I built an application that open a modelessDialog. my question is can i replace the modelessDialog content on a click in the parent window. i need this in order to prevent multiple modelessDialog to be open. i need to get to a status that only one modelessDialog is open and if the user try to open a new one then the content of the already open one is replaced, or the modeless that is already open will be closed automatically and then a new one....
I have implemnt a onBlur event of a text input. In the event, a window with all records which related to the text input will be shown. However, I don't want to pop up the window in case there is no records that matching the text input.
how to use jQuery I created my own AutoComplete Textbox (although there is one in the jQueryUI Lib). The users types something in a textbox and after 3 characters, the getJSON method is beeing called. This processes the data by calling another site and after received the data, it displays the result in a div tag.If a user types something, it automatically searchs - my problem is the delay. Because if a user continuous, he will already receive (delayed) results - so far it works as designed. My question is, how can I stop the other callbacks of being processed and only receive and display the details of the last callback?
I have a form which is submitted via $.post(). This posts data to the server script and then a response is sent back to the client script. I would like to prevent the execution of this post for 10 seconds after the first execution. This function is for a quick reply method, so naturally i dont want people to post replies every second, therefore i would like an interval between quick replies to discourage multiple spamming.
can still have a popup even when I have a popup blocker - google toolbar. I want to know the technology, but I can not read the source code. Anyone knows the trick to get around the blocker?
Basically I'm trying to make a Training Assistant: a window that will guide the user through the setup process of an online app. However, I only have the ability to edit the front page of the system.
I need to create a "Train Me!" button on the homepage that will open a modeless window. Easy enough, right? Well I need the modeless window to STAY there even after the user starts clicking around on links and navigating to other pages.
To complicate matters, since I can't edit the other pages, I can't pass the modeless window any info on what page the user has navigated to. I need the training assistant to know what page they clicked on so it can help them with that.
And finally, I can't put the app in any kind of frameset because it breaks for some reason.
I have some code to open 1 dialog box. Could someone please help me manipulate this code to open multiple boxes with different contents. I would like to do this with out duplicating the existing code, maybe setting a variable. The least amount of code the better.

I need a dialog box to appear when a person clicks the add to cart link on my site, where they are asked to fill in certain fields, and then click next, still inside this dialog and then move on to the next part to fill in more options, when done, must show in this dialog still, "thank you added to cart successfully". This all using php, ajax, jquery.
A good example of this, is for example: facebook >> add friend >> friend successfully added >> suggest this person to friends. Where a lot of stuff happens, but each time you click, action to php already been executed, even though the dialog is not yet closed. Basically everything that normally happens when you post, but only in a dialog.
I am working on a project that relies heavily on AJAX calls, they are done in dozens of places. There are a number of places where I would want to prevent the user from submitting information multiple times (form submissions etc ). I am trying to think of the best way to accomplish this.
I could simply disable the element that starts the AJAX call upon the first click and re-enable it upon completion of the call. I have also seen examples of developers using a class to handle ajax calls that store an identifier for the call and if it is in progress any new calls with the same identifier will be ignored.
I am making website for online T-shirt designing and I do not know how to dynamically create dialog box so that I can give options related editing shirt to user.
I am struggling to produce a script that will call ajax content intoa uimodal dialog every timea relevant link is clicked. I wish to use multiple links calling different ajax content into mutliple useuimodal dialogs from a single page
I always wanted to know how to arrange uploading of multiple files without resorting to Flash. I actually even know a great example of such an upload form: [URL] (you need to be logged into Google Docs to see this) It definitely doesn't use Flash, but the source code is so obscure and clogged that i couldn't decipher it so far. In fact, all i need is a possibility to invoke a file load dialog with the ability to select multiple files, and after they are selected, be able to fetch their absolute paths on a local PC. I don't even need to actually upload them afterwards.
i have been working with jquery dialog for a while and am stuck on a new problem today.when i load a dialog, it is running the button functions when the dialog is opened.
I used the jquery modal dialog from the[url].... that is currently draggable from the title only. is there any way i can make that draggable by inserting a div at the footer of the dialog or make it draggable from everywhere in the dialog.
I am trying to get a dialog box to open another dialog box. Clicking on "more search options" the first time results in opening a dialog box. Clicking "search" within the dialog box results in opening up a second dialog box. But this only works the first time I click on "more search options". In other words, the second dialog box only opens up only once. To get the second dialog to open again, I have to reload the page in the browser.

i have a div, i set the innerHTML property to a formatted paragraph of text. however, at times the text exceeds the width (and height) of the div. how do i create a fixed width div and make it use a scrollbar if the contents exceed the height and width specified. i'm using microsoft visual studio, and i have the width explicitly set in the properties but still on setting the innerHTML it resizes automatically.
I found this handy little script on the net that means the user can only press backspace or numbers in form input.
<script type="text/javascript"> function numbersonly(e){ var unicode=e.charCode? e.charCode : e.keyCode if (unicode!=8){ //if the key isn't the backspace key (which we should allow) if (unicode<48||unicode>57) //if not a number return false //disable key press }} </script>
I have an onclick handler which executes and jquery ajax load function but I need to validate a form first before executing the load function. I don't know how to prevent the load from occurring until the validate is complete. I am validating using the jquery validate plugin.
So, I have a set of divs in a sentece, and within one div is a link. When the link is clicked, I have all the other divs fade out, and the link is supposed to move to the left, then up. I can accomplish this easily, however, I've noticed that there's a pause between when all the divs fade out, and then the moving of the link. During that pause, it jumps to the leftmost edge of the div that it is contained in.Is there a way to prevent the div from jumping? The following is the code that I have. (I've supplied the html and javascript)I tried using callbacks to prevent the div from jumping, but that didn't really work...
