Run Js Script Inside A Frame - Simple "fill Form" Function For A Specific Page
Jul 2, 2010
I am creating a simple "fill form" function for a specific page. The function will fill the form and click submit. after this a second form appears which needs to get filled and also send a click to submit button.
Unfortunately when i append the script dynamically to a page, when the page gets refreshed, after the first submit click, the script stops executing and therefore the second form does not get filled at all.
I searched and found out that if I append the script to an independent frame it will continue executing.
Note that the original pages do not have any frames. so I must somehow create a frame on top, append the script and run it.
I have a (hopefully) simple question.I want to select all buttons on my page except the ones which are inside a specific form.lets say I have following abstract pageconstruction:
What is happening is $(this) is no longer based on .expand being the (this) that is clicked.
like if i have a button SOMEWHERE randomly on the page with this
<div onclick="Minimize('_alerts');">Click Here</div> this will minimize alerts but because the (this) in minimize function doesn't actually point to the right button that I want to add a class to.
Is there a way to modify the minimize function so that it finds the <div id="mytoggle"><ul> <li class="expand boxminimize" rel="_alerts"> using the rel toggle, and then changes the class of the li from expand boxminimize to boxexpanded??
just like the .expand click function I posted on the top of the post that works?
I am using a very simple search-type page to enable users to input a model number and its page appears in a inline frame. Its not a true search as it is simply relying on a person entering the correct html page name to find it. But this works perfectly in my application. The problem I have is that I cannot get the type box to accept enter key as a submitt, only a click of the mouse will submitt the request. If enter is pressed the box loses the users input but no action is taken.I think this may be a javascript issue. I have posted the code below.
[URL] I have an index.html that sets up 3 Frames. They are called FrameTop, FrameA and FrameB. See pic below. In FrameTop the user can type in a url into a textbox with id="urlINPUT". When user clicks LOADA it loads that url into FrameA. User can then browse web in FrameA, clicking links etc and going to new pages. The second button LOADB is designed to determine the current location/url of the page displayed in FrameA and load that into FrameB. So far when I write the javascript in FrameTop LOADA works but LOADB loads the FrameTop into FrameB! [error!]
I suspect my error lies in use of parent/self in the parent.frame.location.
index.html loads the index correctly and displays FrameTop, FrameA and FrameB. The load A button also works correctly BUT when I click LoadB it loads FrameTop into FrameB! This happens when no page is loaded into FrameA AND when an external page in loaded in. [URL]
if i have 10 pages and each of the page has the same navigation bar, i don't think duplicating the code again and again in every page is the right solution... what do the pro normally do? i tried to use a frame inside one of my div tag to link the page to the navigation page
Is it possible to read a web page on some web site that contains a form. Then identify the fields in the forms. Then fills the fields with my data. and then submits the form as it submitted normally. I need to do this to automate for my final proyect , i need to fill many web pages remotly
I have 2 pages, Page 1 has a simple form with a field called "Number", and Page 2 has a button. Whenever the button on Page 2 is clicked, the browser will be redirected to Page 1 and have the field "Number" filled automatically with a number which is unique to Page 2.
I am new to Javascript and don't know if this is possible. And if it is, how to go about doing it.
I would like to program a custom link for my visitors, which will fill a payment form on an external page automatically. As an ultimate goal, I would like to press a link, which will send necessary information to this external page, fill it in the right forms, and press "submit" button there. If there is no way to do all these tasks in only one linkI've tried something like:
I have a little problem, I structure my site with a main page index.html with a frame in the central whit name CENTRALE, so every other page I will open within this frame. Now I need to have a direct link to these internal pages, give an example I wish it were possible to go to the page clothing giving a direct link to that section of the site type www.indirizzo.com / clothing.html because the state of things if I take the 'direct address to that page I open only the part inside of the frame, but I wish I would open inside the "main frame, there is a solution in javascrip to overcome this problem?
Im currently building a new discount-webpage and Im looking for a solution to be able to hover over a discount button to reveal a small text without clicking. And after clicking on the button that the text in the flash button is copied into the clipboard and a new page open with a small frame from my window with the new page underneith. examples of this kind of script can be viewed on this page: [URL]... Im not looking for someone to do this for me. All I want to know if there is another language to do this with like possibly java? and maybe some links to tutorials. (the current page solves this with flash which I havent worked with before.)
I am not a javascripter however I have a simple need to a yes no question before someone can fill out a form. Bloew is what I have. If they click yes I'll take them to the form, if no then I will redirect them to a different page. I can not get it to work.
Let me start out by saying that this is for a small-time page with absolutely zero valuable information. PHP or server-side is way beyond the scope of my goals for the project.
Basically, I have a form on a page which I want to use to submit a password. However, I have realized that using the form submit always makes the browser return to the page with the form.
Well, that's not good when I want to redirect using javascript!
My javascript is:
Code:
My form HTML is:

How can I get this to stop going back to the page with the form after I submit it?
This is a follow-up to a post from long ago. I had thought that this would be very simple but damned if I can get it to work.
Basically, I want a value which is generated in a JS function to be included in a <form method="get"> output. For some reason which is beyond me, the value is not being updated and the form is returning only 'undefined'. Here is the code:
JS: <script type="text/javascript"> function addRow(tableID) { // CELL 1 var table = document.getElementById(tableID);
I have a script that allows me to highlight a row of text.
This text is in a table.
The table is long and scrolls down the page below the visiable canvas.
What I need is a method to jump to the highlighted row.
I am able to jump to my anchor as long as the anchor isn't located within the table (ie I can jump to the bottom of the table if I put the anchor just below the table). However as soon as I place it within the table...no luck.
Here is the code I am using to jump; eval ("document.location='#row" + n + "'");
Can someone explain how I can reference the table in my jump method?
i have an iframe inside a page(main). In that iframe, i am calling a java script function that is in the main page. This function call is working in Mozilla , IE but not in Safari and google chrome?? Is there any specific reason for that? when i add the function in the iframe it works.
