I have a dropdown that selects which SET of form fields to complete. However, if i select SET 1 and fill them out, i can change to SET 2 and fill those out and well - and it COMBINES them. totalling 8 fields instead of 4 and 4.How do i clear the contents of the div's everytime the dropdown is changed, so the contents are reset? This has to be applied to many div's, so if someone can point me in the direction, and just make a basic template of how i would go about changing a single div from an onchange event, i cna just apply it to the rest of the DIV's i have.
I currently have a form that users of my site can enter their name and send me an automated message [URL]. The problem I'm having is that in order to keep it neat, I have an initial value in the text box to say what I want to be entered (in this case, 'Name') Now, I have it set to automatically select the text on click, but I would either like to have it erase the text entirely so my php file (contactdate.php) can filter it and give an error message, or have my php file actually filter out the value "Name" and send the user to an error page.
How to clear a list of contents in a combobox in javascript.I mean i want to clear the contents of the combobox and want to add new contents in the same combobox.Ex:I had 2 entries in a combobox as 'test1, test2'.I want to clear the data and want to add new entries as 'asd, asds, asdssd'.
I want to have this feature implemented in my application. That is: I have 2 frames in one HTML page. In frame1, there is a Button. In frame2, there is a Textbox. Now, if I click on the button in frame1, then the textbox in frame2 should load some text and again if I click on the same button, the content in the textbox should get clear. How to go with it?
I'm trying to clear all the contents in the div (for stopping possible audio), but when i clear it and open the layer again its like the jquery don't find the id's inside the div.
I have a search form and added the "Clear All" Button functionality...but it clears the last part of the search form display preferences....how do I only clear the checkboxes at the top of the form only and not at the bottom of the form between the <DIV> tags? I have attached a copy of the JSP page.
I'm looking for javascript to analyze the contents of a textbox and replace the contents with the appropriate date. To make that a little clearer, if the user types 'tomorrow' then when they tab/move onto the next text box the 'tomorrow' text should be replaced with the date for tomorrow in the format dd/mm/yyyy, if the user enters '1 week' then the text should be replaced with the date in one week in the format dd/mm/yyyy etc.
Im currently working on a project with jquery... the thing is.. i need to change the contents of a div named "sub2" with the contents of "pets.html"... i've read some tutorials and i thought the best way to do this is through the use of jquery...

After a user successfully logs in, I'm hidng the login div, and displaying the 'loggedin' div. However, if someone clicks on logout, the username and password fields still have the login credentials in them. So, I need to clear those text boxes, along with the 'remember me' checkbox.
Here is my code:
I've tried single quotes, double quotes and other variations. Nothing is working.
However, that 'alert' does show the value in the username box.
Here is the code for the login, and loggedin divs and forms:
Just a noobish question here, is it ok to assign the same id, name, and class to each form object as long as they are unique per form object?
I.E. - id="signout" name="signout" class="signout"
I am using javascript to load and parse a big xml file (around 1 mb) save some values to an array and draw a picture using google Flot. Unfortunately, this causes the browser to crash! Is there a way to clear the memory of the browser?
I am fairly new to javascript and am having trouble clearing a text field. I am making a "vending machine simulator" as an exercise. I have a button that is the coin return, and should clear the balance display. e.g the machine shows a balance of $2 inserted, the coin return button should clear it to 0.
I believe I have done everything correctly but get NaN as the output (a text field named "box1"). I believe it has something to do with how the field is validated. It has number precision set to 2, which I would think would just become 0.00 or something. Anyways, here is my code code...
I've got a checkbox that, when clicked, displays new text inputs. However, when I "uncheck" the box, the fields don't disappear unless I reload the entire page. What code can I add to reset the box to null when it is unchecked?
Here's the function code I have:
<script> function showUserReg() { document.getElementById("userReg").style.display = "inline"; }
I have a client that wants a site for people who are potentailly being abused, often by partners they live with.
He is under the impression that it is possible for there to be a "Button" that deletes the cache when the user presses it rather than going through the procedure of clearing the cache. I can see why this would be a goog thing to have, and wondered of js (or perhaps php might be the way to go)
I have almost completed a web site using PHP that tracks the amount of time users stay on my site. The problem is that right now they need to hit the "Log Out" button so that I can get the log out time. Since I can't rely on them to do this, I need a work-around. I have submitted some posts and most people seem to agree that a clear gif or "web bug" is the way to go, however I can't find any info on how to create such a script. Is there anyone out there that can provide some information on this? I need a script resource or at least a place to start. I may be willing to pay someone to do it if the price is right.
I was wondering if its possible to clear a form after the form has been submitted. Like if a user hits the back button, I'd like the form to be blank. Is this possible?
When I hover over a row it changes to the color I am after just fine but I want it so that if I click a row, it stays that hover color.
Is thre an easy way to accomplish this using JS on it's own or even Jquery? So if I click on a table row, it is set to the same color as the hover state. if I click on another row, it removes the old one and highlights a new one?
