I'm making a horizontal navigation bar using jQuery. I want to have the drop-down menu slide down ( slideDown() ) except the drop-down menu appears on top of instead of behind the main menu before sliding into the correct position.
Here is the HTML:
HTML Code: <div id="navigation"> <ul class="top"> <li><a href="../news/index.php">Home</a></li>
I am using JQuery to create sliding line under menu effect. I have written the code but can't figure out couple of things. I have attached my code. I would like to make the sliding effect more smooth but the most important thing that I can't figure out is how to make the scroller div scroll back to its original position on mouse out.
I am trying to find out how to create a drop-down menu in a form that when for example "Option 1" is selected a second drop-down menu appears with further options that are specific to the first option. For example;
I am trying build tripple drop down list using JQUERY .still i can't do it.1st drop down menu(click option )---->load 2nd drop down in to same page----->load 3rd drop down in to same page(1st menu selected value go to jquery function and it is parsed to
I need to create a currency converter using a drop down menu. Firstly i needed to do a regular expressions check to make sure only numerics are entered and I got that. The one thing im pretty confused on is how to do the calculations in the actual function.
<html> <head> <style type ="text/css"> @import url(style.css);
What I'm trying to do is create a document which allows you to select a size of box from a drop down menu, and then select a size of product to go into the box on a second drop down. The products on the second drop down menu will be allocated based on the box size that you've selected to make sure that you can only choose products which will fit in the box you've selected.
In order to do this I've set up a 2D array, which lists each product and which boxes they will fit in using 0 for no and 1 for yes. When you select a box size from the drop down a value appears in a text box next to it (1, 2, 3, or 4) and what I need to do is use the number which appears in this text box to pull data from the array to populate the next drop down list. i.e. If option 2 appears from the first drop down selection then the second drop down should be populated with data from column 2 of array (In this example 1212, 1515, and 2020 would be shown in the second drop down)
Im having trouble with the Java script to pull the values from the html text box in order to manipulate the array. If you look at the function 'top_biochill_addOption_list()' you will see that the second drop is populated here from row [itop2] of the array, which means the second drop down is permenantly populated as if option 3 had been selected from the first drop down. I need to get the value selected from the first drop down as a variable and replace the '3' in the above statement with that variable to get this to work but I have no idea how to go about that.
I'm looking to create a drop-down menu with rather long option titles. The problem is that I want to restrict the boxes size otherwise the size changes to the length of the longest entry. When I use the length attribute, it forces the drop-down to be a certain length, but it also cuts the sentences in half when I drop the options due to the option box being the same length as what I set the drop-down menu's length to be.
Is there any way to set the drop-down menu's size, but have a different size on the option menu that is displayed when the drop-down menu is clicked?
Trying to develop drop down menu... I'm showing a div, then hiding it. It works perfectly, but I need to set a time delay... that's where the problem exists. When I add SetTimeout() to create a delay, it no longer runs correctly...
making a site where i have multiple menu bars sliding up or down showing content. I'm wondering if there is a way to control the contents of the sliding div because now it slides up slightly aswell as the div gets closed (or opened), but i'd like it to stay where it is.So basicly i want the contents of the sliding div not to move when its animated, is that possible? Maybe with another jquery command?
I'm trying to make this menu go up and down when the arrows are clicked. Right now, it shows all of them and I can't figure out how to make it so that it only shows the first 9 and will show the rest in the menu when it's clicked. I really don't know where to start. I found some scripts but they turned out really funky. Even if it's something super simple is cool, just where to begin??
how our what this site did to create the portfolio they have, I am a nebbie at this so maybe you could put me in the right direction I would like to create a sliding portfolio alot like this one here: [URl]

I'm trying to create a sliding panel using css and jQuery, sliding up from the footer of our page. The panel is acitvated by clicking the "newsletter" link (will be used to display a subscription form) in the footer. Functionality looks good, but there is a problem with the look and the positioning. First of all, the positioning is off. It fits seemlesly in the FF I used for creating this effect, but on various browsers and resolutions, the div is displayed higher or lower in stead of "glued" to the top of the footer div. Secondly, I'd like this div to be 100% wide, just like the footer below, with a 940px centered div within to include the content.
im trying to make a sliding tab menu, The menu is already made with animations and such, however now im trying to integrate the menu with the Divs i have for each menu item. I really just need something to start me off.. Basically on click i want the current selected item and div to fadeOut to the left and the newly selected to fadein from the right..
I am trying to use a jquery sliding top menu which i found here: [URL] and I have got this to work in the past on a website I built from scratch, but I am trying to build my website with wordpress, and I am having trouble getting it to work this time, it is going behind divs, and flying out too far. View problem here: (the 'Log-in' tab at the top) [URL]
The problem is that IE is not cooperating. Specifically, IE loads everything alright but does not slide. It just loads the whole submenu instantaneously after a user clicks. Firefox works perfectly. At the top of my test page is a doc type statement inherited from the real index
I've been beating my head against a wall for a few days trying to get this working. I'm trying to create a dynamic menu where a user selects one item and another select list is shown, then another and another (and so on). Here is my JS, it *should* be taking the ID of the div, comparing it to the selected value and then showing another div by settings it's class property to visible:
I'm using three elements and jQuery to create a scrollable information element with a sliding animation (similar to this. I'm running into issues when resetting those three elements to prepare for the next prev/next animation, however. The issue is in my logic - jQuery's selectors will reverse themselves using the code I have.
As you can see, the last step will always reverse the first step These elements do need to be reset in one way or another so that the information can be loaded appropriately (from an XML file). and then animated again.
