Expanding Menu To Stay Expanded When Click A Link To Go To Another Page While Navigating?

I am doing an internship at a company and am working on an existing site. The Company wants the expanding menu to stay expanded when you click a link to go to another page while navigating. I am very new to Javascript, CSS, and html and could really use some insight or code example.

I have a horizontal menu with some subitems. At the moment when I click on the main menu the submenu is being shown and it remains open even if I click anywhere on the page. But here is the tricky part, when I click on a menu item (in the submenu) I want the submenu to display the items on which the page is.For example the menu looks like this:home

I have a menu with some items containing a submenu. The submenu's should open when a parent is clicked and contains submenu's, and when traveling to another page (from the item clicked, for example a parent of submenu item), the submenu should remain active and visible.
When I click on a parent (at the moment the hrefs contain no links just #), the submenu opens. But when I click another main item, the submenu of the previous parent remain visible, and the submenu of the parent just clicked is also visible, while I only want the submenu of the parent clicked to be visible or when parent with no submenu the submenu should be invisible.

It was originally an imaged based menu, but they wanted it all changed to css/html. I used quickmenu and it used JS to produce the arrows at the top of each menu item.I'm trying to program the menu items to stay active when on the current page. At first, it looks correct, but if you hover back over the menu, it changes back to the inactive state.

as you can see the items hide/show on click using a simple jQuery toggle. My question is, is it possible to link to my website with one section already expanded from an external source. I hope this question makes sense. Iv tried and failed by linking to the div id using #link but cant get that to work.

I'm almost done customizing the Superfish jQuery menu to fit my web site theme. I have all of the menu hover and submenu hover styles in place, but I'm having a problem with the color of the top-level menu item's font when the submenu is expanded. The active top menu item's background matches the hover color, but when I hover overa submenu item, the font color reverts back to the original (non-hovered) color. How do I get the top level menu item's color to match its hover color when the submenu is expanded?

I'm creating a menu using html, css and a javascript, I found a tutorial to follow online. What I am trying to achieve is when the mouse hovers over the menu items, each item will have a different colour background. the problem is that i can do this but it only works with one colour and not different colours.this is the html:

I am building a page using a sort of tab format. You click a link and underneath it the text changes to suit the link. It all works great. But... I want the image link that they click to stay in the mouseover position. (The image changes from gray and black to white and blue) I want the image to stay white and blue.

Is it possible? Say We have a list of suppliers link like
A supplier
B supplier
when right click on a supplier, a context menu(that has
"details","view products", etc) appears and click on "view products
for this supplier" this click will redirect users to products page
showing all products from the supplier.
So href should look some like this

If I use jQuery 1.2.6 it work, but if I use last version 1.6 it stop working.

I am using a script for my navigation which is a vertical expanding menu that opens when clicked on. However when i have added another script which creates a scrolling marquee across the page, the menu links dont stay expanded as the page gets reloaded (ie. <a href="#".. ) as if its a normal link. I'll get to the hierarchy sensitive part next, but for now I need help making this even work with two top-level links. I'm building a left-navigation that's expandable. Click a little + box image to the left of a top-level section's link, and all the links to sub-sections within that section expand out, the + box image becomes a - box image, and clicking the - box collapses the sub menu links. The scripts below work so long as I just have one top-level section, but because they us an ID for the +-box image, when I add a second top-level menu item, the swapImage function no longer works. How do I make it work with a class instead of an ID? The JavaScript and HTML code is below:

1. Load the first page of a series of pages into an iframe when you click a link
2. On each click load the next in order page
3. When last page has loaded if clicked again will start from the beginning.
What I am doing: I am creating a tutorial for a friend who cannot figure out how to use her new rental management program. I could use a manual slide show to have her click for the next image however, there are a LOT of tutorial images which show her what to do at that point. Her program contains a great number of setup screens, report screens etc. This means the slide show would be sitting there loading all these images before it will work. So, I figured, OK make a page with an iframe, and then I could put each image on it's own little page i.e. page1, page2 etc. Place a little button, or a next link, then have the link load the pages into the iframe in order.

I currently have a Drop-Down menu, which has headers you click on to show the links. This menu only allows one drop to be expanded at a time, and can be viewed here [url].
I would like the headers to be able to have 'sub-headers' inside, which also drop-down,to reveal the links. I want them to have a different header colour, and to have the same rule where only one can be open at a time. while keeping the rule with the main headers.

Firstly apologies for my javascript ignorance - I'm not a programmer, just someone thrust into programming since there's no-one else at my company who can do it.
I found a nice js script online for a drop-down menu where the drop downs both expand to their full size and fade-in (very quickly) from transparent.

I'm using DreamWeaver CS3's image rollover code, but I'm trying to edit the code so that when you click the image, the hover state stays selected.
Then, when you hover anc click another image, the first image reverts back to it's original state. I've scoured the Internet, but can't find anything that works.

I´m using the superfish jquery Module at the website of a costumers. [url] Now the costumer wants that the submenus always where displayed and stay extended! If i chose "other parameters" in the superfish menu options i can enable Expand Menu. But my menu is still not expanded! Nothing happens! Is there a easy possibility to do this? I am using Joomla 1.5 with the latest Updates!
