Save The Selected Option Through The Site?
Aug 2, 2010I have 10 navigation tabs in my website. Iam working on retaining the selected value from the drop down and should change the corresponding divs throughout the website....meaning based on selected value the content on all the pages should change...which should not let the user to select everytime ...
I was able to accomplish the toggling of divs, but was not able to save the selected value. Iam a novice to javascript and iam not sure where iam going wrong.
The selected value is being refreshed everytime i go to a new page/tab...which should not happen.The last selected option with its relevant div is not displaying.

I have a form with many huge lists ("select" with many "options") that depend on eachother. I am dynamically updating the form through server, and wish to update the list values by sending a mask string. This way I could remove and restore the options without the need to pass the whole list again.
I tried many ways but none work:
* option.diabled="disabled" is not good because it is still shown
* option.style.visibility='hidden' is not good because it is still taking a row
* option=null is not good because I will not be able to restore it
I need a method similar to the following one for remove/add fields in a form:

So when I choose an option from this list, I want to insert the options array into another option list with an id, value and text. Whats the best way of doing this? How do I select an array based on the value or text of a select option? For for example, take a list of car makes. If I choose the make Audi, how do I select the array of Audi models and insert these models into another select option list. All makes and models have their own numerical id, value and text.

Oct 12, 2009I have a form that uses jeditable to edit-in-place several fields and select boxes. Everything is working great. Now I need to a way to add a new option to the select list. What I would like is the user select "Add New..." from the select list that would pop-up a dialog window where several fields are filled in. When the form is saved the select field is updated with the new ID and description. I use Facebox for pop-up windows to display notes when the user clicks on a topic. I know Facebox can be used to display a form. It would be ideal to use this ability when creating a new option for the select box.

As you can see, it basically shows and hides the menu (when clicked). I want it to open the menu when clicked and close when another menu is opened. I have looked and have not been able to find a solution into it. Ideally I donot want it to be a long piece of code as I do have a working menu but with many more lines of JavaScript than the one I have posted.

if i have an xml file on a server, lets say a dvd collection. and i have a
form that gets information for a new dvd and i append this dvd to the dom.
This i can do no problem so far using javascript the only thing that i can
not do is save the changes this is easy in vb.net and c# but seeing as i
have to work with the server its a whole new world. I dont want to have to
use asp or anything that requiers expensive software and or ides. If it can
be done with jscript this would be great. or does this sort of thing depend
on the server itself?
