Calling From CSS - Display A Logo From Within The HTML Code

Dec 22, 2009

Normally in CSS you can use background: to bring in an image or a swf file and then display a logo over it from within the HTML as below.

.row-logo{ background: url(banners/boats_harbor.jpg) 0 0 no-repeat; height:172px;}
.row-logo img{ width:387px; height:110px; margin:0 0 0 0;}
<div class="row-logo"><a href="index.html"><img src="banners/ehba_logo.png" alt="" /></a></div>

However, I am currently working on a banner that rotates through images via javascript that I want to have in the background under css and still be able to display a logo from within the HTML code. As shown above, that is easy with a picture, but how do you call the javascript and then its ID from within the HTML?

Fancybox Zoom Feature And How To Display Html In Source Code?

Sep 13, 2010

I'm not exactly sure as to whether this question should be posted here or on the php forum, but I think it mainly has to do with fancybox's zoom feature. My problem is this.

I'm doing SEO for an already established site and this site has a features area with about three different options that use the fancybox zoom script. These boxes all contain pertinent information (SEO heavy) about each option as well as links to different sites. All of the info displayed is pulled from a database via php.

I would like to be able to display the descriptions as searchable content, and be able to track how many people click on the external links, but as it is now none of this shows up on the source code. The fancybox zoom feature seems to open up another window within my main page.

My question is this. Is there anyway that I can retain fancybox and get the content to come up under the source code? Or does this maybe even sound like an unusual effect from fancybox.

I can send some code later, if anyone needs it. I just didn't want to throw everything in here all at once, because it's quite a bit of code involved.

JQuery :: Code A Page With Code - User To Be Able To Move Html Elements Around

Mar 23, 2011

I am trying to make a gui for clients to edit a php page that displays html and javascript.

I want the user to be able to move html elements around and even edit it like add effects like fade in and out etc.

Then after all the changes I want to overwrite the existing php file that does this for that user. how can you make such changes and then save it to a file?

It's an html / javascript editor but using a gui instead of allowing them to directly touch the code. It would be a security risk if I allow such a thing. So I need to program a interface that would make such changes and save them to file.

Like how can you delete and add new javascript code to the file?

Calling Multiple HTML Name Ids Into One Function?

Mar 1, 2009

I have an html page which currently has two different text input (I'd like to add more if I can get the two to work!) I then want to output the calculated taxes (eventually I want to add on calculated profit as well) then output the taxes to my page.

My question is, if I input 2 or more dollar amounts, how can I have just one function that calls each of the input ids so I can run them all through one function instead of a different function for each name id? Right now I have a jillion lines of code, and it seems like I should be able to enter each one of these through one function.

Also, is it possible to convert my text to parseFloat within that same one function? Or do I need a separate function that converts each name id to parseFloat?

this is the segment of the html page:

<script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript" src="calculate.js">

This is one portion of my function that calculates taxes. You can see I have "amount1" called in the function, this is where I am confused as to how I can change this code to call "amount1" then "amount2", then more and more as I want to be able to add on as many amount fields as I would like.

function calculate(getvalueFromField){
if (amount1 > 0 && amount1 <= 5000) {
taxincome = amount1 * .10;
return taxincome;

Currently just trying to call functions from a .js file from my .html file. Here is the code, can't figure out why it doesn't work? Calling A Window Function From Within The Html Document Body

Jul 18, 2011

In this example, the same javascript window function is called by two separate form buttons(onClicks) to open('' ) or bring forward( 'object.focus') a window.

One button calls the window function directly from the form and one button calls the window function indirectly from within the body of the html document by first activating a 'document.submit' method .

In particular, using a PC with either Explorer or Firefox, both indirect and direct routes opened a window, but only the direct route could bring the window forward(via 'object.focus') if it was already open. Using a Mac with Firefox, the direct route worked well either to open or to bring forward an existing window, but the indirect route did nothing. On the other hand, when using a Mac with the Safari browser, both routes worked well to open a window and keep it on top.

What do I change or add to get full functionality for the indirect route with the Firefox and Explorer browsers as I get with Safari?

For script, view source at [url]

Is where one line of the logo goes.

logox = 100;
logoy = 100;

the x and y cord of where you want the logo to be

logocolor = "lightgrey";
the color of the logo

function stage1(){
start = setInterval("anilogo('visibility','visible','stage2()')",100);
function stage2(){
created2 = created.split(",");
start = setInterval("anilogo('background','black','stage3()')",100);

start = setInterval("anilogo('background','green','stage4()')",100);
function stage4(){
created2 = created.split(",");
start = setInterval("anilogo('visibility','hidden','')",100);

this is where the animation stuff is controled. If you want it should be pretty easy to figure out. Otherwise I will look through it later and figure it out...
