This confirm alert works except I want when the user clicks on OK that the newwindow.html page loads.
onClick="if(confirm('Are you sure you want to exit?'))alert('The program is still running in the Taskbar...');location='../newwindow.html' target='_blank'else alert('YOu chose not to leave - good!')"
That bit in red doesn't seem to do the trick. Neither does document.location.
i am facing a problem after using jquery jconfirm alert. Issue is that after receiving confirm alert, when user press tab to go on Cancel button and press Enter key there, despite of firing event of Cancel button, it fires the event of OK button. this issue is not produced when user press the cancel button by mouse. Waiting for your replies.
How would I go checking if a certain submit button was pushed and if so confirm the user if he is sure. But if he pushes cancle, then it will cancle the operation.
A description of the problem: 1) Go to a page with various settings and a timeout (forces re-login if over 10 minutes) 2) Before the timeout, make some changes to settings. 3) Press a "reset to defaults" button that uses a confirmation box to let the user know what is about to be reset (lists items). 4) Walk away while the confirm box is displayed and come back after the page timeout. 5) My screen now has the page, a confirm popup on top of that, and a timeout alert on top of that. 6) Press OK to dismiss the timeout alert. The underlying page goes to the login screen, but the confirm box remains.
How can I clear any javascript alert/confirm popups in this situation automatically?
I'm pretty sure after reading this board and many like it that it is impossible to change the ok, ok/cancel buttons that appear by default in the alert and confirm javascript dialogs. Now for question one why not? And question two why do they still say ok and ok/cancel when viewed in a non-english browser install?
I have installed Chinese IE 6.0 and these buttons still say Ok/Cancel. the rest of the browser (buttons, menus, etc...) is in Chinese except for these two stupid buttons. No one final question, whould having a reginonal OS installed make any difference. Right now I'm using an English OS but with the Chinese browser mentioned above.
I am working on a PHP web application for my company and have run into a problem with Javascript. In a list I am displaying from a Mysql database, I have the option to delete certain entries. Before someone deletes an entry though, I want them to have an alert box pop up and asked then if they are sure. I have this simple javascript function in the head of the page, but whether cancel or ok are pressed, the page refreshes to the link. How can I fix it so that if you press cancel, nothing happens, other then the alert box goes away, but also allows the link to process if OK is pressed?
HTML Code: <script type="text/javascript"> function show_confirm(){ var r=confirm("Press a button!"); if (r==true){ alert("You pressed OK!"); }else{ alert("You pressed Cancel!"); }} </script>
I am using the validate plugin to perform validations on a form.I would like to show a confirm message ( alert with ok and cancel ) upon submit and successful vaildation.I have tried the following but it does not work:[code]The form submits even If I click "Cancel". Is there anythingwrong with my code above?
I set up a function in JQuery to do .load() to a DIV. (This function appears to work only in IE.) This works fine if I am loading an html document to the DIV, but if I load a .pdf file, it looks like it doesn't use the right mime type for interpretation. It looks like it just streams the binary code into the div. Is there a way use JQuery to load a PDF file into a DIV and have it render correctly?
Here is my source: <html><head> <title>jQuery test page</title> <script src="jquery-1.3.2.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> function loadContent(elementSelector, sourceUrl) { $(""+elementSelector).load(sourceUrl); } </script></head><body> <div id="top" style="position:absolute;top:0px;left:0px" > <a href="javascript:loadContent('#content', '[URL]');">I work</a> <p><a href="javascript:loadContent('#content', '[URL]');">I don't work</a> <p>Here's the stuff!</div> <div id="content" style="position:absolute;top:200px;left:0px">content will be loaded here</div></body> </html>

I have a page with two frames "AlexTop" and "AlexMain" Alex Top contains a SELECT statement which essentially navigates the AlexMain frame to a new url.
What I'd like to do is - WHILE the AlexMain frame is loading the new page, a message should pop-up. (I want to use this for errors encountered in the AlexTop frame.)
The code I have right now which is cauing a BUNCH of problems is: Code:
I have a site that is very jQuery and image heavy. The main sections of the site link to sections that are built with several Tabs, and as it loads, you briefly see all the content load and then it is hidden by the Tabs code.
The plan is to have a full window DIV that sits above all the content with a loading icon that plays until the entire page loads, and then it fades down.
After some hair pulling and research I have code in place that does exactly as I ask, however it does not seem to work in IE6+7. It works in all other browsers.
