The Mootool Adds The Pop Out Effect To A Form Box And The Enables The Nav Switch For 2 Boxes That Contain Different Form Fields For A Search Engine?
Sep 10, 2010
I have two js scripts running on my project at the moment, one is uses mootools and the other uses jquery-1.2.3min, both work but not if they are on the same page.The mootool adds the pop out effect to a form box and the jquery enables the nav switch for 2 boxes that contain different form fields for a search engine. Now I've been reading up on the two and have decided to favour jquery which means I have to reproduce the same effect in mootool but with my limited knowledge it's proven rather hard.The mootool code:
var isExtended = 0;
var height = 165;
var width = 240;
I am trying to use a code snippet fromthe code works fine however what I want to do is modify it so that when the user clicks the link to add another entry their would be a drop down <select> box to the left of the text input box. Which I have working but each time the link is clicked to add a new <select> and text input box row the previous <select> dropdowns seem to loose their values and only the text input boxes keep their values. So I am not sure where/how to edit my below code to work properly
Code: below javascript controls the functionalty of the script var arrInput = new Array(0);
I have created a similar smart search like yellowpages:[URL]... Here is the problem I have with mine:
Lets say I search 'Attorneys' I start typing 'Att' ... then 'Attorneys' shows up in the smart search so I click on it and press enter. The next time I start typing 'Att' my browsers saved search field pops up over the websites smart search. Here is an image which might help explain the problem a bit more:
There are two input fields in a form, but only one of them is required, they are not required at the same time. Either A or B is required. ( A is required OR B is required). In other words, a user can input data to field A, or he can input data to filed B, but he can not input data to Both A and B at the same time. How to implement this constraint in Jquery form validation?
I am new to Javascript and I downloaded JSE internal search engine v 1.0a from CodingForums. It works fine in all browsers other than ie6 and ie7. Have confirmed that other javascripts are working in these browsers so it is not my browser settings.
I have never done this before and I need some help. Can someone tell me how can I create a search engine within my website to search through the text on a certain page? This is the site I am talking about:http://www.21stcenturyworld.com/community.html
I have 2 boxfield in my search engine...when i write somthing on my 1st text box and press the clear button it clear me the thing i wrote in the text field....when i write somthing and drag it from 1st text box to the 2nd and then press the clear button.the letter in the 2nd textfield jump the 1st one.....and doesnt clear herself...
How would you create a text field that allows users to select different search engines, and then search their keyword. Essentially what I'm looking for is a something similar to the default multiple search field that you see in Firefox and Safari.At this point in time I have the multiple search feature implemented. But all I really have is a <select> next to a <input>. What I want is something that combines the two. Basically I want the look and feel of Firefox/Safari default multiple search field.
I'm wondering if the <input type="search" /> has the capability of adding search engines to the end of the drop down list. In Safari if you click on the magnifying glass on the search box, you'll see search engines at the very bottom. I'm wondering if I can do that to my webpage using <input type="search" />, but having my own search engines specified.
I've been the last few days around a script that I can't make it work. This script is a search engine, when you look for something say the word "titanic", it shows you a list of results with numbers, being the first link with the higher number (kinda like a score), and then after u click the link you want he goes to the respective page. Now I want him to skip the results page, and directly open the first link that he founds on the page.
The Script <!-- Begin var item = new Array(); // Just enter as many additional pages that you want to search, then fill in he additional listings for each page. // "Page Name","path","Page Title","Many,Key,Words","Descriptive Comments" c=0; item[c]=new Array("centerif.htm","","titanic","index,main,start,home,front","Demonstration search engine data about an imagined but probable internet site."); .....
I was wondering what could be wrong? There is this ajax code that I'm trying to work on and its supposed to show the results in a div tag when submitting a search form, but theres no results.
i have a free js script for a search engine, pretty simple, i define the key words and the .html associated to them. But when i enter a word he starts listing the matches he found and rate them by number, being the highest number the most probable match!
Now what i want to is to SKIP the listing, and redirect automatically for the .html of the first match he finds .
The script:
<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript"> <!-- Original: Dion (biab@iinet.net.au) --> <!-- Web Site: http://www.iinet.net.au/~biab -->
I have been trying to write a script that allows a user to click on a button like a plus sign to add an additional field for a phone number when they have more than one phone number to enter. I have created a script that sort of does this. It doubles up what is already there, so, the first time, everything is fine, but after that I get a lot more fields than I want. I am a php programmer and not familiar enough with javascript to get to what I want. My script is included below. What I am doing here is retrieving the html content and then adding it to what is already there. In php I would use an if conditional test to see if the data has been retrieved.
The first time it would retrieve the data into a variable. After that it would not retrieve it. I think I am getting into some scope and sequence issues here. Javascript is a bit different than php in these regards. Also there is a commented line in the code that asks another question about the use of variables that I don't understand. I also tried using appendChild() here to no avail. I couldn't get that to work at all.
I am having a problem with the submit() method that is driving me nuts. I'm using document.form.submit() with large text fields (approx. 2000 characters) and am getting a "Invalid Syntax" error. If I do the same thing with a text field of under 1500 characters, it works fine.
Is there some size limit here that I don't know about?
We're using Malsup's form plugin v2.82 and jQuery core 1.6.2. We're having issues in IE7 where, on a form with file upload, form fields are being dropped before the form is submitted to the server.We tracked it down to the `fileUpload` function, specifically line 196 where each field in the form data has `.attr('disabled',false)` run against it. If we change this to`.prop('disabled',false)` it all works fine.I don't see a clearly marked place to submit bug reports for the form plugin, and wanted to verify that others see this as well,
I'm having trouble changing the font color of my labels ONLY when I stop the form from submitting due to blank fields. I'm not sure whether if just changing my CSS will achieve what I want, or am I going to have to add somethig to my if else statement, or both? I would think I would need to change CSS to :
label.onfocus { color:red; }
but a little confused on what else.

I have a form that has a reset button, and when it's closed, the form is reset. However, at least in testing on my own machine, I notice that the form fields are remembering past input (on Firefox 4 anyway). Once this goes public, I don't want the form remembering anything in case the website is viewed on a public machine. How can I keep the form fields from remembering any past input?
I have a working contact form with 3 of the fields requiring validation and they work well. I have added extra fields to the form (StatusClass, Project, CameFrom). These 3 fields return fine but I need to validated them. My problem is that the new fields don't show in the behaviours/validate panel even though they are within the form tag.
<script type="text/JavaScript"> <!-- function MM_findObj(n, d) { //v4.01 var p,i,x; if(!d) d=document; if((p=n.indexOf("?"))>0&&parent.frames.length) { d=parent.frames[n.substring(p+1)].document; n=n.substring(0,p);}
I am re-developing my website and want to use some Ajax/jQuery in it (so I am learning as I go) and I am not sure if this is possible so that is my first question:I have a registration form and I would like to know if after the person registering has completed their first and surname and the 2 sections of their postcode if I can use jQuery to run a PHP script to see if they are already registered before waiting for the form to be submitted and running a script then.I am thinking onkeyup (or similar) after the last field is completed but I don't know how that would work needing to also use 3 other field values.If this is possible, can anyone give me any ideas of examples that do this or how I can go about passing all the variables and running the scripts at the correct time.
I'm trying to use the input from an HTML form to interact with a switch statement in javascript. I want my users to input a few specific words, and have each word they input redirect them to a specific page.Below is what I've currently come up with. I cannot get it to function properly as it continues to display the default output regardless of the input
<script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript" > <!-- function checkform ( form ) {
