When Option In Select Field Is Chosen, Make Input Appear?
Apr 14, 2009
I was using a script that worked fine but because the variable of the option that makes the script go required the "|" character, it interfered with a PHP script in my document and screwed everything up.
The form has two different select boxes and based on your options selected for select box #1 and select box #2, the hidden input field "redirect" (which is currently empty) would then populate dynamically with the URL associated with that combination mentioned below. The hidden redirect input field (now containing dyanmically generated data) would then pass the new value via HTTP_POST to .net script that will handle the redirect processing step fed to it. code...
I have an select option list, each option has a numerical id, value and text. Each option has an array of its own. So when I choose an option from this list, I want to insert the options array into another option list with an id, value and text. Whats the best way of doing this? How do I select an array based on the value or text of a select option? For for example, take a list of car makes. If I choose the make Audi, how do I select the array of Audi models and insert these models into another select option list. All makes and models have their own numerical id, value and text.
what i want to do is have a selection from 'tst' trigger an input into 'choose' from the data inputted into the 'fname' and 'lname' fields. for example, i want option '1', when selected to draw the input from 'fname' and place it into 'choose'or i might want to select the data in 'lname' instead, so i will tie option 2 to it, so when the user selects option 2 the contents of 'lname' go into 'choose' instead.
If I select "Other", a text box pops up and I can type in something and hit Add Item and it will add it to the drop down box, but the selection will stay at "Other". How do I make it select the item I just added?
I have a telephone input on my form. It is an optional input for users. The prompt begins with the user having to select a phone type from a select menu, and then continue to the text fields to enter the digits.I would like to have the text fields disabled unless any of the types of phone are selected, but not if a type isn't selected. Here's my HTML code so far:
Is there some example js that shows how to populate a text field on a form, based upon what option is chosen in a select form field? The options can be hardcoded and it would be great to also have a default if js is off on the client side.code...
I have been studying php for a while now and i know that, i am now starting php oop and that going well but i have never done anything like this. Anway i am creating a booking system which at the end of the process asks who supplied your voucher which they then select a supplier.
The issue i have is my client wants it so if groupon is selected then an input text box should appear so that the user can input a security code from groupon.

I want to know how I could direct the user to a html document based upon which option I have chosen in the list (see above). So for example...
If I have chosen '1' in the list (see above), then when I submit the form, I will be directed to a page detailing information related to option '1'. If I have chosen '2' in the list (see above), then when I submit the form, I will be directed to a page detailing information related to option '2' etc.
been lurking around to see if I could find any kind of solution to what I'm trying to solve, but the closest thing I got was this old thread:What I wantI'm trying to create is a SELECT menu with an INPUT field, but the INPUT field won't display before I select an option from the list. After I've selected an option I want two things to happen; the INPUT field displays and a new SELECT menu shows up with some other options. Then in the last menu, where I create the options of course, theres a final option that finalizes the entire SELECT menu and gives them a button to submit it, and when they press it, all the options will just be printed along with what the user typed in the INPUT fields.
I have two arrays (States, Cities) I am trying to allow the user to chose one from a select form (Choice) and then have the values of the chosen array displayed in a alert(). Obviously I could just write an if statement and display the required content depending on whether the value selected == States or Cities. But this project is just a placeholder project for me to figure out one aspect of a much larger project I am working on. And it is important for the result to be chosen dynamically as in the final project I won't know the values that the select field is being filled with. What I need to do is take the value returned from the select field (Choice) and turn that into the name of the array and display that. If I use this code
then it returns the values of that array. But like I said I need to be able to dynamically select what array to display based on users input
returns the value chosen. How can I take the value chosen and actually display the value of the array with that same name. In other words let JS know that I don't literally want it to display the value chosen but rather the value chosen is the name of the array I want it to display?
1. Pseudo code 2. x = document.getElementById("Choice").value;
I am trying to make a form where the user is only able to select an option from one of the drop down menus and if they click both then submit an error should pop up telling them to select just one. Now I have found this code:
the first problem is that my menu must be named "id2" which causes a problem due to the bracketed 2 and the 2 after. Is there any way around that?the second problem I forsee is that this will only work with 1 drop down box being unselected. I need a code that will give the warning if nothing is selected OR if something is selected in both drop downs.
