JQuery :: Change Row Background Based On Certain Column Value?

I am trying to change the background color of a row based on a certain column value in SharePoint 2007. The code that i am using to achive this is given below. This code works fine. But i would like to filter the values rather than use :Contains.[code]
I'm new to Jquery and was wondering if it is possible to do give a table row a color based on the value of a particular column / cell value. E.g. if the cell content of a column called "Status" is "Open", the complete table row background color should be set to red.
How can I toggle some checkboxes based on a value in a table column? For example in the table below I would like to check all of the checkboxes if the "Needed" column is "Yes".
I am trying to change my sites background color. The color changes but it doesn't go back to the first image anymore. does anybody know what the problem could be?
how to do this with javascript for a table that i have made in php and html. I want to hide the row for the table based on the value inside my first column for each row of the table. I am adding code to a SharePoint 2007 list where I want a calculated field to be a colored square based on a status column.I have all the code I need to create a colored round bullet, but I would like the bullet to be square or a rectangle.I was not able to find a repalcement for the "bull" in the below code.

I want to change the background of my main div depending on the time of day. Right now this code works for two time of day, day and night but it only works on the "body" tag not on a div. How would i modify it to change a div background rather then the "body" background
i doesnt have id or class name because i generated it dinamically in xslt.
When i click over it, shows a hidden div that contains other "a id=''close" tag, the idea is change the background color of the first anchor when i click on the close button. But i dont know how i can set the it up. how i can get wich anchor i have been clicked and change.
I am trying to change the background image of the body to a different image when I click a particular div. What would be some simple code to do such a thing.
So the idea is, once the first li item is hovered over, the div with classname "nav" has it's class removed and has "navbg" added (which has the alternate background image).

I'm very new to Jquery but have finally worked out how to change the background-image (a sprite) of my #contentContainer when hovering over a separate 'trigger' image. However, for the life of me I cannot work out how to apply a fade effect to the transition. Basically, instead of the current abrupt background image transition I would like it to fade in smoothly on mouseover and mouseout.
Is it possible to change a table cell background color or add any attributes based on a criteria, anyway, here's my scenario. What I am trying to achieve is use the sql result to add attributes to the table cells so for the illustration say i want to add a bold attribute to all table cell which corresponds to the sql result, the result would be, Result: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 Any plugins out there? I'm trying to change the background image of a button. Using the css() function changes the background instantly. Is there a way to do a crossfade effect?
I have a dropdown with various options in, when you select an option it changes the background image of a div. However I would like to animate this change to a fade effect.
The code I have for this at the moment is. (The div bgimgtest has a default background attached to it (images/DELETE/FAV1.jpg).)
