This pops up a new window with every call. In the child window I call
a parent function onbeforeunload, appClose() :
function appClose(){
if (window.opener && !window.opener.closed){
window.opener.CloseChild(getQueryString("application"));
}}
This is in my frameset tag of the child code :
<frameset ... onbeforeUnload='appClose()'>
The window.opener.CloseChild() function is called perfectly when I have
one child window open, but as soon as I create another child window
both of the open child windows don't ever call it. They do both go
into the onbeforeunload appClose() function, but do not call the
window.opener.CloseChild() function inside of this routine.
Anyone have any ideas why when I have two child windows open I can't
access the window.opener functions?
I have tried taking each new window out of the array and used the
following code in CloseChild() :
hen a button in parent window is clicked multiple times, more than one child window is opened. This problem is occurring in linux. In windows the code is working fine. Is there any option in window.open() method to open a child window once.
I have 2 jsp pages which are loaded from the same browser window. Inside these jsp pages, I have created 2 windows to write client side log. I have used different id for 2 windows as follow.
In JSP1 page I create one window & second window is created in jsp2 page.
When the page loads I can see 2 pop-up windows just fine. But then all the writeln statements(from page1 & page2) go to the win2. Even the writeln statements from page1. I would like to have page1 log go to win1 & page2 go to win2. What I am doing wrong?
I'm using an <A> tag with an onclick event to open a window with JS (window.open)... In FIREFOX, if I click very quickly, multiple windows open. Not a problem in IE.
I know that var win = window.open('page.html'); will open a new window and give me a reference to that window. I understand that completely. Let's say that I have a child window created but I don't have a variable representing that window? Is there a way to return a collection of the child nodes of a window? Sort of like the way frames[] work?
I'm currently working on a site that consists of several Iframes. I need to create a page that will load this site with a specific page in the main Iframe as opposed to the normal index page. So far I've simply created a dummy page that opens up the site in a new window and attempts to change the location of the main content Iframe using this piece of js:
Code:
function init() { var site = window.open('index.htm', '', ''); site.document.content.location = 'news_caster.htm' this.close();
I have a form that submits parameters to Stripes action. The action builds a URL, fetches a PDF from that URL and returns the PDF to the browser. Stripes has a neat StreamResolution object that takes the URLConnection and MIME type and returns the object which I can simply return to the browser.I also have a requirement that the document should be opened in a new window.Unfortunately, sometimes PDF generation takes a while, so I'm required to pop up a "Please wait..." window that has to be taken down once the PDF loads.I cannot use the target="_blank" on the form, since it prevents me from hooking the javascript I need, so I use javascript to submit the form [URL]:
var report; var spinner; function viewReport(url, report) {
[code]....
The PDF is getting fetched and displayed and the popup is taken down, but the PDF content is displayed in the original window, while the new window contains the calling page.
I have home page with session close button and 10 child window link and i am opening all child window.All child windows should close after clicking on session close button. Code bellow
Is there a way to monitor a newly opepend child window with opener, even when the page keeps reloading ?
Say window A opens window B and gives it a name/handle "myWindow". At this point anywhere in window A, we could say myWindow.location.href to find out where the child is.
But what if someone was to take window A to another site, and than return using history button, OR reload it completely.
upon load the var myWindow would get executed again, and it seems like the handle would be lost. I tried to see if there was a window.children collection that might still hold window B in its subset, but was not able to find a way thus far.
I'm developing chat application using Ajax,jsp,HTML,java. I have a HTML and I am opening another link in a separate window using window.open() . The child window is something like 'http://yahoo.com' which is out side html. I need to refresh the parent window when the child window is closed.
I am trying to pop up a window and then do stuff(set flags) when the content of the new window is done loading. For this I am trying to detect the window.onload of the pop-up child window but so far I am unsuccessful. I believe my problem is that the URL of child window is on different domain, than the one of the opener(parent) so that the window.onload is not being called. Though this may change, at the moment I do not have access to the code for the page I'm opening up in the pop-up. Im pretty new to web development.
How do I force a window, pened alone, to be displayed in its frame set?
tried this:
if (parent.location.href == self.location.href) { window.location.href = '../' }
the problem is that the original page is replaced by the main.htm page (the default page for the 'main' frame)., because the open event of the menu page calls for the main.htm to be loaded. Is there a way that I could pass a page name as an argument to the index page at all? Something like window.location.href='index.html?Loc=IT_Study___In formation.htm'
I have a closed box system which opens an html page. The page closes by the system. I have access to the html page. I added code to open a child window from this page. However when the parent window closes, the child closes too. Is there a way to keep the child window open? Yes keep it orphaned.
How do I get the contents of an element in the opener and show them in the child?
What I'm trying to do is something like this:
In the opener: <h1 id="pgtitle">Office XP</h1>
In the child: function gt_pageCont () { var pagetitle = window.opener.document.getElementById("pgtitle"); var pagetext = "<h1>""+title+""</h1><p>Here are some more info about "" +title+ "".</p>"; document.write(pagetext); }
and: <body onload="gt_pageCont();">
I know that something is missing in the function, because I've tested it and the child displays [Object] instead of "Office XP".
This is it- when i create the button code with HTML without script language on the page the button works well but when javascript code added is added to the page the button disappears. If i create the button with javascript it appears but does not open the next window.
code to make this button work? In the parent window when 2 is input in the textbox and 'OK' button clicked, the second window opens with 2 textbox and 'SUBMIT' button. If 'SUBMIT' button is clicked in the child window i want it to open the new window.
For some reason pop up windows are no longer working on my pc. And no, I dont have any popup killer installed. The problem is across all websites I look at on my browser.
I have a page displayuser.php. This page is actually displaying a list of users and at each displyed user there is a drop down list is displayed. The drop down list displays chat animators. When i choose a animators from the drop downlist, it displays a pop up window called ( chat.php ) with the chosen chat animator and the selected user to chat. When i choose another user to chat, the new pop up window override/reopen on the first pop up window. (that is the new pop up window closed the first pop up window to be able to open).
Me i want it to display several pop up windows(several chat.php windows) when different users are selected. The pop up windows should have the same name.
