Svg Circle With Fixed Radius
May 13, 2006Anyone know how to make an svg circle radius fixed (i.e. not affected
by transforms)? I tried adding px or cm, e.g. r=ཋpx' but it just
generates an error.

I've been searching for a way to get border-radius working in Internet Explorer by using JavaScript or a JavaScript library like jQuery. With so many browsers now supporting border-radius, it just seems silly to me that we use all this extra markup just for rounded corners in IE.
View 7 Replies View RelatedWe have to set up a page that when you input the center and radius of two circles it will tell you whether they are inside one another or overlapping or not. Here is what I have so far...

I am trying to create a circle with different images.
var j = 0;
var degree30 = Math.PI/6;
var r_angle = 0;
function rotate(idy){
var x = parseInt(Math.cos(r_angle)*100);
var y = parseInt(Math.sin(r_angle)*100);
document.getElementById(idy).style.left = (x + 300);
document.getElementById(idy).style.top = (y + 186);
j++;
(r_angle < degree30 * 11) ? r_angle = degree30 * j : r_angle = 0;
( j < 12) ? setTimeout("rotate('reduit'+ j)", 400) : stop();
}
I wanna get all the text nodes of the children of an element. The goal is to get an array with all the textNodes in each cell of a table, without any other nodes that might ocure whithin that cell (<p>, <br> etc...)
I mean if:
<td>12</td>
<td>1<p>23<b>34</b>5</p>6</td>
I need:
var txt = new Array()
txt[0] = ཈'
txt[1] = ?'
Now I had to circle through all the childNodes to extract all the text nodes. I have build a function, but something is wrong in the code, and I don't sense what. I need soime fresh eyes, any ideeas? Where's the mistake?:
<script type="text/javascript">
function checkCell(){
var allC = document.getElementById('tab').getElementsByTagName('td');//cells' collection
var txt = new Array()
for(var i=0;i<allC.length;i++){
txt[i]=''
while(allC[i].hasChildNodes()){
var chC = allC[i].childNodes;
for(var j=0;j<chC.length;j++){
if(chC[j].nodeType==3){
txt[i]+=chC[j].data;
}
}
allC[i]=allC[i].childNodes;
}
}
alert(txt[1])
}
onload=checkCell;
</script>
I want place custom text rotating around analogue clock.

But it have a few unnecessary features which is difficult to alter.
i want:
1. replace week/year/days in external circle with my custom text: 'My
custom text'
2. I want to reduce a little rotation speed of this text. (no mouse
reaction speed)
3. I do not need mouse trail effect at all, i want fix clock in

There is another script, but it have no rotating text wheel around

I currently create a grid of svg circles made up of rows. I can animate a circle from one row moving into another row, sorted by some attribute value. But when I use a selector to fetch all circles within a row I get them ordered by when they were added to the underlying DOM.
Is there a way, if I created a group for each row, that when I move a circle from one row and insert it into another I actually remove the svg object from one group and insert in into the other so that it's correctly positioned in the underlying DOM?
I've created a page with an image of a man where a user is able to click on an area and a div is positioned at that point containing a white circle. This code works in all browsers except IE 6 where it creates a duplicate white circle beneath the one which is placed in the correct location. How to get rid of this second circle? The circle is essentially a div with a background image assigned.

Doing in html5 canvas, so JavaScript (was not sure where to post, but here I go...). Above is a link to picture that I need to do. It is clock-like. I will have to draw a circle, and two lines, from centre to according points on circle. That is not a problem, the thing I can not do is to fill upper and lower parts of circle that those two lines divide, so upper part of a circle should be e.g. red, and lower blue. (Plus, it would have to bi gradient, to look more appealing).
i have the following test code in my html page
<div id="drawingArea">
<svg xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg" version="1.1" width="700" height="400"> <circle id="example" cx="335.4999" cy="234.38927" r="8" style="cursor: move;" fill-opacity="0.1"></circle> </svg></div>

Iam using Raphael and add the same question in their google group too, but they said, its jquery specific. I think, jquery doesnt found my circle. Maybe different id - handling between SVG-specific and plain DOM elements?
I came up with the idea of making the links in the back of the circle (i've got a total of 10 links), invisible and put a globe in the middle (as background) - making it look like the links in the back go behind the globe and comes back from behind it again. I've tried to do this myself with .this.style.invisibility="hidden";

I have a div with headers. Of course, when there are too many rows, you have to scroll and lose the headers of the form. How can I accomplished "fixed headers?" so that they're always visible?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm having an issue with a problem with Javascript on my website. Please note I didn't create the javascript someone else did a long time ago and I'm using it with their permission and they are no longer on the internet or in webpage ways.
The basic problem is that these pages work just fine in IE6 and IE7 but with Firefox 1 and 2 they work but not as they are suppose to. Code:
what im trying to do is get a paragraph tag to display like a textbox
but put links in there which can be clicked on. (so a textbox wont
work). i want each <pto have the same length (regardless of link
length) so they line up ok when placed in rows.
is this possible?
here is my styling so far of the <p:
style='padding:none;margin:0; display:inline; width:100px;'
this gets the p on the same line as the other stuff (which i want) but
can get the width to work?!
First off by let me stating that I am not a great web devloper nor am I a good with css / javascript. I am creating this website for a friend of mines company and I have one problem.The problem is that the navigation menu on the right side will not remain fixed how i want it to be. I spoke with many people and they all said that this cannot be done with css considering your layout and because it needs to dodge the headers and the footer. I basically want this div (sidenav on the right) to scroll along the page as users scroll up or down but it can not interfere with the header or footer. I do not want the right side navigation to go over the content or out of the wrapper. I want it to stay in the same position in all aspects - left / right / top / bottom. Here is a link to the site [URL].

There are more lines of links than will fit in the table. So i need to have ascroll bar on the right within the table to access the rest of the links.
I have played with code for drop down menus and opening in frames etc, with no real problem, but in this instance i have to display them in a fixed size table, can anyone point me in the right direction.
I have a "Roaming Companion" on my sites index page (www.studylinks.org - look for the red R) and I would like to fix its size and disable the expand and maximize functions. I assume it's in the Java rather than the HTML or CSS but do tell me if i'm wrong.I'm new to the forum so please forgive any posting/etiquette errors on my part. Javascript Document
function doPopups() {
if (!document.getElementsByTagName) return false;
var links=document.getElementsByTagName("a");

I'm using this script above the </body> tag in a CC instead of using IE expressions to fake position fixed in IE 6.
Code JavaScript:
<script type="text/javascript">
window.onscroll = fixedIE;

I just thought this might require some javascript, so I posted this here. Anyway, how do I create an element that is absolutely positioned first, and then, when it goes to the top of the page, it becomes fixed?

I've written a small javascript library to help automate Ajax requests
and the like. One of the things I want the library to do is display a
"Please wait" indicator in the upper right hand corner of the viewport
while requests are processing.
What I do is append a div element to the document body, set it's
position to fixed and set the top and right to 0. This works great in
Firefox and Opera, but not in IE.
var processing = document.createElement('div');
processing.appendChild(document.createTextNode('Pr ocessing...');
processing.style.position = 'fixed'
processing.style.top = 0;
processing.style.right = 0;
document.body.appendChild(processing);
In IE this element displays in it's normal position (at the bottom of
the page) as though it has a position: relative or position: static.
I've seen tricks using css and things like height: 100% and overflow-
yL auto, but these never seem to work when I try them
programmatically. And because I may want to distribute this, I don't
want to require that the end user go through any gyrations for ths to
work.
I'm designing a one page portfolio site. I was able to make this work when I redid it last year but I'm having problems again. I have a fixed header with the content scrolling underneath it. I want the user to be able to click a link and it eases to that point. I got this script from web designers wall. I am such a novice with jquery I don't know where to begin to make this work. I'm not sure how to call from the link in the header to the element on the page. The thing is, inside the contain div underneath the header I have split it into two columns and i've had to rename the divs, I don't know if this is what is causing the problem. For example, in the navigation it is called "work" but I need to call it to I'm guessing "content-work"?? Also would the fact that the jquery loading in the page from google is 1.7.0 while the script is only written in 1.4.2...does that matter?? If I need to post my css I will.
