JQuery :: Adding Slide And Pause To Continuous Scrolling Carousel
Apr 28, 2011I'm using jMyCarousel [URL] for a 100% width horizontal infinite thumbnail scroller, but can't figure out how to add one last piece of functionality. Here is the feature in its current stage of development: [URL]. I've got the hover-to-pause part working (clunkily in terms of backend but it works), but now I need the house image to start centered on the page and pause there for two seconds, and then automatically slide with easing effects to center the next image for two seconds, and so on, rather than have one long continuous scroll. I'm very new to JQuery and if this project wasn't deadlining in a few days, I'd totally study a JQuery slider to see how they do the thing I need and try to adapt it for this carousel, but I'm afraid it's out of my league right now.

Image Carousel Lands On Same Item Upon Page Refresh
Nov 10, 2009I have inherited an image scroller that works perfectly. That said, the PM said the client now wishes that upon refresh or a new landing on that page - the initial image would randomize. I thought it would be cake to fix this. Not so. I have tried Math.random at every conceivable place in the function. I get bumpkis. Here is where I think the problem is . . . if anyone would like to take a crack at this.

Stretch Top Banner Image To Whole Of Page
Jun 17, 2010I need to stretch my banner Image at the top of the page to the whole of the page. The development computer on which I was working for this site displayed it correctly. Today when I opened the code in another compter the top banner image didn't display itself for the whole of the page. It just contracted to the left side. I am wondering how do do it. Well I used background-image:100% but that didn't work(CSS3 compatibility issues). Any tips to stretch this top banner to the whole of the page in every computer.

Working JS Fading Image Banner / How To Make Images Linked
May 18, 2010I am very new to javascript and have only just started looking into it after working quite a bit in html, css and php.I have a working image banner on my webpage that switches between 1 of 2 images every 7 seconds. This all works fine but i now need to make the second image 'pcm2.jpg' a clickable link where as the first image 'pcm.jpg' which starts off the image rotation in the html page has no link. I have tried using 'document. rollbanner.href =' inside the function but that hasn't helped. Is that because the first image in the html page has no href value to begin with? If so how do i get around this as i dont want the first image to have a link, only the second one.

Switching Banner With Image Click - Page Itself Is Long And Must Be Vertically-scrolled To See Entire Content
Jun 11, 2009I have a banner that has image navigation on the lower right. The navigation links are images which, when clicked, change the banner without reloading the page. The actual switching of the banner is working when each image is clicked.
However, my problem is this:
The page itself is long and must be vertically-scrolled to see the entire content. Because of the scrolling, the banner could appear anywhere vertically on the page. And whenever I click the banner navigation hrefs, the page "jumps" so that the banner is at the top. The page should really stay in the fixed position.
I'm not sure how to set it up so that no matter where the banner section is on the scrolled page, that the page stays in the same position when the navigation is clicked.
My href's in that navigation are set up as :
Do I need something in my script so that the page won't jump? Or am I missing something in the HTML?

Adding Mouseover Properties To An Existing Image
Mar 26, 2010i have a image around 995x700. and i'm about to change up a couple things on a site i'm working on and want to add a mouseover event (or something like that) to it. i certain areas, i would like the user to mouse over and see a new image rise up in front of the existing image, and then go away when they "mouse off" (i guess that's the term). i know there is a possible way through jscript or ajax.

Nov 16, 2010Am just starting a new site and this morning noticed my header background image (logo) was missing.
Started out with normal CSS/HTML navigation menu.

and the logo was gone. Not exactly sure at what point it disappeared yesterday as I didn't notice it missing until this morning. The navigation is about the only point of difference so I think this is the issue but have no idea why.
Overlap Images In A Carousel?
Dec 15, 2009I'm working on modifying a jQuery plugin that makes an image carousel. I like how it is not with one exception... I'd like the images to overlap one another. So the main image that is displayed will overlap the ones on either side of it somewhat.
You can view the source of the demo I posted to look at the JS for it... I used the "moving boxes" plugin and already modified it a lot.

1) add caption text below each image in the form of "1 of 5, 2 of 5, etc."
2) make the current image clickable to go to respective URL of my choice

Sep 27, 2011I'm planning on making a website which is mainly just a gallery of images.
The site will essentially look like one page with a jCarousel on it, when the user clicks left or right on the carousel, I would like the URL to change but for the animation not to get interupted.
I would also need to change some HTML on the page too, essentially each image will have a Facebook 'like' button and that will need to change to the corresponding URL.
The carousel is going to be database driven and dynamically built up with potentially 1000's of images, so I'm not sure what the best technique for this would be? I'm building it in ASP.NET / Ajax and using the SlideJS carousel [code]...
