Total Price To Be In DIV And Not Input Type Text
Dec 5, 2010
Firstly, I got this script which gets values and automatically calculates it and shows result.
Script:
<script type="text/javascript">
function calculate(f){
var prod=Number(f['users'].value);
var quan=Number(f['months'].value);
var tot=prod*quan;
f['total'].value=tot==0?'':tot.toFixed(2);
}
</script>
<ul><li class="bold">Users</li>
<li>
<select name="users" onchange="calculate(this.form)" id="users">
<option value='1'>1</option>
<option value='2'>2</option>
</select>
</li></ul>
<ul><li class="bold">Period</li><li>
<select name="months" onchange="calculate(this.form)" id="months">
<option value=''>Select Months</option>
<option value='1'>1 Month</option>
<option value='2'>2 Months</option>
</select></li></ul>
Total: <input type="text" name="total" readonly="readonly">
What I'm trying to make is, the total, to be in a div and not input type text
Something like <div id="total"></div>
I don't like because it shows in form, I want it directly. One more thing, is possible to make the default price 0.00 ? and when selecting automatically changes to price..

I'm having a small javascript problem.This is my code:
<form action="#" method="post" id="myForm">
<div class="additional">
<label>Additional copies</label><br clear="all" />[code]........
I'm trying to get the total price of a dropdown value to change.eg. When Option 5 is selected the total at the bottom should display 12.00.I've already managed to get this code working with radio buttons but can't seem to get it to work with dropdown menus.

As recently as 1.4.3 $('input:text') would find input elements with no type attribute, but after upgrading to 1.5.1 that is no longer the case.
Is this a bug or an intended refactor to be more standards compliant?
FYI - this is the selector I now have to use: $('input:text,input:not([type])')

i have a table inside a form, with input fields ( price, qty, desc, total ( to be updated ), this works as it should with the following javascript:
<script type="text/javascript"><!--
function updatesum() {
document.forms['hours'].elements['onktotal[]'].value = (document.forms['hours'].elements['onkqty[]'].value.replace(",", ".") -0) * (document.forms['hours'].elements['onkprice[]'].value.replace(",", ".") -0);
}
//-->
</script>
now the problem occurs when i put more rows there then the javascript function does not work anymore, my ultimate goal is to create a function to add tablerows with javascript, but i'm trying to create the update function with a static situation first.

Formfield.anzahl1 = number entered by customer
Formfield.Price1 = Ergebnisfeld1
e.g.
Anzahl1= 1
Price = 270
*if Anzahl1 = 2 then Price = 270*2
I need to do this for two form option. 2nd field would be as follows
Formfield.Anzahl2= number entered by customer
Formfield.Price2 = Ergebnisfeld2
Then Formfield.Total = Ergebnisfeld1 + Ergebnisfeld2
How can I convert these above to javascript?

What I'm trying to do is, a jquery script to show in real time the total price. I got this:
<li>Users</li>
<li>
<select name="users" id="users">
<option value='1'>1</option>
<option value='2'>2</option>
<option value='3'>3</option>
<option value='4'>4</option>
<option value='5'>5</option>
<option value='6'>6</option>
<option value='7'>7</option>
<option value='8'>8</option>
<option value='9'>9</option>
<option value='10'>10</option>
</select>
</li>
<li>Months</li><li>
<select name="months" id="months">
<option value='1'>1 Month</option>
<option value='2'>2 Months</option>
<option value='3'>3 Months</option>
<option value='4'>4 Months</option>
<option value='5'>5 Months</option>
<option value='6'>6 Months</option>
<option value='7'>7 Months</option>
<option value='8'>8 Months </option>
<option value='9'>9 Months</option>
<option value='10'>10 Months</option>
<option value="11">11 Months</option>
<option value="12">12 Months</option>
</select></li>
<div class="grand_total">
<h4 class="colr">Price</h4>
<ul>
<li class="price">$0.50</li>
</ul></div>
1 Month and 1 User price should be 0.50 USD
+1 Month = + 0.50 USD
+ 1 User = + 0.50 USD
Example: 5 Users + 2 Months = 3.50 USD
I wanna make the jquery to show the total price at li class="price".

i am currently developing a cart for a website at my company.What i am attempting to do is update the grand total field dynamically as the product total (determined by quantity & price) are being populated.Each product in the cart is being generated by a foreach (php) reading from a mysql database.As the total values are not being prepopulated im not exactly sure what the logic would be to get the desired values.
I will also mention im relatively new to the whole web development area, i started begining of this year and feel i could still learn alot about the 'logic' of a computer.If anything is unclear about what i stated above feel free to request additional information.

My requirement is to develop a simple form with checkboxes which when selected calculate a price based on the value assigned to the checkbox. The form and calculations is working great but i need a few final touches which i can't work out.
1. I want the total to be in plain text and not in a text box maybe just drop the total value in a DIV.
2. I want the form to start with a default value for example 200, i have tried adding a hidden checkbox with a value of 200 and setting it to checked as default but it doesnt display 200 in the total when i first load the page it only calculates it when i select the first box and i need it to be displayed as the total even if no options are selected.

I'm trying to access a value from an input form. I know this works without the onkeyup event but with it it says the that document.formname.elementid.value is undefined! Its extremely frustrating. As the user types into the input, I am using AJAX to generate some more options which works but I need to be able to access the input type=text value.

I got a couple of comboboxes were the user selects a series of numbers. Once a selection is made, the value is appended to an input box. The idea is that the appended values form a telephone number, or at least part of one, that will then be used to search trough a database to look for a matching number.If I select "021" from indicatif, the script will append 021 to the input "blabla". The problem is, if I now select "022", the input will show "021022" instead of replacing the 021 with 022.
What I would like is that, for each combobox, the script replaces the selected value with the new one instead of simply appending it, like instead of say 021022555666 it would show 021555 or 022666 or 021666 depending on what is selected...you get the idea?Is this doable? Needless to say I'm a total noob at javascript.

I am trying to setup a password input that fist shows: "Password". When the user selects it (or focuses on it), it clears and becomes a password input. If the person, clears the password and leaves focus (blurs), the word password appears again.I did some research on this first. There is this article that requires creation of two inputs (hide one, show the other). I also read this article.Without confusing everyone, I am trying to do this simple and in a smart way:HTML BODY
<input type="text" id="password" name="password" class="password" value="Password" />
jQuery Script
$(document).ready(function() {

I have a registration form that I am working on in which I need to assign a price to each option in a selection box then write that price in the document.Then I have a radio button that will add (different amounts based on selection) to that price before it is written. Then I have another radio button that just needs to write a price based on its selection. Both of these values will be written and then totaled. (See below for a less confusing explanation)
On HTML form:
>drop down list (name courseName, value of selections 1,2,3,4)
> radio button (name returnStudent, value of selections 1,2)
