Setting A Textfield Based On Dynamically Populated Drop-down?

I am wondering if I can get the value of a drop down box that was created using ajax.I have a div tag holding the spot on item.php and when the user make a selection it calls my getitem.php which returns a drop down with the populated items.
So I have no tag handler since they were all created back on the getitem.php page. What is the best way to do this? I would love the have the drop down tags on item.php but how do I dynamically populate the list then?
I have a form to add items to a database. In the sidebar next to the form I have a bunch of pre-defined items, I would like to be able to click on one the pre-defined items and have it add a populated text field to the form.
I'm just now trying to get my head around AJAX in general and jQuery's AJAX specifically.I have a table that is generated from php/mysql. A sample of the rendered page can be seen here. I've also attached a text document with the php code that generates the page. What I'm trying to do is, when a user clicks on one of the edit buttons, I want to open a jQuery UI Dialog popup and populate a form with the current information for the class the user clicked on. Then, after the user clicks on a Submit button (and some basic validation), jQuery's ajax() sends the data for processing to a php script. Upon successfully processing the changes to the class I want to close the Dialog popup and show the changes in the table on the main page.[code]
I have a form which contains FOUR text fields (e.g. TEXTFIELD1, TEXTFIELD2, TEXTFIELD3 & TEXTFIELD4). Each text field holds a HEX,DEC color value. ABOVE this form I have a table with TWO ROWS (ROW1 and ROW2). ROW1 should correspond with TEXTFIELD1, so that when the VALUE in TEXTFEILD1 is changed the background color of ROW1 will change to match the HEX,DEC VALUE entered in TEXTFIELD1. The same would happen with TEXTFIELD2 and ROW2. TEXTFIELD3 should be used to change the color of the TEXT inside ROW1 and TEXTFIELD4 should change the color of the TEXT in ROW2. I also wanted to know if it would be possible to achieve this without clicking any button. If doing this without clicking a button is overly complicated, i havinga button is not a problem.[code]
I apologize for posting again - Joern, the developer who built this plugin made a suggestion but I never heard back on a follow up question. I am using validate on a fairly big project. The problem I'm running into is that our e-commerce environment is writing a fairly cumbersome value into each input's name field. It's basically pointing to the form handler. This itself makes it difficult to build rules because the name attribute can be 100 characters long. It's also possible that the path to the form handler will change which is troublesome.
The ideal solution is to have set the validation rules and messaging on the id of the input. Joern indicated that this would be possible, but I need some help going about it.
In my page i have a dropdown 'Type' with id 'idType', which needs to be set to focus when the page loads (depending on whether it has a value or not..)The css is not getting applied to the dropdown when it is in focus. Please can you help me to find a solution since i am new to jquery
I've got the following code snippet in a function to set a coockie based on whether or not the user selects a checkbox. Using an alert the cookie text looks fine but when I go to retrieve the values the only one it can find is the value for user. I've a few different things and none of them seem to work. I'm getting the same thing in both IE and Firefox. The only cookie listed is the 'user' with the proper expiration date. Code:
I would like to set the height of certain #div elements on a page based on the height of the user's current window state. It should draw the elements based on the size of the window at onLoad, and also respond to the onResize event.
I'm opening a dialog box using the jQuery UI dialog methods, this box will display a form, and I would like to autofocus the first element. I'm also modifying tabindex of the different form fields of this new form in order to make them a lot higher than those of the original page, and thus navigate through the form using only the tab key. The issue is that I can correctly change tabindex values, and correctly focus the first element but pressing tab will not focus the next element in my newly added form but seems to act as I was focusing the first "tabindexable" element of my original page. I also note that manually focusing (ie. clicking) the element cause no problem, new tab index order is respected. Does anyone have a clue where it can came from ? Something seems to be messed up in the tabindex order. Tested on FF3, maybe the browser only update tabindex order on "manual" focus and not when modifying attributes ?
I'm trying to write a script with two standard drop down boxes. One contains days one contains the month. I want to update the options in the days box everytime the month is changed... i.e select August, and days are filled up to 31, select September and only 30. The part where I am having difficulty is that after the onChange event has triggered and I have checked what the new month is, filling the box with relevant values is tricky. Code:
I have a content slider called "Codaslider" (ver 1.1 I believe) setup, and using CSS I have an absolute positioned image hovering above the slider at all times. The effect is what I want, where I have a static image of my company's product hovering above the content slider, and the background images slide around showing various features and such.
I would like to make it where the customer can click anywhere within the bounds of the content slider (including on top of the static image), and be able to follow the link for the image in the content slider.
For example, if the background image shows "New Features" or something similar, I want the customer to be able to click anywhere and get to the "New Features" page.
So basically, is there a way to dynamically set the URL that the static overlaid image points to, based on what page the content slider is on?
