View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to implement is a table with editable rows and columns that will feed back into a database. If I could do it with AJAX that would be great too, but I'm not too familiar with javascript. I don't need the code, I need more of an idea. The HTML Table is currently a recreation of the MySQL table minus a few columns. Its all in text, but if I could make the text editable, or better yet, make the text turn into input boxes it would be really cool. I'm not really sure what kind of methods and properties I would need, or quite how to put it all together. What do you think is the best way to go about the entire project?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if you can extract an item from a rss file and display it in a div. like extract the title and put it in an h3 tag, extract the description and put it in a paragraph, and have the link below, and all automatic, so you just insert the code and it displays the first 10 items or so?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to write a script that uses the IF statement to see wether or not a user clicked the back button to come to a page, and then if it's true to not let the page load and kick them back X number of pages (say 4) This is what I have so far:
<script language="JavaScript"><!--
if javascript:window.history.back == 1
{
javascript:window.history.back(4);
return false;
}

There are 3 graphics (top left of page) which open a linked page in a pop up window; each popup comes into focus the first time it's opened - clicking on the same graphics again doesn't bring the already opened popups back into focus.I had originally sized each popup as 320x430px in the body at each of the 3 references to the linked pages, but discovered that (in FF portable 3.65.13) the popups all opened full-size windows. In an attempt to resolve this I removed the size info from each of these 3 page references (lines 84, 89, 94) and moved it to the head (line 67) which seems to have resolved the size issue, but works only when I specify the popup to be any size except the original size of 320x430 (e.g. 320x431; I have now settled for 321x431)
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm using a JQuery function to slide a div into and out of visibility, but every time I toggle, the browser resets my view to the top of the web page..What I want to happen is when you click to reveal the div, the page scrolls down and the div content is in full view. When I click again to re-hide the div, I want the page to scroll back up smoothly instead of just reverting to the top of the whole page...The page url is: http:[url]....Here's my code:

I am trying to get the back button or just a go back to work with an Ajax div? here's a minimal ajax enabled bldd.nl/stackoverflow/pagination/indexMinAjax.php but i want it to be ajax enable with the back button and for this i am trying BBQ
(benalman.com/code/projects/jquery-bbq/)
bldd.nl/stackoverflow/pagination/indexBBQAjax2.php
bldd.nl/stackoverflow/pagination/indexBBQAjax3.php
But i can't get back to a resulting page after filters have been selected?
I need a script that can open an external page, or some type of content, in a box. This is kind of hard to explain, but here's what I mean, go to facepunch . com (I'm not a spambot dammit) and click on that litte face at the top.
View 1 Replies View Relatedhow do i make the page go all the way to the top after you press the back button?
for example, you would go to page 1 and you scroll mid-way, then you press a link to page 2. then you press the back button on page 2 and takes you back to page 1 but it brings you back to the section where you scrolled mid-way.
is there any way to make it so it will automatically bring you to the top of the page. ive seen it on other sites.
after hitting 'back' button I'm taken to spot on page where I was, but I'm being asked to do the opposite -- take user to the top of the page, after hitting 'back' button... when I look up this issue, most people complain of the opposite - that the browser takes them to to top of the page after hitting 'back' button...;-) [URL] is there a way with JavaScript to force page to go to the top of the page when you navigate to a back via 'back' button?
View 3 Replies View Relateddoes any one have any idea how to go back to a calling (previous page) from the present one you are in;
1. without clicking the 'back' button on the toolbar
2. and still retain the values that a user already filled in in the previous page you are returning to (i.e. - the user should not have to fill in the values afresh)
3. maybe using the on click event of a button, or any other method.
I have an html page that uses javascript to open a new window and
display a file that gets created when a button is pressed.
My problem is when the file is changed and the display button is
pressed, the old file is still displaying. I have tried using
<META HTTP-EQUIV=expires CONTENT=0><META HTTP-EQUIV=PRAGMA CONTENT=NO-CACHE>, but doesn't work 100% of the time.
I want to develop a multi-tab browser plugin, which requires all links in a page could open in new tabs within this multi-tab browser plugin. It's very similar to Multi-Tab functions of Firefox/IE, when opening a page in one tab, then any links in that Tab will open in another new tab(after setup from pref), i want to know this principle(how to implement this). I am thinking try this:$('a').click(...), while i am not sure whether it's good/enough.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a page that has links to other pages. I want to be able to detect when the user has clicked on Back (or typed Backspace) to move back to my page. Is this possible?
View 4 Replies View RelatedOn a page of mine a user might submit data several time, which adds an
entry to the history each time (similar as
http://www.google.com/trends?q=iPod...o=all&date=all).
Yet later the user wants to go back to the previous page in one step.
Now is it possible to loop backwards through the history until a
different page is reached? Has anybody coded something like this?
Im working with O'Reileys jQuery Mobile Book. I made the first steps and got the first problem..My second page has no Back Button

I knew very little about javascript and I didn't used it before a lot but now I Have a problem that: I want the pages in my website to go only forward and disable going backward.I mean the user can not go back to the previews page in some pages and I've been told that i can do that using javascript but I don't know how or using what.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhat i'm doing is that i've got a sign-up form. Since the signup form can be accessed from many pages, i'm trying to use javascript to go back to the page the person comes form. so what i'm using is this:
PHP Code:
This works perfectly.. BUT.. in some browsers i have to press refresh to have the changes made.
E.g. index.php says "hello guest" after signing in some browsers say "hello user" some like ie5 say "hello guest" (if i refresh, then it says "hello user")
So is there anyway to goback to the previous page in history and not to use the cache?
i am trying to switch tabs without page going back to top.
i am using this script.

but i just can't stop it from the page going back to the top when you click a tab.
just trying to get this to work. Code is inserted into document head. I am using this on a confirmation page that comes up after submitting a form, I want the page to redirect to the previous page. I am also wanting to add a timer indicator to the page as feedback to the user.
<script type="text/javascript">
redirTime = "5000";
redirURL = "history.go(-1)";
function redirTimer() { self.setTimeout("self.location.href redirURL;",redirTime); }

I have a photo gallery that cycles images using custom buttons and replacing images from an javascript array. I do this so that I don't reload the page each time, just put up the next image so the next image (preloaded) appears instantly. I change the URL to include the image name so that it can be saved, linked, sent etc.
If I load the page and cycle through some pictures and then use the back button I can't find a way of detecting this and putting up the previous image - it just changes the URL in the browser and eventually unloads the page when it should.
I have many tags. I want click each tag, then post/get the tag's value to another page. In another page, received the values and make a mysql query. Then return the resalt data to the first page(do not make an iframe).

I want to disable all the option, which inlcude:
using right click and select back,
pressing the backspace button on keyborad
and the back option on above menu to be disabled.
and other ways of going back to previous page.
Is there a way to do that using JS.
I'm trying to figure out how to pass an image url back into a javascript from an external page and not from an alert prompt.
This is what I have working:
