Jquery :: Filter Child Select List Based On A Parent Select List

I have two select lists which are being styled using the jQuery UI Selectmenu script. This script hides the select elements and writes out its own ULs with the input elements as LIs.

I am trying to write some conditions so that if a user chooses an element from select list 1, it hides some elements from select list 2. Here is the HTML being generated dynamically by the script copied from Firebug:

<ul id="role-menu" aria-labelledby="role-button" role="listbox" aria-hidden="true" class="ui-selectmenu-menu ui-widget ui-widget-content ui-corner-bottom form-select ui-selectmenu-menu-dropdown">
<li role="presentation" class="ui-selectmenu-item-selected current">

JQuery :: Limit If A Value Can Be Selected In A Drop Down List (select) Based On Other List
I have a page that displays a list of people playing in a tournament. I need to be able to generate a Leaderboard based on which players are manually selected by the admin. Next to each person there is a drop-down list. An admin can go in and select a "slot" that a player should be in on the leader board from 1 to 8, or leave it blank if none. What I need to figure out how to do is the following, when a change event happens on a drop-down list, and say the value 5 is selected, I need to check to make sure that 5 is not already selected in one of the other players drop-down lists, in other words, that the 5th leaderboard slot is not already full. if it is, display an error message and make them change that one first. how to do that with jQuery? I'm thinking it will have something to do with the each() function, but not sure exactly how the logic should work.

Jquery :: Select Groups Of Child Elements Based On Parent DIV
I have a normal html page with stuff like divs and links with images:

<div>
<a href="foo.jpg"> ... </a>
<a href="boo.jpg"> ... </a>
</div>

<div>
<a href="bah.jpg"> ... </a>
<a href="gah.jpg"> ... </a>
</div>

I'm trying to hook a lightbox script on all links that end with jpg/gif/png extensions. Right now, based on a previous question I asked :), I have:
$('div a').filter(function(){
return this.href.match('[.jpg|.png|.gif]$');
}).colorbox({
rel: 'gallery'
});

Which groups all links inside gallery. But I would want to group links from each div inside their own gallery. For example .foo' & .boo links inside a gallery1 and .bah & .gah inside gallery2 and so on... How can I do that?

Php - Can't Get Selected Values From A Multiple Select List To Insert Into Other Select List
I've been trying to get selected values from a drop down list on my page in order to swap them. I've tried looking for solutions online but I'm stumped. For some reason, s1[i].selected doesn't work at all. Here's my javascript code:

<script type="text/javascript">
function swaprows(s1, s2)
{
var items = "";

[Code]....

Because I'm doing a post action with the submit buttons I need to name my lists as selectsizes[] and selectedsizes[] respectively so that I can then pass their selected values via the post variable.

JQuery :: How To Select Anything Is Child Of Current List Item
I have a list of pages and the structure looks like this:
<div id="menu">
<ul> <!--List of pages-->
<li class="page-item page-id">
<a href="Page url"> Ham Man </a>
<ul class="children">
<li class="page-item page-id">
<a href="Page url"> Page 1</a></li>
<li class="page-item page-id">
<a href="Page url"> Page 2</a></li>
</ul></li></ul></div>

My problem is this- There are multiple titles like 'Ham Man'. So what I need to is work a bit of jQuery so when someone clicks on a title, it displays the PAGES for that title. Easy enough. But when I have multiple titles, this gets tricky. What I need to say is "When someone clicks on a li element in the menu column, display all of the Child Elements (class 'children') Just for that LI element". A solid Plan B is just to have Wordpress drop a class of 'Parent' into the 'Parent' elements.

Php - Select An Option In A Dropdown List Based On A Selection In Another Dropdown List?
I have two DropDown lists which are already populated from the database. If you select a value in DropDownlist1 - Dropdownlist2 gets the same value that was selected in Dropdownlist1.But the code is based on switch case and also the options are hard coded ! In future - Many options might spring up and it will not work !So what I want is If you select an option in Dropdown list 1 - The option should be selected in DropDown list 2 based on the "value" and not "index" Like here

function showSelected(f) {
var selNum = f.type1.selectedIndex;
//var selText = f.type1.options[selNum].text

Jquery :: Populating Child Drop Down Based On What Was Selected From Parent Drop Down List
I am using the latest version of jQuery and ASP.NET MVC 3 with the Razor view engine.

I have tried Google looking for a decent example of loading a child drop down list when a parent drop down item is selected. I am looking to do this via jQuery AJAX using JSON. My knowledge of this is zero.

I have a Category class with a list of categories. It's a parent-child association.

