I'm developing a site where the client needs a drop down nav <ul> menu. I'm using jquery to do this and it all works just fine except for the actual href aspect. The drop menu animation is functioning perfectly, but when the actual links are clicked on, the target url doesn't load. Just trying to get the links to function.
Here's the test url. The only two pages I have live are index.php and scp.php so we'll have to conduct our test by clicking back and forth between those.
[URL]
The code from my jquery config script file is below:
// drop down menu functionality
$(document).ready(function(){
$( '#menu > li > ul' )
.hide()
I have a following menu that I'd like to be collapsible. <ul id="#menu-sidebar"> <li>Menu item 1 <ul><li>Menu item 1.1</li> <ul></li> <li>Menu item 2 <ul><li>Menu item 2.1</li> </ul></li></ul> This collapses and expands them, but of course all at same time. $('#menu-sidebarli ul').hide(); $("#menu-sidebarli").click(function(){ $("#menu-sidebarli").toggle(); $(this).toggleClass("active"); }); I've been trying to experiment with the .next() trying to get the next ul li ul element but with little luck. $('#menu-sidebar li ul').hide(); $("#menu-sidebar li").click(function(){ $("#menu-sidebar ul li").next().toggle(); $(this).toggleClass("active");
assist with how to modify a specific css value of an object? For example, I want to do over all children of "body", and see if they have any css attributes containing a url(xxxxx) part. If so, I would like to make some change to that url (replace it with something else).
Im trying to parse an XML file that has holds the URLs to about 10 images. However, all the tutorials I have followed do not seem to work. Ive been trying this for a few days now and I was hoping one of your jQuery gurus may see something I dont.
Could anyone please tell me if there is any way i can have the text "Menu Loading Please Wait..." appear while the js menu loads and then disappear after it loads?
I have created a Javascript menu for my site which uses frames. The first stage loads fine but I want two drill down menus ("About Me Menu" and "Projects Menu"). The pages load fine, but the images aren't displayed, instead the alt text is shown. The images come up after you "Mouse Over" them but not before......can anybody spot any errors in my code which could be doing this please. For info, I have 4 images for each button, to take into acount whether the button had been used and to give a mouse-over image for each state. I have also deleted the code for items 3-5 as they are commercially sensitive. Code:
I'm having a small problem with JS drop down menu. The problem occurs only in IE6 and IE7 (surprisingly in IE8 everything works fine). The problem isn't big though. when you put pointer over drop down in IE, the drop down part loads 2/3 of drop down and in a moment loads other part. It's nothing big but is noticeable. If you have IE6 or 7 and any other browser you can compare it here: [URL]
var menu=function(){ var t=15,z=50,s=6,a; function dd(n){this.n=n; this.h=[]; this.c=[]} dd.prototype.init=function(p,c){ a=c; var w=document.getElementById(p), s=w.getElementsByTagName('ul'), l=s.length, i=0; for(i;i<l;i++){ var h=s[i].parentNode; this.h[i]=h; this.c[i]=s[i]; h.onmouseover=new Function(this.n+'.st('+i+',true)'); h.onmouseout=new Function(this.n+'.st('+i+')'); } } dd.prototype.st=function(x,f){ var c=this.c[x], h=this.h[x], p=h.getElementsByTagName('a')[0]; clearInterval(c.t); c.style.overflow='hidden'; if(f){ p.className+=' '+a; if(!c.mh){c.style.display='block'; c.style.height=''; c.mh=c.offsetHeight; c.style.height=0} if(c.mh==c.offsetHeight){c.style.overflow='visible'} else{c.style.zIndex=z; z++; c.t=setInterval(function(){sl(c,1)},t)} }else{p.className=p.className.replace(a,''); c.t=setInterval(function(){sl(c,-1)},t)} } function sl(c,f){ var h=c.offsetHeight; if((h<=0&&f!=1)||(h>=c.mh&&f==1)){ if(f==1){c.style.filter=''; c.style.opacity=1; c.style.overflow='visible'} clearInterval(c.t); return } var d=(f==1)?Math.ceil((c.mh-h)/s):Math.ceil(h/s), o=h/c.mh; c.style.opacity=o; c.style.filter='alpha(opacity='+(o*100)+')'; c.style.height=h+(d*f)+'px' } return{dd:dd} }();
I want use two jquery tags menu in one page.I tested each one alone, even more than 10 pages, they all loading correctly. When I open the page, then can stay in the div position they should stay.But when I conbain them together, there will be caused that when I open the page, the pictures will drop down untill all the pictures have been loaded. Then they come back to the position where they should stay.
i want to submit form data from the popup window, close the popup, and load in the main window. problem is, it always opens a new 'tab'. i'm using google chrome, i didn't think to try this in
in the <head> of the 'main' window: <script language='javascript' type='text/javascript'> window.name='main'; </script>
I have a form with a search field that I want to search two different databases depending on which radio button is selected. Below is the form I have for searching our library's online catalog. What I'd like to do is add a radio button to this form which would enable the same search box to search WorldCat, which has a different URL
However my problem occurs when the user uses the browsers back arrow to return to the previous page, the script executes again returning them once more to the page they have come from. Is anyone aware of a work around to this problem as it would seem there isn't one? perhaps even a better solution for opening the target page from the iframe as top location. This is really causing confusion for users, and I really need to get the issue fixed.
