a quite similar script FancyZoom, that worked without problem...
I've uploaded a working template below, if someone could give it a quick peek: [url] (on the site click the green, then the purple rectangle. the init can be found in js/script.js, in InitThree function)
I will explain this the best way that I can. I have a form that can be filled out and once the submit button is pressed, a lightbox pops up to prompt a thank you page. The thank you page is called verify.php. Basically when the user fills out a form and presses the "submit" link, a lightbox pops up saying "thanks". I need the form values to be displayed in this lightbox. Since my values aren't actually being sent using the POST method, the verify.php is does not show my confirming value box (ex: Thank You Brad Heckle (this is the $fullname variable) for submitting an application.). This verify.php is called using AJAX and displays without loading a new page on the index.php when "submit" is pressed. Since php needs the variable to be passed through the POST method so that it can grab them, AJAX is causing some problems.
Click on the first image. then navigate through the ligthbox using 'Next' button.Sometimes the images appears distorted.Is is due to the Lightbox ajax rendering of the images?
I implemented on my custom cms ajax pagination for my content. In that content ofcourse there are some images inside and after adding ajax pagination lightbox pop up effect doesn't work. I suppose that the problem is in javascript method in head block of my page which is following
HTML Code: <script src="ajax_req.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script>htmlData('pagination2.php', 'page=1')</script> and I call lightbox scripit
I currently have a slideshow working on my client's site, but I can't get lightbox to work properly on it. [URL]...
Is there a way to fix the existing slideshow to work with lightbox? Or is there another way of doing this (keeping the same look that is currently in place)?
I have a script who work perfectly as an inline script :
<script>
I have tried to externalize it :
But when I click on the "lnk.addnote" link, the dialog is shown and immediately closed. In fact i can see the "ADD FIRED" alert, then the "CREATING DIALOG" alert but nothing appear. And finally I got this message into the Firebug console "$ is not defined".
I want to trap the window.close() event when the user clicks on the close button of the browser using javascript. Can anyone shed light on this problem ?
As per the rather long subject, I would like to (well, my boss would like me to...) on a popup have one button to close and another to close but then redirect to another page.
Suppose,closing the browser through Browser Close Button(Top Right Corner cross(x) button), i have to execute some ASP script , for that, in body onUnLoad Event calling a fucntion called CloseWin(e,frm), it is working in Internet Explorer successfully , But in FireFox not working. how to solve this problem. or any other way to get the co-ordinates of browser close button( code for both IE and Firefox).
code follows
function CloseWin(e,frm) { //frm required for my program var bButtonClicked = false;
I am remote scripting using javascript to an XML gateway, the XML file I get back changes state i.e. either the car registration number exists (and it includes certain fields in the XML) or it doesn't exist (and it doesn't include certain fields).
When my code tries to display the result I am getting the 'object required' error because I am trying to access an xml element which doesn't exist.
For example this line would break if the plate didnt exist but work perfectly if it did:
var fuel = response.getElementsByTagName('Fuel')[0].firstChild.data;
Is there anyway to stop it throwing an error if it doesn't exist and just set a regDoesntExist flag or something?
I have a PHP script that displays my online status and shows a window if I am online, or doesn't show anything if I am offline.
I'd like to include the content of this remote PHP file inside a web page using JS. I have created an xmlHttpRequest script to do that but it doesn't work as expected... It should work just like the status.php file, but instead, the content doesn't show up in IE, and in Opera, it it stuck in the upper-left corner...
A newly added, not-quite-wanted function of my job is remotely debugging JavaScript errors on other people's web applications. I have tried finding a JavaScript debugger that would allow me to do that, but other the Microsoft Script Debugger, I couldn't find any other.
Are there such programs? Basically, what I'd like to be able to do is trace commands step by step and view the values of certain variables.
I was unable to figure out how to get Microsoft Script Debugger to work. I read the documentation and executed it, but I keep getting "Syntax error" messages whenever I want to see the value of a variable. Add to that the fact that I am not a developer and I do not know JavaScript (other than to read it, which is enough for me to figure out what the problem is) and you see my problem.
I have read about the option of adding message boxes all over the place, but this would not work out for me either, since I would need to make changes to this code on the web server, where I don't have access, and it would be a lot more tedious.
For those skeptical as to why I still expect to be able to debug problems:
The problems are caused in most cases by the proxy we add on their web servers, and they are due to values being changed on the fly. I only need to find out where the code breaks and read the values of the variables, which gives me the solution ("do not change this variable").
I know javascript has no local or server based access to the disk however I was wondering if one can read a remote page and take its html <TITLE> value...
My guess is no but thought I'd check/ask anyway...
