JQuery :: Iterate Through Table Get Tags/elements And Their Values In Each Row?
Jun 17, 2011
I have now been playing around for hours trying to figure this out. Swore I would not ask for a solution. Now I have a headache, so I am asking. On one HTML Page (From.htm) I have:
[Code]...
I somehow, need to get the values as shown in the handle function for each of Products shown in From.htm. Keep in mind the only thing I know from From.htm is the class names. I have no idea what products are listed or what the input names are. This table is generated by a third party. Assume that index.htm and From.htm are on the same website.
I wish to get the values for the 3rd and 4th cell of each row where these contain drop down menus. I've tried various ways but my code doesn't seem to iterate through rows of a table. I can get the values for the first row, but not the rest. There's isn't a fixed row size for the table as the user will be able to add and delete them.
I've put the values in separate arrays but instead of the array containing say [10, 20] it contains [10, 10] as it just duplicates the first row's values.
Here's my code that I have so far:
function calculate(){ var len = document.getElementById(arguments[1]).rows.length; var cMenus = []; var gMenus= [];
[Code]...
I've tried adding j to the arguments or putting it in "[]" but nothing seems to work. I don't think the platform I'm using supports jquery,
I have a problem in Javascript that I really cant figure out, I've tried for days! here it goes: I need to iterate through a form and get all the elements that has a class like "required" and then, save this elements id, because I have label elements that has a for="" tag with the same as the id for the input/dropdown in the form. To all these labels I need to apply a "*" in the end of the label. And all this in an onload function.
I have tried everything I can come up with but now I'm close to giving up so now I need help, how can I get these values and do this?
<div class="rounded red"> <p>Integer egestas neque vitae dui ultricies vel venenatis mi varius! </p> </div>
[code]....
This works,in that it at least added the new class whereas the other solutions didn't. Unfortunately it counts EVERY div, not just the ones with the class .client, I can't set my array of desired classes, and I have no idea how to make it restart the count after it hits #4.
I am loading a Html table through jquery ajax. In this table each row has a check box . when i click the check box i want to get all the details in the row. but i could not iterate through the table.
when i use $("#civilBillTable1 tr[class="+row+"]" ).each(function(){}); works perfectly, but the table is not loaded through jquery ajax
if i use below code, it will not work
$('input.chkAddItem').live('click',function(){ var itemId,description,unit,rate; $("#civilBillTable1").live()('each',function(){ // the table is loading through Ajax alert("h");
how I would be able to convert a string of html into a series of div elements that I can iterate through and perform jquery functions on, specifically .hide() and .slideDown(). For example, I retrieve a string from a jquery ajax call of html that looks something like this,
<div class="post" id="post2918"> <div class="header"> Some Text </div>
I would like to use JQuery to iterate through a set of <div> elements that have the same class and scale each value according to a value selected from a dropdown box. For example,
I am very new to JavaScript / JQuery... Need to iterate over the following segment of code and either return an array or single value the e-mail addresses assigned to these labels (these are hardcoded as the check boxes values):
I am trying to wrap <a> tags around text in <li> elements. How can I get the index of the <li> in the <ul>? I tried something like this: $('.tabbed-list li').wrapInner('<a></a>'); That works fine. However, I want to do something like this: $(this).wrapInner('<a href="#' + $(this).index() + '"></a>');
I've been programming in jQuery for some time now, and for the first time, I came across an issue where I am writing out the location of a TD with an ID="step" to get the innerHTML with html(). I receive a null value, but when I use td:first within the chain of elements, it works.Has anyone experienced this issue or have any idea why this is not working? I've tried other TDs with diffirent IDs within the same row, and the same null result happens.Is there a possible limitation to the numbe of IDs used within the chaining of the $() call?
Here's what I'm trying to do: 1) I get reference to a div that's on my page: var theDiv = $("#" + divID); 2) Now I want to add a custom attribute tag to it, so for instance I want to add "winWidth" so that the div object now contains "winWidth=" for instance. 3) I want to set winWidth now since it's part of theDiv to a value
I'm not sure how to really do 1 + 2. I need to do this on the fly because some javascript logic later will add these attributes dynamically to the div... outside of what the original div had...I don't care what it had, I know I have it now in a JS variable and now I want to both add some new attributes to the div, and then set them on the fly. I don't need these attributes to be on my page, I just need them added to my div variable reference.
I have a web page where a third party application "SharePoint" is broken file urls.If I have a file url like this \jquery.comfolders est folderdoc1.docThe application will add an href tag and the html will come out like this
i am using the folowing jquery function to generate a table of contents from the h tags in my web page. I could make some changes but i am not able to extend the function, so that it puts numbers in front of my toc elements like
The application I'm working on dynamically generates a HTML table like the one below. Having identified that I need to add an opening <tbody> before the first TR that contains the word "Diagnosis", opening + closing TBODY to all other TRs containing the word "Diagnosis" & Closing </TBODY> after the last closing TR?
I would like to include extra "hidden" information in a generated HTML page that can be used by javascript functions.
I realise that most browsers seem to ignore any tags and attributes they don't understand, but from what I can tell the standards do not allow me to make up my own tags or attributes as they will fail validation.
is there any standard element name that can be used for such a purpose i.e. passes validation but never produces any output (and ideally allows nested elements to be rendered normally too)...
I have an HTML table with the table data being generated and printed via for loop using php.An sample from the code is shown below. What I would like to know is how Do I access text within SPECIFIC <td></td> tags from the table? So let's say that I want to access the value of the data in row 3, how i can access is via Javascript using HTML DOM
<? $result = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM tbl_slider"); echo "<BR/>";
I have written some JavaScript that I can use to remove a table row from a table. If I have the table:
[Code]...
I also have JavaScript that will add a row to the same table. I've found that if I add a bunch of rows, when I delete one, there is a small amount of whitespace added between the permanent row and the others. It seems like while the row is removed, some remnants of it remain. Is there a way to get rid of it completely?
Code: function get(obj) { var getstr = "?"; for (i=0; i<obj.getElementsByTagName("input").length; i++) { if (obj.getElementsByTagName("input")[i].type == "text") { getstr += obj.getElementsByTagName("input")[i].name + "=" + obj.getElementsByTagName("input")[i].value + "&"; } I have a form with input objects enclosed in a table, but this part of a script cannot find the input objects unless it is outside the table.
I've selected multiple tables and tried to use each for applying cornering to each table. Inside the callback function, I try to find the first/last table cells to apply cornering for each corner. However, when there are multiple tables it looks at _all_ the tr elements for the first/last rows. See example code:
// Add cornering to tables $('table.corner-me').addClass('ui-corner-all').each(function(){ var $table = $(this); $table.find('tr:first :first-child').addClass('ui-corner-tl');
So I have a form with a few tables in it. One of these tables is to enter new values, and the rest of the tables are to update existing values. I need to be able to empty all values of elements within the table for entering new values on a button click, but I'm having trouble doing this with jquery.
I'm trying to find all elements inside of the table with id of "new_details" and then set all text box values to "" and uncheck all checkboxes but I'm not getting anywhere.
Does anyone know why this isn't working? The toggle function works perfectly fine with PHP loops, but when I insert the table td tr tags, it does not hide the loop when the page first loads...It just shows the results in the div which it shouldn't be doing.
Here's what my code looks like...
JS
Code: <script type="text/javascript"> function toggle(element) { if (document.getElementById(element).style.display == "none") {
I've an HTML table that uses the jQuery-datatables plug-in. One of the columns in the table includes a button for adding a new row to the table immediately following the row where the button was clicked from.
