I have some code below that I use in a contact form. Initially each text box has a default value, and when focus is placed on the text area, the entry disappears. What I would like to do is scroll the entries to the left, but I don’t know how to do that. I tried sliddToggle, but that doesn’t work.
Is there a way of making a cycle slide scroll when either left or right are pressed? I've tried searching here and there and the only thing I've come across that seemed to word was [URL]. If you'll be so kind to check that page, you'll see that the script requires a link with a class to "find" where it is, that in my cycle would be .activeSlide (I think) but it does not work. As you may have guessed, im really not in my turf with js but i think the problem is that the a.activeslide is applied by cycle to the html after the keyboard script searches for it. Is there an easy way to allow keyboard navigation? I only need left and right. [Code]... Here it is working [URL]
I have a div that is set to overflow auto allowing the content to scroll left and right. This is because the content I am putting in it (a series of input boxes) is considerably wider than the containing div. The way it sits, when I start in the first input box and continually tab to the other input boxes, the focus goes from the left of the screen to the right. Once it hits the input box to the right of the screen, some of the input box is hidden to the right. As I tab to the input boxes to the right, each one has a portion of the element cut off by the view window.
How is it possible to slide right/left within a horizontal scroll window for as long as the mouse-down action is triggered (preferably with jQuery)? Couldn't find any examples // functions to do that..
Suppose, Ia text file stored on the server. We all know that when a file stored on a server is opened for viewing, some bandwidth is consumned and the consumption increases with every refresh of the page and so on.
So if i use $.get on the client browserto reteieve the contents of the text file stored on the server, will it affect the server bandwidth consumption? I just want to make it clear that it is just a plain text file.
I'm looking forall posibilities as how to retrieve the contents of a text file stored on the server from the client browser without necesarily having to consumned any server bandwidth.
I'm trying to simply replace a certain string from the contents of an element, I tried this: <div id="errorCont">Microsoft and Apple</div> var ErrorContText=$("#errorCont").html(); ErrorContText=ErrorContText.replace("Apple","No one"); $("#errorCont").html(ErrorContText); So the div SHOULD now say "Microsoft and No one", but it's not working.
Is it possible to get the contents from .js or .txt file. I wish to store all the tool tip content in a txt or js file, pass the parameter to get the msg depending upon the parameter? is it possible? if yes how can i do it?
Is there a jquery plugin that can scroll text in a div vertically?I have div with a set height that is filled with more content than can be seen.I'm looking for a way to vertically scroll the text or some way to page thru the content.
Is jquery the right language to do this in? If it is, can someone point me to a relevant tutorial or example to get me started? Iwantthe text of my site to flow around a fixed background image while scrolling. Doesn't sound too hard but I can't find anything that will do that. I'm starting to think it may need tobe a flash solution. I'ts easy to float the text and some sandbag divs to make the text wrap around the image, but there is no CSS solution to make that text flow around those sandbags while scrolling. Here's a cap with the sandbags outlined to give you a visual of what I'm trying to do:
This supposed to be simple, but I don't really know jQuery in order to implement this the proper way.All I want is to create a div with some text inside. The div will be overflowed some text will be visible. So all I want to do is to create to small links "up" and "down" so when the visitor clicks on then the text scrolls up or down. like this effect hereI tried to do some search ... but all I find are plugins and scrollers to create carousels or so
Right, ok, well I have designed a form that will display a price (22.34) in a text box, and another price in the other text box... I also have a blank text box... Now I want to add both the prices together and get a total in the bloank textbox..
I got this example off a website sumwhere.. But it does not display the decimal number, it only displays the whole number..
var number1 = parseInt(document.forms.CasesSellingPrice.value); var number2 = parseInt(document.forms.AccessoriesSellingPrice.value); document.forms.total.value = number1 + number2;
When I use mouse wheel in Firefox to scroll contents of the DIV, memory usage in Firefox goes through the roof. Code above is a fully working page, if anyone would like to see what's up, just load it up, and start moving your mouse wheel in the area with text. You don't actually have to scroll the text, just moving the wheel back and forth in that DIV will do. Memory usage will start going up quite fast, and after you stop moving the wheel, it will finally come down a bit after a short while. I've highlighted in red the line where mousewheel event is registered for Firefox. I'm not sure if it's really a problem, but since Opera and IE don't have any strange memory usage, and Firefox does, maybe I did something wrong. In everyday use it shouldn't matter [don't expect to have kilometers of content to scroll], but anyway, it is a bit unsettling.
I've tried to do it using the funciton below, it cycles through allright, but only highlights each field whilst it is in focus, then loses it when it moves to the next field. The result is that only the last text/textarea within the form is highlighted. My aim is to highlight all fields for subsequent spell checking.
I am building an e-learning lesson in Lectora that will be deployed to a SCROM compatible learning management system. The lesson is converted into HTML before that happens. My table of contents is around 100 pixels wide but some of the page names are longer than that and do not display fully when viewed in a browser. What I am trying to do is this:The page name for this page is very, very long and I can't see it all. Blah blahWould becomeThe page name for this page is very,
The user enters the title of a movie in the text field. I'd like to mirror that title into a <span> so that users can search other sites based upon that title, gather the information and then put it into the current form on my site.
Code: <input type="text" name="title" value="" /> <a href="abc.com?title=<span>TEXT FIELD VALUE HERE</span>">search abc.com for this title</a>
So basically I have a page listing about a dozen badges people can use to link back to me. I have presented the code for each badge (eg. a href, img src, alt...) in a separate textarea and I'd really love to add a link next to each textarea that would say something like "Click here to copy to Clipboard" then it would copy the text from within the corresponding textarea to the Clipboard so as to eliminate the need for Ctrl+A, Ctrl+C.
