Simple Search-type Page To Enable Users To Input A Model Number And Its Page Appears In A Inline Frame?
May 6, 2009
I am using a very simple search-type page to enable users to input a model number and its page appears in a inline frame. Its not a true search as it is simply relying on a person entering the correct html page name to find it. But this works perfectly in my application.The problem I have is that I cannot get the type box to accept enter key as a submitt, only a click of the mouse will submitt the request. If enter is pressed the box loses the users input but no action is taken.I think this may be a javascript issue. I have posted the code below.
I have a code which works ok, except I would like to load the specified file in an inline frame (I1) on the page instead of a whole new page if at all possible Code:
I am trying to use it to direct users to a search page based on the values of two drop down boxes. The issue i am having is that the code below works fine on a test page, but not on my test domain (with wordpress theme) and so i was wondering whether there is anything I am doing wrong... Is onclick already defined maybe? I'm not sure how it works to be honest... :(
<script type="text/javascript"> function gosearch() { var breed = document.getElementById('breed').value; var area = document.getElementById('area').value; var site = "http://hairloss-help.net/?s="; var searchurl = site + breed + area; [Code]...
Im trying to get the hang of it. I am trying a simple data entry page, where you can enter the name and type of an animal (eg Freddy the ferret) and it will be added to an HTML table.
The bottom of my table looks like this...
...and I have the following in the <head> tag of the page...
The way I thought this should work is that the first bit of the line would create a new DOM element, consisting of a <tr> with three <td>s in it, the first and second of which would contain the values the user entered. This new DOM element would then be inserted into the table right before the last row.
The problem is that the values from the two <input> tags are ignored, and a row with three empty cells is inserted...
I tried adding the following to the script...
And this showed fine, implying that I am getting the values correctly.
I even tried hard-coding the whole line, but that still added empty cells. Oddly enough (to me anyway), the space in the third cell was recognised, but the hard-coded text in the first two cells wasn't.
I'm wondering if it's possible for a script to enable/disable all input elements on the page with some sort of toggle button. I googled it but didn't find anything too useful except for this: [URL] but I'm not sure how to edit it for the toggle.
how do i get it/what is the source code so when one java pop up appears when my page is visited another one appears over the top of it like in windows when they is 2 boxes but one overlaps the other one
I want to put a little search on a single standalone webpage of names and numbers.
I'm using the code below - works a treat but when you first visit the page, you have to click in the search box before typing a string, How can I make it so that the input box is actively awaiting input upon the page being displayed?
Also as a second question.. can i make it so whenever 'enter' is pressed on the keyboard, the search button is effectively actioned/clicked so it highlights the next matching string?code...
I am creating a simple "fill form" function for a specific page. The function will fill the form and click submit. after this a second form appears which needs to get filled and also send a click to submit button.
Unfortunately when i append the script dynamically to a page, when the page gets refreshed,after the first submit click, the script stops executing and therefore the second form does not get filled at all.
I searched and found out that if I append the script to an independent frame it will continue executing.
Note that the original pages do not have any frames. so I must somehow create a frame on top, append the script and run it.
I have a page built in Sharepoint. I need to create a little search box within that page so people can search for names on that same page. It's a page with a lot of text, hence why the search feature is needed.
I'm trying to validate an input type text html tag with JS.There is an array (prefisso[]) with a lot of dial codes.The first 3 characters of the value to check must be one of the elements of "prefisso[]".The value to check must be longer than 9 chars (min 10).
I am working on form validation, i want to validate "Name" input field value . I want that in "Name" input field no number can be input.
Is there any function which search number/s from string ?? i.e if user inputs any number in that field with string i can display error message(Name can't be alpha numeric).
I have to change text input type to password input type and i am using jquery script. This script work for FF, Chrome and Safari browser but not worked on ie7, ie8.
Script is as:-
How can i update my script, so that it works cross the browser.
if i have 10 pages and each of the page has the same navigation bar, i don't think duplicating the code again and again in every page is the right solution... what do the pro normally do? i tried to use a frame inside one of my div tag to link the page to the navigation page
It is possible to perform a find in page search that looks at a specific link, opens the page in a new window and finds the text within that document?? Basically I regularly use an html page in work that has a list of people and their telephone numbers. I want to be able to type in a searchbox on my main page and it open the target page and find the name I am looking for? Is this possible or can you only Find In Page on the same page or another frame?
I'm trying to create a simple checkout system that utilizes cookies to pass information from page to page. Currently, my entire script works fine except for the read cookie portion. I cannot figure out what is wrong with it. It has been validated and the syntax is fine; it just doesn't work. I use the function with the onload call on my html file such as:
My project is stated in the title, I want to let users who want to see my portfolio click on a button and the portfolio page slide over my index page. Ex. at www.visumdesignz.com over to the left is a button that says portfolio. when you click on it an extruder pops out, I used the extruder for another function, I decided I didn't want that function, but it gave me this idea. I want the extruder to slide over all of the content.
I noticed the facebook app has a similar function to what I am looking for, take a look at it, when you are looking at your dashboard the news feed slides off to the side, that's a similar idea, even though this isn't mobile, you get the idea, at least I hope.
I ma having an issue with a JavaScript slider. If you look at this page, at times the slider does not work and the user is having to refresh their page before it works. It's the same in Firefox and IE.[url]...
I want to print a html page which has contents wrapped in several div tags. I need to insert page break after each div tag and the page numbers need to start from one, after each page break. I could insert page break using the following java script code.
var allDivs = document.all.tags("div"); for (i=0; i<allDivs.length; i++) { allDivs(i).style.pageBreakAfter = "always"; }
But the page number is continuous. How can I change the page number for each pagebreak?
I have an ASP page that contains form elements. I also have an inline frame on this page that contains multiple checkboxes with the same name/id. This is a search form and users need the ability to select which categories they would like to search for. I have to put the categories in an inline frame to save real estate on the screen.
What I need to do is submit the main form and also pass the inline frames checkbox values to the forms processing page. I figured I could handle the onClick event of the submit button (which is part of the main form and not within the inline frame) to set a hidden field value with a string value of all the checked option values from the inline frame's form on the main form. Then submit the form via JavaScript to the processing page. I would then be able to access the checkbox values via the hidden field on my forms processing page.
I am having a problem accessing the inline frame's checkbox values and populating them into a string. Code:
I have a page with an inline frame "frameA" on it. Within the frame is a table and within that is a cell with the id "morebit"
Previously I would set the innerHTML for this cell from the same page (i.e. within the inline frame). Noe, I am trying to set the innerHTML from the parent page.
I have tried various combinations of frameA.document.morebit.innerHTML and got nowhere
If I do alert(frameA.document.title) I get the page title ok....
I'd like my javascript popup menu link to target the inline frame in the middle of my page, but I'm unsure how to do this. The inline frame is named "mainframe". Here is the code, with the line to the link denoted with **:
if (window.mm_menu_0127203047_0) return; window.mm_menu_0127203047_0 = new Menu("root",140,18,"Tahoma, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif",10,"#ffffff","#ffffff","#ffffff","#243f6f","left","middle",3,0,5 00,-5,7,true,true,true,0,false,true);
And the jscript detects when d0, d1 or d2 is clicked and executes my script. It all works perfectly, however when you click on a link it will jump to the top of the page as a side effect of the a href="#" I assume?
