View 13 Replies View RelatedI'm attempting to open a modal dialog box from a parent
window. The dialog box opens fine with the code below associated with the
parent. In the child window, I have a button with the simple self.close()
code associated with it. Obviously, I want to use the button to close the
child window (I've also tried window.close()). When the button is clicked,
the dialog box closes, but the info.aspx page is then re-displayed in
another regular window that opens. I found some reference to the problem on
the web with an explanation that it only occurs in IE after version 5, but
I've found no solution. ...and it still occurs in both IE6 and IE7. Code:

to be able to let the user select what directory they would like to
save the file to.
Is it possible to use javascript to open a search dialog where the user
will specify the directory?
I would like to know if it's possible to force a dialog box to "expire" after so many seconds? The scenario is that I'm holding various objects in my session. Before it times out, I want to notify the user to click Okay to save the work now OR click cancel to refresh the page. What if the user doesn't respond to the dialog box for a long time and then hits save? Well the session has already timed out!
So, can I have the dialog box appear until the session times out and then force a refresh without user interaction? I've seen a similar thing done before on bankOfamerica website, but I'm not sure if it's with Javascript.
my new web host offers dynamic content, like news headlines. The script it generates has limited style options, it does not allow for transparent background color.
I have tried applying a <span class> tag around the called script, but the style is ignored.
.transparentbackground {
background-color: transparent;
}
<span class="transparentbackground"><script class type="text/javascript" charset="UTF-8" src="tinc?key=DvSWwMiI"></script></span>
Is there anyway to change the style of the called javascript?
I have seen this done on vBulletin.. when a user clicks the logout button the site turns grey and they are asked "Are you sure you want to log out?"... How is this effect achieved?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to get a dialog box to open another dialog box. Clicking on "more search options" the first time results in opening a dialog box. Clicking "search" within the dialog box results in opening up a second dialog box. But this only works the first time I click on "more search options". In other words, the second dialog box only opens up only once. To get the second dialog to open again, I have to reload the page in the browser.

Write a function to return a string that can represents a color.
Requirements:
1. The color is random. The color string can be similar to "cf9c63", also similar to "rgb (211,100, 180)".
2. Code should be concise, clear, easy to read, good performance, and better than my solution.

There are two radio buttons, sometimes one will be disabled, other times the other will be disabled. I would like to make a script that: First: Changes the color of surrounding text of the disabled radio button to the color grey. Second: Checks the other radio button.
This was my plan: I would make a script that: First: Removes all the current classes and add the class "greyed_out" (or better: change only the color of) the parent element, all siblings and children of siblings (if any) of the radio button that is disabled at that time.Second: Sets the attribute "checked to the other radio button". I made a script, but when I set the bottom radio button to disabled the script doesn't work:

have been trying to rework this to call additional, independent sets of colors to cycle through (so it would loop thru a set of grays, a set of primary colors, etc). I would use perhaps a different function name in the HTML to call different sets of colors. If this is more complex than I think it is, I think 3 sets would be plenty. demo link of script in current state at bottom)

I have a script which uses a colorpicker in which the user can select a color, and in the preview section the color of one div is changed to this color value. This is done by a javascript function of the color picker. called setcolor. The code for this function is given below:
function setColor(color) {
var inp = document.getElementById("pageSurround");
inp.style.backgroundColor = color;
}
Now I want that the value 'color'(used above to set bg color for the element 'pageSurround') is passed to a form variable named 'in_backgroundColor'(the color picker is being invoked in a PHP Script) so that this value can be stored in the database. How should this be coded.
I have a div whose hover color is initially set through a CSS style sheet, but have found that if I change the background through a script, the hover is wiped out. View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a form which contains FOUR text fields (e.g. TEXTFIELD1, TEXTFIELD2, TEXTFIELD3 & TEXTFIELD4). Each text field holds a HEX,DEC color value. ABOVE this form I have a table with TWO ROWS (ROW1 and ROW2). ROW1 should correspond with TEXTFIELD1, so that when the VALUE in TEXTFEILD1 is changed the background color of ROW1 will change to match the HEX,DEC VALUE entered in TEXTFIELD1. The same would happen with TEXTFIELD2 and ROW2. TEXTFIELD3 should be used to change the color of the TEXT inside ROW1 and TEXTFIELD4 should change the color of the TEXT in ROW2. I also wanted to know if it would be possible to achieve this without clicking any button.
