I have a problem with the latest version of the jQuery Form Plugin (2.80). To be more precise, I guess I am doing something wrong, and with an older version (2.67) somehow it didn't matter. With the old version, the file was uploaded without problems. Now Firefox opens a new Tab on clicking the submit button and nothing is done. Chrome doesn't open a new tab, but also nothing happens. In Wireshark I can see that there is no file attached in the POST message with the older version, the file was sent.My first guess was that my file handling on the server side is erroneous - but on the other hand, when there is no file attached, what should I handle there?

I a bit confuse on What different between Applet and Plugin? How the file can send from the client PC to the server? By the way, do DIC have the sample source for this? If no let me do it for the new one here.
This is a combination of jQuery and a PHP problem so I'm not 100% certain where to post it. I am working on method to reoder a list that comes from a database. When the lists is displayed, it will be ordered by a "sort" column. The user can drag/drop the list to change the order, and I want the order to update the sort values in the database.I found a script that provides a decent starting point, but I am not getting the results I want.
1: It is able to reorder the columns, and save the results which is good.
2: It is saving the results as "0,1,2,3" rather than reordering the numbers from the "sort" column. (< this is what I need fixed)
EG: Name > Sort Apple3 Orange 5 Pear 13 Kiwi 105
If I reorder these in the reverse order using the script, I end up with the following in the database. Apple 3 Orange 2 Pear 1 Kiwi 0
Yet what I want is, Apple 105 Orange 13 Pear 5 Kiwi 3
how I can get it to work with the existing "sort" values, rather than serializing and starting at 0. Here are the script files I am currently working with for testing.
Code: CREATE TABLE `menu` ( `id` int(11) NOT NULL auto_increment,[code]....

We use the services of an external company in our website. We load this content in via an iframe. Some of this content happens to be an image.
This image is only stored on the external company's site for a limited time. We need this image to be stored on our servers somehow. Because the content is loaded dynamically from another site it's a little more difficult to access via a server side script I'm thinking it would go something like:
I would like to use input type file, but i would like to put any file in it when i go on the page for example when user go back after try to submit
imagine any form to fill for send information...but after the user validate....one on the fields is bad...then the user must be correct this field.....But i don't want another fields are empty. The user must just correct one fields and keep another fields
So I think the only what to do it would be in a web browser. So, say for intstance, I want to save the the main page, google dot com and have it automatically save to my C:google.htm. How would I do that? Is this possible?
I am looking for a way to select a file from a list and load it into a webpage. The page and the files are stored on a sd-card for off-line usage, I know that listing files remote dynamicly needs a scripting engine but since the sd-card is on the client side that is not possible, but I can make a list of those files when creating them.
I am quite new a web scripting and making web pages in general and I have stumbled across a problem I have as yet been unable to solve. I am trying to take the contents of a textarea box and save it to a file. This step is not to hard however the contents of the textarea is mostly latex source so it contains just about every special character you can imagine. My question is this, how do I save an exact copy of the textarea contents with special characters, carriage returns, etc to a file?
1. user click "start" button for the e-test,
2. user need to finish the e-test with in 20 minutes, after 20 minutes the form will auto submit and the data will save into file,
3. me will go to the file folder open it and print out the qestion and anwser.
4. The file will be detele after i print out and the next user can do the e-test again.
I got the time counter and the auto submit script. but i just have no ideal how to save the data into file.
Can I make a list of hyperlinks that users can customize and save as a cookie by clicking a button and automatically retrieve the cookie so it remembers their list next time? This is kind of what I want to do:
