Prevent Thirty-party Css Code From Damaging Own Page Style?

Mar 13, 2011

How to prevent thirty-party css code from damaging my own page style?

My Case condition:

1. Page's style can be customized by third-party css code

2. Page has its own private section which doesn't allow other code modify its style.

For example:

Page may like this:

<div class="page"><div class="other"></div><div class=".psm"><h2></h2></div></div>

Thirty party code may like this:

.page{ color: red;}
.page h2{color: blue; font-size: 100px;} /* danger: it will influence the .psm h2 which is a private section */

So, how to provide a way to satisfy above two condition? which means letting thirty-party css code customize all page content but the private section?

Prevent FrameBreaker From Breaking Out Of 3rd Party IFRAME

Jul 23, 2007

I have a frame breaker script that is used on a site that I maintain. The problem is I need to implement a tracking tag from a 3rd party vendor that requires their tag to be in an <IFRAME>.

Unfortunately this causes an infinite loop/refresh on the site. How can I make sure that the site is broken out of frames but that the iframe coded on the site does not try to break out of itself? Code:

Link Code To Prevent Exit Pop-up For Internal?

Aug 22, 2009

I have the original script I was using along with a modified script sent back to me from someone in another forum. They also advised me to add rel="external" to all of my external links. I'm not sure if a different condition would apply whether the link stayed within my site or went elsewhere.In any event, it's still not working. The changes get me to my desired page on internal links, but the pop-up still engages and I have to click "OK" before it takes me there.I'm obviously looking to get this to work so that all internal links go straight to the page they're defined to, without the pop-up engaging at all.Both script versions are below:

My original:

<script type="text/javascript">
var internal = 0;
function bunload() {

Prevent Page Access More Than Once?

May 18, 2010

I'm a WYSIWIG developer who can poke around in the code, modify existing scripts, etc. I need to prevent any user from loading a page twice, so they can only access a prize code one time. Setting a cookie is the first thing that comes to mind, which can be worked around by the motivated useras to other ways to block the user from accessing the page more than once? Something other than Javascript a better choice? Keep in mind my ideal solution is an existing bit of code that I can modify to my needs.

How To Prevent Massive Downloading Of My Page?

Nov 23, 2006

I have a following problem:
from time to time an attack on my page is performed,
overloading the server. The administrators had to limit the
access to the page to some domains only. I would like to
keep the page open for everybody.

Probably I should introduce a JavaScript/CGI driven form and
let user to copy some letters etd. before letting him
entering the page.

I am sure there are many solutions to this problem around,
but I don't know what to search for. Can you give me some
tips where to start?

I think the attacs are just casual, there are no real
reasons why should anybody try to copy or destroy the page
(no commerece, no money to loose or gain), so probably I
should start with something simple.

Integrate Third-party Libraries In Userscripts

Dec 30, 2011

I need to use a couple of third-party Javascript libraries which have multiple JS files. Since @require doesn't work on Chrome, how can I add multiple external JS libraries to a userscript? I'm considering all the possibilities before choosing one.I know you can add jQuery using this method. I have personally used that. But all my other code would have to run inside the main function of this code! I think that would be a problem when there are many libraries to work with.

i can't figure this out, it was working fine before, and i did a few updates and now it only works when the button is pressed but not if i type into the form and press 'enter'. i don't want he page to reload at all. (also the entire wrapper for my page is hidden using css, a loading image is displayed until the onload event fires, then the wrapper uses jQuery's .slideDown(2000), so if javascript is off they won't even see the form, i'm not concerned about browsers with javascript disabled, i *only* want them to be able to type in the field and hit enter or click the send button to post the data via ajax with no page reload. i'll make it more accessible later)

JQuery :: Code A Page With Code - User To Be Able To Move Html Elements Around

Mar 23, 2011

I am trying to make a gui for clients to edit a php page that displays html and javascript.

I want the user to be able to move html elements around and even edit it like add effects like fade in and out etc.

Then after all the changes I want to overwrite the existing php file that does this for that user. how can you make such changes and then save it to a file?

It's an html / javascript editor but using a gui instead of allowing them to directly touch the code. It would be a security risk if I allow such a thing. So I need to program a interface that would make such changes and save them to file.

Like how can you delete and add new javascript code to the file?

Monitoring & Timing 3rd Party Script On A Site?

Jul 30, 2010

We have a web site that has various 3rd party javascript components on it, such as google analytics code, ad code, etc... JavaScript that executes in the browser and that we have no control over. We'd like to monitor and time the execution of these various blocks of 3rd party code so that we know exactly how long the page is taking to render to the end user. My first thought was to have some sort of JavaScript stopwatch that started immediately when the page began rendering, and then when various 3rd party JS components finished, the stopwatch would report back to a web service we expose noting which 3rd party code block just finished and how much time had elapsed. This web service would log all these reports.

Test Whether A Client Has 3rd Party Cookies Enabled?

Jun 23, 2009

I want to be able to test whether a client has 3rd party cookies enabled.Inside site I have an iframe to another site that I (partially) control. [I dont control some of the javascript functions, and the HTML layout, but I do own most of the content and am the designer involved]. One of the things on this site [that I don't control] is a script that tests whether cookies are enabled or not. Since it is within an iframe, it is a 3rd party cookie and thus generates an error message in the form of an alert stating that cookies are not properly enabled. I want to be able to test to see if 3rd party cookies are enabled so that if they are not then I will not generate the iframe and instead display a phone number to contact else it will display the proper iframe.
