Onmouseover Hover Text - Highlight Each Section
Nov 20, 2011I have several sections in a text, and I would like to highlight each section as mouse rolls over.. I've tried to span the fragments of text but it doesn't work in my jsp.

Jan 17, 2011I am trying to dynamically add an area to a map and hilight it on hover. I can accomplish this in the html code like this...

I can add the area successfully with javascript like this...

The only thing I cannot figure out is how to add the "class" to the element which sets the properties for the highlighting. It will not allow me to do this,
element.class="{fillColor:ff0000}".
Onmouseover / Hover For Different Divs?
Jun 30, 2010I need a onmouseover / hover effect.I already found several solutions for changing the SAME background color e.g. as the div you move the mouse over.But what I need is...a navigation div... where, when I move my mouse over, DIFFERENT divs (at least two) will change its color (and changes it back to the default color after mouse isn't over it anymore)...And it also should change the image of the navigation button itself as well as some other graphic. (the last two I already have)

Onmouseover Vs Css Hover (remembering Last Position)?
Mar 14, 2011So I have this vertical menu with a few options. Originally it was pure CSS with a basic a:hover to change the background of the menu item. But then it was decided that whichever menu item you last had your mouse on should remain in that hover state.
So I went ahead an busted out some Javascript. Now I'm not exactly talented with Javascript as it's not one of my main languages. This is what I came up with.

And I have a couple of classes, like so:

What I want to do is apply the .highlight class to a sentence (not the entire paragraph) on hover, and apply the .strikethrough class to a sentence on click. It's easy to find a sentence using regex, but I don't know how to add/remove a span to just that particular sentence that is being hovered over. I know I could programatically wrap each sentence in <span>...</span> tags on the backend, but I was hoping there was a better solution.

I want the user to be able to select the text they want to highlight, and the background color of that text changes to whatever color they have selected.

So now the onmouseover has again its value [the original one, copied by doing an alert($("#"+elem+i).attr('onmouseover')) when i disable the onmouseover event], but it doesn't work

Dec 11, 2010I'm working on an educational website for reading strategies where I would like to have the possibilty for the user to highlight text and the possibilty to check their highlighted answers.User task: Mark all the cause and effect connectors (because, so, therefore etc) in the text.Now I want the user to take the mouse and go over the text and mark all these connectors in the text. After marking the entire text the user will get feedback for his correct and incorrect answers and a possibilty to correct his mistakes.If the user marks in the sentence "He got hurt, because he fell of his bike." the word 'because' I would like somewhere else on the page be written that he did this correctly. If he would mark the word 'hurt' I would like the user to get a feedback saying that this answer is incorrect.Is this possible with simple html or do I need something else. If I need something else what do I need and maybe there is already a ready to use script for this.