I would like to do something similar to the following link: http:[url]....In order to post links to websites I have done.how to do this without Frames?I see rockettheme uses Mootools but I have searched for mootools tutorials on this and couldn't find anything.
On my site, I would like to have jQuery automatically convert all plain-text URLs to links. For example, if I have the following in the BODY tag of my Web page: Go to [URL]to go to the Google Groups home page. I want it to be converted in to this: Go to <a href="http://groups.google.com">http://groups.google.com</a> to go to the Google Groups home page. I'm sure the prepend() and append() functions will be used, but how do I tell jQuery how to pick URLs out of the Web page, if they are not surrounded by separate tags? I'm sure if each URL was in a SPAN tag it would be much easier.
Entire Code Sample:[URL]I can get this code to work no problem if I create a second iFrame ("iNav") just to load the DHTML menu into. EX:
Code:
var FirstLineFrame=parent.iNav; // Frame where first level appears var SecLineFrame=parent.iNav; // Frame where sub levels appear var DocTargetFrame='icontent'; // Frame where target documents appear
However I would like to avoid this as I really just want the single iFrame on my page and then dynamically load content into the iFrame via the DHTML menu.
I am using this fancy box code to smoothly pop up an image on click, I got it working on my main index page but that's not where I want to put it. My site has a menu where it loads external webpages inside the main index one, I would like to use the code on one of those pages but something is not working.
I have been told its a DOCTYPE issue but I am not able to use the specified DOCTYPE, however I find that it works all the same with my current DOCTYPE choice. If I use the given one in addition to the one I use now (and need) then my site does not work properly, further if I replace it I get the same results.
My existing doctype:
Code:
<DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/strict.dtd" "http://www.w3.org/TR/1999/REC-html401-19991224/loose.dtd" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en">
[Code]....
I even tried using the exact code from the example in that linked .htm page but it doesn't make a difference, it probably even hinders the code as it looks at the main html page. However loading the page on its own the code will work, so its related to the menu and the way that works.

Apparently, this is for use of when you are modifying, for example, a PHP header or footer displayed on every page and you only want something to show up on particular pages. My issue is that I am trying to put something in the header of a Tumblr blog, and I only want it to show on the post pages.
I'm working on a project that has a logout button, but (like most things) it's kind of a hack. I'd really like the one logout window to actually hit two logout URLs. I only need to display one window that a person has logged out, but would like to end the session in both. I'm thinking I could use something like Code:
I have URLs as follows. [URL] I need a function which can retrieve substring from the above URLs. The substring should be upto the 2nd occurence of '/' as follows. [URL]
I have a database of URls' anf my web app calculates the loadtime of all this url one at a time and stores it in database,the way i am doing this is executing a javascript on onload event of iframe ,i want to calculate the cpu utilization of the sites as well and store it in database and have no clue to do this ,i can execute a system command like top but i can seem how to execute it in javscript,
JS isn't my usual language, but I'm venturing out to write a Chrome extension. This extension basically just injects a script on a page, so it behaves just like any other JS.Anyway, the script finds specific URLs on a specific page, and changes them slightly. I'm using regex to find these URLs. I've got one working, but I need another, and I can't figure it out.The first is this:Also, my skills with regex are miserable, so if you know of any way to make this better, I'm all ears. This matches URLs like this:Now I'm trying to match URLs like this:[URL]If you know how to modify the original regex so that it'll match the second kind of URL (but not the first)
I have a function which has two URLs that need to be posted via php onto a database. I had them as individual functions and they work fine but ideally I would like them to be done in the same function. For example, like the following... if (request !== null){ request.onreadystatechange = loginsuccess; //function to check RS=4 & Status = 200. request.open("GET", urllogonsubmit, urlrecieveemail,true); request.setRequestHeader("Content-Type", "application/x-www-form-urlencoded"); request.send(null); }
I want to run some 100 urls on chrome with out exiting and also with out any tabs i.e on same window it should load urls one after another. I have written a script which will load urls in inframe. But how can i do it to load from address bar.
I have a site that is very jQuery and image heavy. The main sections of the site link to sections that are built with several Tabs, and as it loads, you briefly see all the content load and then it is hidden by the Tabs code.
The plan is to have a full window DIV that sits above all the content with a loading icon that plays until the entire page loads, and then it fades down.
After some hair pulling and research I have code in place that does exactly as I ask, however it does not seem to work in IE6+7. It works in all other browsers.
