Disabling Onclick (using Spry)
Dec 21, 2006I want to disable the onclick for a <div>. In onclick I am using
Spry.Effect.AppearFade(...). Any suggestions on how to disable onclick
after the first initial click from the user?

Feb 11, 2010I have this code for animating a vertical menu. It changes the width of a menu item to using .animate().
So the behaviour now is: When my mouse is over the menu item, it expands (width 220px), when I remove my mouse it shrinks back (width 95px). Now I want it to stay expanded when I click on it and shrink back and expand a new menu item when I click it.
Menu item are listed, using different css classes for designing their looks.
Spry Validation Not Working In Ie / What To Do?
Feb 1, 2011I have spry validation setup to validate a contact form and it works fine in firefox, chrome, safari and opera, but wont work at all in any version of internet explorer.

Anyone know if this is a common issue with spry validation and if so, is there a workaround?
Spry Accordion Panel Flicker?
Jul 14, 2009I have an issue with a spry accordion panel causing a flicker. The page is at: [URL] When I do a keyword search however and get a list of results, the flicker dissapears. It is flickering on some pages and not on others.

Oct 28, 2009I'm using a .csv file as the basis for a spry dataset in Dreamweaver. I've got it working and the data is getting inserted into a table dynamically. Since there'll be quite a lot of rows in the table, I need some sort of paging controls so the user can see about 10 rows at a time and then page through the rest of the rows.[code]When I test though, I get the following error:"Failed to retrieve data set (dsHospPrivate) for spry:repeat".I wondered if someone could tell me where I'm going wrong? My javascript coding is really limited so I may have copied the wrong code blocks from the example in the abovementioned url.Also, I'm noticing that when the data comes in from the .csv file, any text that has an apostrophe in it, eg. children's - the apostrophe is not being rendered correctly in the browser, ie. it's being represented as a question mark in a triangle.

It is a vertical menu with multiple sub-menus.Some lists are very long and the menu goes below and off the page.I found a great example of what I want my menu to do: Coins Paper Money | eBayOn the side, it says "Browse By:" and there is a vertical menu. If I shrink the page up vertically a little and watch the sub-menus pop out, I notice they get pushed up if the parent is close to the bottom of the screen, which ensures that none of the options go off the page, they get pushed up.

Dec 15, 2011I am having trouble with my MooTools Slideshow. I have a page with 4 Spry tabs and 3 of them have slideshows. I've set up the page for multiple slideshows, but only the first tab works correctly.
These are 2 issues I'm having:
1. The thumbnails work properly for the first tab, but for the other tabs they seem to stack upon one another and flutter when you mouseover.
2. When you switch to a different tab, you get a smaller photo artifact for a couple of seconds in the right corner of the slideshow screen (I have a feeling this will go away when #1 is resolved).

The issue is probably that slideshow can't calculate dimensions properly when it is hidden. It's really a general issue with javascript/DOM-manipulation: when an element is set as display:none - like the hidden tabs - nodes inside of them have no height/width. The workaround would be to initialize each slideshow once the tab is visible.
Do not initiate all slideshows at once, initiate them when the tab comes into focus, destroy them/pause them when a tab loses focus. I don't know how to initiate the slideshow on tab focus.

Spry To Create Accordion Navigation System
Oct 11, 2010I'm trying to use spry to create an accordion navigation system. At the moment I have just inserted it using dreamweaver, and I have been able to change the look of it through CSS. However, I would like the panels to only open as large as their contents, rather than a fixed height, if you understand what I mean. I read through the adobe help and it says:"The accordion also supports variable height panels. Mar 6, 2009I'm using Adobe Spry for some transitional effects, based on this script: http:[url]....The page I'm working on is located here: http:[url].....As you see, on page load the first item is shown ("Giovanni Pappalardo - Nullafacente"), and then the other records are shown when clicking on each thumbnails
My questions are:1. Is there a way to hide, on page load, that first item, and showing it ONLY if relative thumbnail is clicked? I tried to apply some "display: none", but I get stuck on JavaScript part, since nothing seem to work... (honestly my JS skills are very poor)
2. While doing transitions between a record and another there's a moment in which full image still hasn't loaded (and so there's a white placeholder); is there a way to avoid that, i.e. preloading images?

Since there'll be quite a lot of rows in the table, I'm trying to implement some paging controls so the user can see about 20 rows at a time and then page through the rest of the rows.[code]When I test, The first 20 rows appear but then these 20 rows are repeated another 20 times, so the first 20 rows are duplicated 20 times on the one page, i.e 400 rows are being displayed (if you know what I mean). The paging is also working via the buttons but each of the 20 rows (20 x 20) are being paged simultaneously, and I only want one set of 20 rows to appear at any one time.[code]

the page, the page will disable sections of the form. My plan is to put
each section between a <div></div>. Each section contains some collection
of form elements.
So if the user does not select some criteria, the related section of the
form gets disabled. In a typical Windows type of application these elements
get disabled and greyed out. What's the best way to do this in a webpage?
Can Javascript determine what form elements are in a div section and
disable these elements through a loop for example? I know I can disable
each element if I know its it but is there a way to find out all the IDs of
elements for some div section?

The code works great (at first glance). However, I noticed that, if you click anywhere inside the browser window and THEN press Ctrl-N, the new window will open. If you don't click anywhere inside the window, the following code works. Can anyone see an improvement to the following code so that clicking inside the browser window doesn't bypass the javascript?

Jun 28, 2004I saw quite a few scripts that allow the user to disable the right-click on certain components (usually images). This is what the code looked like (for IE);

Then call this function like so:

I would like to disable right-clicks without the annoying alert.
I just don't want the menu to open when the user right-clicks the link.
Is that possible? When I remove the call to alert, then the code has no effect.
