I don't know why it doesn't work because the page has been loaded with the JS file, but as soon as the link is added afterwards it doesn't work. I take it this is because it doesn't know where to find the JS, but how can I overcome this?
I'm using an ajax function to call multiple php files to the same HTML web page. Dividends must be dynamic the data is stock prices. It seems that the last stock price is only updating the other 9 are not is their a limitation to the number of ajax functions used in a single web page. I have a table that i load into the document via ajax. the table shows a list of times. every row has a button that when clicked should call another AJAX function. However when clicking the link nothing happens. If I put a link in the original document myself and ask it to do this, it works fine, but becuse this is generated code, this option will not do.

I am running a program that makes > 50,000 ajax calls. Each time an ajax call is made a temporary function is created (by jQuery, not by me):

So I end up with tens of thousands of these undefined global variables. I believe this is cause my script to fail and I am wondering if there is an easy way to fix this short of either editing the jquery library to delete these (can this be done?) orwritingmy own ajax function.... All other variables are getting smaller at the point of failure which isconsistentregardless of other changes made to the program.

I am trying to include two functions in an onchange when the user selects a new value from a select list: It is a quite big form form - There are one select list, when changed - TWO other fields in the form needs to change accordingly: I put the information back using ajax and place it within a <span id="blah"></span>; I have checked the span ids, and they are correct! I'm having trouble calling javascript functions that are loaded in the main window.
Here's what happens:
- when a link is clicked on my page, the contents of a div are reloaded with new contents from another file.
- The new file only contains the new contents of the div.
- I want the new contents of the div to call a function that was originally loaded before the new contents were reloaded.
- So, the main page loads the information and the javascript functions. Then, when the link is clicked, the new contents are loaded into the div with a link that calls a function that was already loaded.
- However, nothing happens when I click on the link to call the function.
Is there something I need to do to call the function?
I have a series of dropdowns that allow the user to choose country, province and town respectively. The province dropdown is populated by an Ajax function when the user chooses their country, and the town dropdown is likewise populated by the user's selection in the province dropdown. This all works fine.
Of course, my client now wants to add a "major centres" dropdown between the province and town selection. This seemed straightforward to me, however in practice it's proving problematic. The "major centres" are drawn from the same dataset as the towns, however an extra flag is applied so that only records flagged as "main centre" appear.
Called separately , both the town dropdown and the main centre dropdown are populated. However, the problem comes in when the onChange event which is meant to update both dropdowns simultaneously fires. Watching the network behavior in Firefox, I see that calls to the ASP files which populate the town and major centre dropdowns DO happen, though only one of the calls actually returns values. I've checked this in IE7 also, and the same thing happens.
My function is called from the Province dropdown, like so:

what might cause only the one dataset to be returned via Ajax? Either the towns are populated or the major centres, depending on which order I call the two handleOnChange functions from my callOthers function. As I said, BOTH Ajax calls are made, however only the results of ONE are being used in my page. Could this problem be related to 2 Ajax calls being made too close together?
Our app handles all users information via AJAX using jQuery. We return data.success or data.error depending on if it the API works or not. We also run the jQuery error() function on each post() just in case there is an actual problem reaching the server. It's getting tedious having the same thing for all of them.Here's a simplified example:

is there any way to add the trailing error() function as a default to all post() functions we run so I don't have to include it every single time?
I haven't seen much mention of this on the web, and only recently discovered it works.... not sure if this is somehow bad practice or just a lesser known trick, but lately I've been chaining .ready() at the end of .html() when I want to bind events to new ajax data. I presume it's much more efficient than live(), and avoids racing issues. E.G.:

There's infinite docs about using .ready() to process the document, but not returning HTML. Passing the above along should anyone find it useful or have insight onto why it's seemingly not mentioned elsewhere.
I am writing a form that grows using ajax server responses to info as the form is filled in and everything is fine in standards compliant browsers but IE is having a problem. I have two js functions on the page that collect form data, send it to the server, and then write the server response as innerHTML to specified divs on the page. This works great in FF but in IE it runs the first function but fails on the second function and the two functions are identical except for the server routine.
The div that is populated with the server response so it doesn't seem to be a problem with the coding because if one works, and they are identical, the other should work too so perhaps IE is choking with the way it is handling two ajax objects on the same page? You will need to add something to the shopping cart first at [uRL] and proceed to checkout, then on the checkout page look in the url and change ste_chkout_proc to ste_checkout_proc and load the new url to see the dev checkout vs. the live checkout.
I have a simple problem and cant seem to figure it out. I have a function in the body.load function that is supposed to highlight rows in my table when i mouse over them. When u refresh the page, the function works properly. When I dynamically add new rows to the table using ajax, I get no response.

I would like to include all of these functions within the wrapper of another function so that only one call is needed to get returns from all of the 'inner' functions. However, while each of the functions works in isolation, the moment I wrap them in another function they stop working. :confused:

I think my brain would have exploded otherwize. Some of the problems have been simple misspellings, but when you have been staring at the same thing for hours it can sorta slip by.Bascially Im not sure if Im using the function command properly. When Submit Details is click it should validate the form and then when Calculate is pressed calculate the form (obviously).I think maybe my var Array table is wrong? And the way the functions are set out doesnt seem it sit right.

How do you handle two functions? For example:
if I have two separate scripts, one that opens a popup window onclick and one that does a tool tip onmouseover, how do I tie them together inline, at the link? And i can put them in the same <script> tags in the head, right?

So my ultimate question is as follows:
How do I created a function with the following information provided:
Create a fucntion named Mquote that contains the single parameter,
Qnum.
My apologies for such little information. I am sure its my oversight
that I am unable to locate the answer to my question.
What I am looking for is the base layout for noob java functions.
I want a function to take another function as a parameter, and execute it as a line of code. I put a simplified example below, just to illustrate the idea. Does anyone know the syntax to do this, or is there perhaps a better approach entirely?

When I click on the "Check All" checkbox, it correctly checks all of the boxes in my form, but I would like each checkbox to also call hideLayer2 function just as what would occur if the user checked the boxes individually. Is there a way to call the hideLayer2 function and pass the correct whichLayer and the_box parameters within the DoToAll function? Maybe there is an easier way?
