How To End A Slideshow Loop

Jun 12, 2011

I have a basic 3 image slideshow banner for a website, but it loops and I'd like it to stop on the last banner image instead of start over. Here is the code I have, but I don't know what to do to stop the slideshow once the last image is displayed:

<div id="mySlider">
<div id="slider">
<!-- start slideshow -->
<div id="slideshow">

I need to add to the code above to get the slideshow to stop on the last banner image?

Can't Get Slideshow To Loop

Jun 28, 2010

When I had 4 images it seemed to loop..When I added images it stopped.

<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
<title>Untitled Document</title>
<link href="horizon photography.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />

I do not know if this is dated script or if you know of a simpler script that does the same thing. I just liked the fact that it was not flash and liked the fade transitions.....

Continuous Slideshow Of Images Without Loop

Jun 1, 2010

As it is known from the title, I'm building a web page running continuous slideshow of images, like watching a video. I wrote the header part below:

<script language="javascript" type="text/javascript">
var slideimages = new Array()
function slideshowimages()

Here, the biggest problem is, when the page is loaded there are still coming images saved from a capture device. So, my images from the captures device can not be loaded to my web page. I need to pass these images directly to the web page as real-time video taken directly to the web page.

JQuery :: Create A Slideshow With Thumbnails The User Scroll Through And Use To Navigate The Slideshow?

Aug 18, 2010

So Im trying to create a slideshow with thumbnails the user can scroll through and use to navigate the slideshow. I'm a big fan of cycle so I wanted to use that as my main slideshow component and was planning on using jcarousel for the pager. So far it works great in Firefox, Chrome, and Safari, yet in IE the thumbnails are not loading. I'm guessing it has something to do with how the images in the pager are generated and then jcarousel just isnt proccessing that in IE but I 'm not sure. I feel like I'm very close to getting this slideshow to work, yet I need to figure out why it is failing in IE.

Recursive Function With For Loop, For Loop Is Breaking When Calling Itself

Jan 22, 2011

I have been looking at this code for two evenings now, and rewrote it 4 times already. It started out as jQuery code and now it's just concatenating strings together.

What I'm trying to do: Build a menu/outline using unordered lists from a multidimensional array.

What is happening: Inside the buildMenuHTML function, if I call buildMenuHTML, the for loop only happens once (i.e. only for 'i' having a value of '0'.) If I comment out the call to itself, it goes through the for loop all 3 times, but obviously the submenus are not created.

Here is the test object:

test = [
"name" : "Menu 1",
"url" : "menu1.html",
"submenu" : [

'Menu 2' and 'Menu 3' don't show up! I'm sure it's something small that I'm overlooking.

Send A Loop Variable (i) To A Function Inside The Loop

Aug 4, 2011

I'm looking to send a loop variable (i) to a function inside the loop, but I can't seem to get it to use the value I want, it keeps making it a reference of i and therefore the function is always called using the last value of i rather than the one it was set with.

So if i have 5 Tabs then Tab 1, when clicked, should call DefaultTabClick(0) and so on rather than always using 4 for any of the tabs.

Changing For Loop To While Loop?

Nov 12, 2010

I am doing some studying and we was to create a small loop using either the for loop, while loop or do while loop. I chose to do the for loop because it was easier to understand, but I want to know how to do the same using the while loop. Here is the for loop I have, but I cant figure out how to change to while loop.

for (var i = 0; i < 5; ++i)
for (var j = i; j < 5; ++j)

How do you make the same using a while loop?

Slideshow Fade In And Out?

Jan 27, 2011

currently making a website for a friend and he's after a image slide show that fades in and out of the images. He wants it javascript based as he does not want flash on it. However my knowledge of javascript at the moment is very poor but this is what I've come up with so far.

I managed to get a slideshow working fine without the fade. Then I got a fade working for IE with this code:

var slideShowSpeed = 5000;
var crossFadeDuration = 5;
var Pic = new Array();
Pic[0] = 'images/SD_Banner.jpg'

However, even though this works for Mozilla and Chrome, IE does not like this at all...

Is there anyway of somehow doing some kind of IF statemement depending on which browser is open to determine which code shoud be used?

Doing Two Different Slideshow On Page With Same Code?

May 12, 2009

I am building my first webpage in HTML, and I needed to use javascript for the slide show, so i used a code for the slide show from codelifter. I like the slide show, but I need to do more then 1 slide show on the same page so I was wondering if I could just do two different slide shows using the same code, just copying and pasting it with different images. But I have a feeling that wont work since the images are loaded in the head. Also my second question is how I make my slide show a link, like where you click on it and it will take you to a separate page I make... is it similar to adding a href codes? I know a good amount of html (not everything but enough) but I dont know much about javascript. Here is the website: [URL]
