Checking Input Fields(text) Value When Field Is Loosing Focus
Mar 17, 2006
I have a input field (text field) in my html page. User should give input as a string like following 12 345 678,0 If user gives input in format 12345678,0 and leves the input field how can I format the value 12345678,0 into format 12 345 678,0?
Copy the value from the [correct] text box to the Value=”” section of the now hidden field in the PayPal form That way, no matter whether they [BUY NOW] or [ADD to CART] the right size is submitted to the PayPal shopping cart. This is the actual PayPal code that I’m trying to change
I got this far, and then decided to find how to insert the "enteredVALUE" into the right place in the input text field (what I called output) and I've not been able to figure out how to stuff it in there.
I'm using thickbox for getting a popup at my screen where the user can write info into inputfields.Only I want that the first inputfield is selected/focus.I have use the following codes but nothing is working.
I am having a form with two input fields. I want to enter some text in the first input field and then the second field should get the same text. Is there a simple way (maybe a plugin) to do this with jQuery? It would be perfect if I even could output all these input fields values as normal text in <p> or <li> tags.
I'm currently working on a project using Ajax (just for a little background) bascially I click on a button and it loads the editing tool on the paragraph tag i've clicked on (well thats the idea). The ajax bits themselves aren't the problem I appear to have a this.elementId in my class loosing data or becoming undefined somehow. Code:
I'm using JS to dynamically change the CSS attrib's of User Input Fields in a form. It works fine for text input fields but does not seem to work at all for TEXTAREAS. (IE6) Is there a tweak that might overcome this limitation? Code:
I'm trying to make a form with a postal code input. But there are 6 input fields within a div container. When some one types just one letter they automatically go to the next input field this continuing until they reach the last input area.
I'm developing am income tax calculator, and everything is going swell. Currently the user can type in their adjusted gross income (AGI), hit submit, and learn the amount of income tax they would pay, their tax rate, and their income after tax.
I've played around with the events to get the submit button to work in FF, IE, Chrome and Safari -- and I've gotten the enter button to work before with some stock code, but here's the catch: when the user presses enter, i want the focus to leave the input box. I don't care where it goes (submit button, I suppose?) but i need it to leave the input field so the onfocus="clearText(this);" event can fire when they return to type in a new income.
how to do what i wanted. I've got a .pdf file with a bunch of text fields, i would like it to make it so that when the user has focus (is writing in or clicked it) on of the fields it shows a different field with information on how to fill out that field and which field to procede to. Ive figured out how to show a field when focus is on another field, but cant get it to hide again when focus goes to something else.
Assuming I have the functions, "isNumber" and "isEmpty", how would I write the HTML INPUT type="text" element such that a person cannot exit the element unless they have typed in a valid number (as defined by the function isNumber) or left the field empty (as defined by isEmpty)? Thus, if they have typed in "aaa" and then pressed "Tab" to go the next element, they'd get a warning message, and be returned to the old element?
Ideally, this solution would work for both the latest versions of Firefox and IE.
I pull product price from another page. Then I multiply it with quantity entered in the quantity input field. The problem is, if I forget to enter quantity value before I pull product information or if I change the quantity field later, the final total price is not updated.
Good: If the user clicks inside the text box, but after the default text, the text gets cleared and the cursor shows up at the beginning of the text box.
Bad: If the user clicks inside the text box, but directly on the default text, the text gets cleared, but the cursor is not displayed and the text box does not have the focus. In order to start typing, the user must click on the text box again.
So my question is: If the cursor is inside a string of text which gets cleared, is there a way to reinstate the cursor and the text box focus?
I got an unusual request form a client. I got a form and I have to get values from certain input fields and assign them as a value to a hidden field and then submit it through php.I'm using mootools (1.11). I was tinkering around that for a day and wasn't able to solve it. Here is the html:
Code: <div> <label for="primary_domain0">Primary Domain Name <span class="req">*</span></label>

I have the following html, field xxx requires a number from 0 to 100 when percentage is selected, and 0 to inifinity when dollar is selected.what's the best practice to setup validation for this?the key is to control the maximum value.I have tried depends expression in a max rule, but it doesn't seem that it can satisfy my requirement.