I have a lot of javascript functions that request information from an iframe hidden on the page. I see other sites do this, but their browser does not do the loading action (like the processing circle in Firefox). When I do it on my site, each browser shows the loading icon, as if a page was loading. Is it possible to not have this?

That is a sample link. Go down right side of page where you see three buttons: Trailers Featurettes Clips. Those return iframe information to work.
I am using a very simple search-type page to enable users to input a model number and its page appears in a inline frame. Its not a true search as it is simply relying on a person entering the correct html page name to find it. But this works perfectly in my application. The problem I have is that I cannot get the type box to accept enter key as a submitt, only a click of the mouse will submitt the request. If enter is pressed the box loses the users input but no action is taken.I think this may be a javascript issue. I have posted the code below.
I have created a party-events website. Which displays a lot of dates of events. As you might understand this page takes some time to load. Therefor I want some of loading image to be displayed while the page is loading. Anybody has an idea how to pull this of? I don't know how.
In detail: People come to my website. They click on "events" and a loading.gif pops up and and makes the background darker. After the page has completely loaded the loading image disappears and the website shows.
Code: <script language="JavaScript"> var checkobj function agreesubmit(el){[code]....
i need to make it like if the button is clicked and there the agreement checkbox is not checked.. it should give an alert that the alert is not checked.. i know that would require a if and else statement but i cant figure out how to do it
My requirement is, I have multiple pages in tab format. If i am on first page in edit mode and change any control's value and without saving information i click on other tab that particular time a popup should appear showing validation message say "you are moving without save and it will loos all changes either click ok to loose the changes and move to other page or click cancel to remain on the current page."I tried using var isDirty = false; var msg = 'This page has unsaved changes.Click OK to abandon the changes and leave the page.Click Cancel to stay on the page so that you can save your changes.';
I have a website with a lot of jQuery effects and functions which is not working properly under Internet explorer 8 and below, it works excellent on Chrome, Firefox, Opera and Safari however, I'm planning to make a light version of the website for Internet explorer, is there a way to verify browser type and version and redirect the user either to the light or normal version of the site according to those parameters?
My goal is to load the JS for a specific element before displaying that element. I integrated a third part script, and it works well. I set the timer here:
The JS is in my heading as <script type="text/javascript" src="countdownpro.js"></script>
About mid-body I have: <span id="countdown1">2010-07-20 00:00:00 GMT+00:00</span> which allows for the setting of a target date to countdown to.
When the page first loads it shows the above long format target time, until the js/meta tags kick in to modify it to just show the actual countdown as 00:00:00.
I have attached countdownpro.js to this post. I tried shifting the function CD_Init() to the top of the script, and also appended it inline with the .html. I tried setting the big external script to "defer", but neither arrangement worked. I also tried placing the src file right at the top.
i want to make a iframe page that loading a page from other site. I have try "jQuery iFrame Sizing" to set auto height in iframe... but it is failed.
This is my code : ------------- on Head <script type="text/javascript" src="js/jquery.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="js/iframe.js"></script> on Body
I'm designing a web page, Having a banner on top, then a search option following it.There is a menu item list below it on to the left. And the content of the links of those menu item should get loaded in the center of the page. And a footer having some copyright info. All these are in div tags. The problem is when i click on any menu item it should be loaded in the center div tag.Ive tried using Iframes but there is a scrollbar coming only in that area of center div tag.I don't wan't this to happen.Based on the size of the html page to be loaded the div tag size should increase, and so the whole page.Have tried using Ajax but not working.
I've built a gallery page with a popup bubble when you hover over a gate type, however this works fine on safari, firefox, but doesn't on explorer. [url]
Im trying to get the hang of it. I am trying a simple data entry page, where you can enter the name and type of an animal (eg Freddy the ferret) and it will be added to an HTML table.
The bottom of my table looks like this...
...and I have the following in the <head> tag of the page...
The way I thought this should work is that the first bit of the line would create a new DOM element, consisting of a <tr> with three <td>s in it, the first and second of which would contain the values the user entered. This new DOM element would then be inserted into the table right before the last row.
The problem is that the values from the two <input> tags are ignored, and a row with three empty cells is inserted...
I tried adding the following to the script...
And this showed fine, implying that I am getting the values correctly.
I even tried hard-coding the whole line, but that still added empty cells. Oddly enough (to me anyway), the space in the third cell was recognised, but the hard-coded text in the first two cells wasn't.