If I select a category from the parent drop down list, then all the child categories need to be listed in the child drop down list for the selected parent category.

This is what I currently have, but need to complete it, not sure if I am in the right direction:

$(document).ready(function () {
$('#ddlParentCategories').change(function () {
alert('changed');
});
});

[Code]....

It goes into my AjaxBindingChildCategories action and it brings back records, it just doesn't want to display my child category dropdownlist. I had a look in Fire Bug and the error that I get is:

GET AjaxBindingChildCategories?parentCategoryId=1

500 Internal Server Error

JQuery :: Open/Close TDs Based Upon Select List <option> Values
My mission: Open/collapse TD cells based on items selected in a list box. Getting no response from jQuery so I've done something wrong but cant quite get there. Listbox 'mainselect' contains option values that refer to names of TDs in a table. When a mainselect option is clicked, it will toggle to open or close the referenced TD list box by option value. Does hide/show make a TD 'blank' or actually set it's width to '0'? I want it to close, moving other cells left.

I want to be able to change the html of the LI tag using some kind of jquery code. The idea is to change the class of the anchor tag from "btnsignin" to another class called "btnsignout" once the user has logged in. I will use this code inside the ajaxForm success callback function to change the class of anchor tag.

Here is my html:

<div id="top-nav">
<ul class="top-nav">
<li><a id="login-link" class="btnsignin" title="Login">Admin Zone</a></li>

JQuery :: Filter A List Based On User Input?
I have a list of songs, and I want users to be able to filter them by typing into a text field. Here's what I'm doing now:

$("#filter_song_list").keyup(function() {
var filter = new RegExp($(this).val(), "i");
$("ul.song_list a").each(function(){

[code]....

Since I'm interpreting the user's input as a regular expression, he can't search for songs with (say) a period in the title without first escaping it ("."). How can I fix this while still maintaining the case-insensitivity of the search?

Ajax :: Select Objects From One List And Move Them Into Another List With Updating The Server?
I have an application that has 200-300 student objects. Users can make study groups that contain 5 or 15 or 30 students. What I'd like to do is offer an easy way to select users from the big list and move them into the smaller list. I'm not sure about the best way to go about this.

The first problem is that the first list probably needs to be paged... because it'll contain too many students to list on the screen all at once.

The second problem is that they might want to search for a student given their name, or username... and then once given a sub-set of students, they can select them and move them to the study group list.

All the while, it would be nice to update the serverside as the user adds and removes students from the study group rather than do it all at once on a submit.

Is there a jquery or javascript library that offers this sort of functionality out of the box? Or will I need to customize it?

JQuery :: Select A Sub-list From A Long List?
I have a MySQL table with 90 columns and I want the users to be able to select any columns they concern and output the result accordingly. In the front-end, I can use a group of checkbox which looks very ugly and I can not setup the orders for selected columns. Is there a plug-in or some examples in jQuery, that I can make 2 parallel boxes (i.e. an original-box and a selected-box). the original- box lists all of the column names at the beginning and there is a way to move items between two boxes. And the order of items in the selected-box can be adjusted. the items in the selected-box will be used to build into an array in my backend code.

Jquery :: Remove/add Select Options After Cloning Select List?
I need to be able to clone a drop down list and filter only those options that were NOT yet selected in the group of select lists.

For example, having the following:

<select name="SelectService" class="selService">
<option value="1">Some service</option>
<option value="2">Another one</option>
<option value="3">One more</option>
</select>

When i click the "clone" button it would clone the select list with ONLY those options that have NOT been yet selected.

ex: select option "Some service" -> hit clone -> new select list is added with only option values: 2 and 3.

etc..cloning and removing select lists would re-fill the select lists based on options selected so far.

EDIT: to better visualize it here is the screen shot:

SCENARIO:

i start off with only 1 drop down
list (that has 5 options) =>
1,2,3,4,5 -> first options is selected by default.

[Code]....

..and so on.

Now, When I remove Select list #2 (or any other select list) that means ALL select lists should re-fresh and include the selected option from deleted select list (in our case #2)

Jquery :: Getting A Select Value From Rails Wildcard Named Select List?
So I need to call the value of a select dropdown list where I've named the select list as a wild card value (It's a wild card value because there are multiple dropdown lists I make for every iteration of User with a specific property.

= select_tag "#{user.id}", options_for_select([["User", "0"], ["Admin", "1"]]),
:onchange => "setTimeout('admin_change(#{user.id});', 300);

So, then in a javascript block at the top I have this

function admin_change(id) {
change_value = $(#id).val();

Following this I execute a different $.AJAX command based on the change_value pulled.
