JQuery :: How To Make Use Of Not Function - Performing Conditionals

May 1, 2010

Obviously I'm not quite understanding .not() because the following code does not perform identically:
if(!$(this).is('.current')) { some code }
and
if($(this).not('.current')) { some code }
So that I can make use of .not(), how would I write the second conditional so that it performs as the first conditional?

JQuery :: Html() Performing Before Hide() When Called After It?

http://livescore-bg.net/srpski.htmlI want when I change some of the menus 3 thing to happen in the folowing order:1) Old flag to hide()2) New flag to be on its place, IN THE MOMENT THAT this is not visible, I mean, in the moment in which the hide() action will already be performed.3) New flag to fadeIn()As you can see after some tests on the url shown, FIRST it replaces the flag, and after that it hides the old and shows the new one. Here is my first version of the code:

Code:
$(".zastavaholder").each(function(){
$(this).hide(1000);

JQuery :: Anchor Tags Not Performing Correctly In A IE 8 Dialog Using V1.4.1 Or V1.4.2

Mar 2, 2010

I am currently having a problem with a couple anchor tags that I have on a jQuery modal popup (using jQuery-ui-1.7.2.custom.js for the modal popup).Both of them will work correctly when I use jQuery v1.3.2 in any browser but they will not work anymore when I upgrade to v1.4.1 or v1.4.2 in IE 8. Chrome and FireFox will continue to work like they did in the previous versions.

When a user clicks on one of the anchor tags the action should perform without posting back. I have set up the onClick like thisonClick="javascript: return false;" which should prevent them of posting back but it looks like itsignoringwhat is returned and posting back. The logic I am using here is also used on another page but without the modal popup. Everything works fine on that page with every browser for jQuery v1.3.2, v1.4.1, and v1.4.2.

One thing l would like to point out is one of the tags is a select all button which uses .live() so I can select all the checkboxes on the modal popup. The reason I point this out is because other posts like live-method-for-change-event-broken-in-jquery-1-4-2-for-ie-worked-in-1-4-1 also had problems with IE 8 and .live(). My problem and theirs might be related.

I am trying to incorporate this into our website, but I don't really know much about javascript and I am having trouble making it work.

You can view the GPA calculator here to help clarify what I mean... If someone could just help point me in the right direction or if anyone know a site with tips that would be helpful to me..

JQuery :: Triggering Click Event On Parent Page From A Page Being Loaded Via .html()

Jun 9, 2010

I am working on a page that will load in other pages using AJAX and the .html method. Something like this :

<span id = "edit">Edit</span>
<div id = "cont">
</div>
//the click edit script

[Code]....

Unfortunately this does not seem to work, entirely. It does trigger the click event but it messes up the post for some reason. I have played around with it for the last 45 minutes or so and it seems like the click event trigger is what is messing things up, if I comment it out it works fine. Could anyone tell me why they think this is? note this is an over simplified version of my actual code, but the structure is the same.

Dynamically Change The Font Family Of The Loaded Html Page Of The Main Page?

Nov 4, 2010

On my webpage, I dynamically create an iFrame when a button is pressed, then load a html page from within my own domain into the iframe, based on what html page is loaded into a variable. My question is, can I dynamically change the font family of the loaded html page from the javascript of the main page? My code to create the iframe is:

function setSubTxt(){
var par = document.getElementById('parentDiv');
par.innerHTML = '<iframe src="'+subTxt+'" style="width: 375px; position: fixed; height: 365px; left: 400px; top: 145px; border=none;" name="subIframe" frameBorder=0></iframe>';
frames['subIframe'].window.location=subTxt;
document.subIframe.document.body.style.fontFamily = "Arial";
[Code]....

the variable "subTxt" has the url of the html page to be loaded (always on the same domain). The code: document.subIframe.document.body.style.fontFamily = "Arial"; was my attempt to dynamically change the font, but it didn't work. Also, it should be noted that there is no font family set in the html pages which would override this.

Check If Page Is Loaded?

Feb 15, 2011

We have to login to a http page so that I can surf the net. But, that login page also requires me to keep that page open which is very irritating. The page have javascript that checks if the page is loaded every 180 seconds, it its not loaded, I am logged out.

I want to simulate a browser using a programming language like python or using curl or anything so that I am not forced to keep the webpage open.
How can I do that? I have uploaded the source code of the webpages of login_page, javascript and ajax scripts used.

I am not actually sure as to how it is being accomplished so I dont know how to simulate it. note the sendLiveRequest function in javascipt script.

Loading New JavaScript After The Web Page Is Loaded

Dec 24, 2006

I am using this to load the client JavaScript for a web application
when it is selected by the user) via an Ajax connection to the server.

I have found only two ways of loading new JavaScript after the web page
is loaded.

1. Create a new script element (where head is the id of the head tag):
var s = document.createElement('script');
s.setAttribute('type','text/javascript');
s.setAttribute('src', 'scripts/myscript.js');
s.setAttribute('defer', false);
document.getElementById('head').appendChild(s);

2. eval() of a string sent from the server via XmlHttpRequest.

The first method does not work with Apple Macintosh Safari. There is an
article on the apple support website
http://lists.apple.com/archives/Web...r/msg00024.html

Does anyone know of any other methods that are cross-browser?

I already know about the IFrame workaround, but I have not been able to
determine if that is really portable and practical. Does anybody have
experience with this?

Submit Form Without Having Loaded Corresponding Page?

Jul 20, 2005

I have a device with embedded webserver. Its page offers to reset the device,with the following javascript function:

function Restart()
{
if (confirm("Your Web browser will lose contact with the
camera.
Are you sure you want to restart the camera?"))
{
var form = document.WizardForm
form.do_reboot.value = "yes"
form.submit()
}
}

Now I want to execute the reset function automatically on a timeschedule (every 24 hours, from crontab). How do I accomplish this? I guess I need something like the reverse of WGET - something like a WPUT or WSUBMIT, that talks to the embedded web server and submits a form with
do_reboot = "yes". However, I have never heard of any such tool.

How can I trigger the functionality in an automated way, without browsing the page and clicking the button manually?
