I cannot figure out how to total my column data correctly with JavaScript. The code I have will enter a new row, but it is not summing the columns. The new row is just filled with zeros.
function totalColumns() {
var tds = document.getElementById('users_table').getElementsByTagName('td');
var sum = 0;
for(var i = 0; i < tds.length; i ++) {
I am creating a html form for the local soccer league for online registration. In a drop down box the user chooses whether in house or travel and both choices have a different fees ao I would like to add a $ value to both options to be displayed in a TOTAL box at the bottom of the form before they submit. I would (if possible) like to have that total displayed on the page they are directed to after submitting the form. This page will have a link to PayPal for the user to pay their fee or I could skip that step and have the user taken directly to PayPal checkout with that total already filled in. Is this at all possible? What are my possiblities? I am NOT any where near a pro at the code writing. I can provide a link to what I have done already if requested.
I'm using drupal, and am having trouble to convert a table to a one field two column at code level.Is it possible to manipulate it using jquery using odd and even?
I have created a table to organize data, and upon clicking a row, the user is taken to that data to manage related information to that data. Everything works fine, but something came up where I would like to give them the ability to delete items from that listing. I would like to add an additional column for each row, that will store an image, when clicked on, deletes that item in the database.
My question is: how do you cancel an action based upon a column that is clicked? I'm sure there is, and I don't mind adding a class to the image column for detection... I am unsure how to look further into the DOM event to see what particular td was clicked, if I could, I could then use $(this.attr("class"); to look to check if that specific column was clicked, and to cancel the action accordingly.
I'm having a spot of bother hiding table columns in IE.
With FF, setting the column cell's style.display to none (or changing the cell's class name to style that has display: none) completely removes the cells from the table.
In IE, the cell contents go, but the space they occupied is still there, so the table has an empty column, the same result as setting visibility = invisible.
how to get the total column automatical gets update when user inputs a value in column 1. i believe its some thing to do with javascript onfocus(). i don't know how to do it.
I am attempting to create a form similar to one found in Access where the select box's drop-down list displays multiple columns while the selection only displays the first column. For example, in my app, I have a drop-down for "A", "M", and "D", but when the list drops, it should say:A | AddM | ModifyD | DeleteI don't care about the spacing of the pipe characters, but I simply want the selected item to only show the first column (in this case, the single letter) so I don't have a long select box.
I am trying to implement the "Freeze pane" feature in javascript as it is in excel. I am almost there but am not able to get one last thing. The row header freezing is achieved first column freezing is also achieved. However, the top left column cell (which is supposed to stay frozed during both horizontal and vertical scroll) is not frozen.
i have two columns table and this table is dynamic when clicked add button it automatically adds rows i would like to sum values separetly for ex: when i clicked sum-column1 button let it sums only column1 or when i clicked sum-column2 button let it sums only column2 here is code
<html><head><title>dinamik sheet</title> <script> function addrow(){
i have table with 3 column i want the col3 to be hidden by onload when open the webso is there away to make itbecause in tutorial only shown by onclick
I have a large table with too many columns, I have a column show / hide script. Just to reduce the script size, I want to do some modification. On the First ROW of the Table, there are columns heading, and each have an ID. i.e. <image id="col1"...> Now, I want to have a function where if I pass the ID, it determine the column index it self, OR if I pass the column Index, it will return the column ID.
Ok, if you create multi-column lists with CSS, you tend to get: Code: 1 2 3 4 5 6 rather than:
Code: 1 4 2 5 3 6 One solution for this is here. However, that requires unique names for each list item and formatting the CSS in advance for each list in advance. LAME.
However, that solution can be automated with Javascript and I am almost positive I have seen that done before, I just can't find it now. Can anyone help me out?
How can the user obtain a specific result by choosing values from 2 dropdown list. As a result, the value obtained can not be modified by the user. The table of ten rows by ten columns have to be stored in a mysql dbase.. It's certanly possible , but tedious and time-consuming by using a bunch of "if ... then statements". Considered from a table point of view, the final result is the coordinate of a row value and a column value.
I want to ensure one column in a table is always the same number of pixels wide no matter what the screen resolution is set to on the visitors PC - the other two columns can wrap away top their hearts content.
How do I do this please? The code below doesn't do it.
I have a table that sorts in jquery and I have one column that I would like to always remain the same while the other columns sort around it. What I want is for the order of the column to always be Great, Bad, Failure while every other column can be sorted. What is the easiert way for me to do this?
I'm trying to make a php/jquery-based puzzle game where I have a standard html table (#puzzlegrid) generated by php, and I want to highlight certain parts of it when the mouse is hovering over it. I have one table where there are four different parts (split in the middle vertically and horizontally), separated by id's. The left and topmost cells has id="empty", all the rows beneath these has id="row-clues", the columns next to "empty" has id="column-clues" and finally the bottom-right cells has id="playing-grid", which the hover-function belong to. The number of #column-clues and #column-rows can vary, both in the count of rows and columns. I can give a example code if it's necessary.
As for the jquery-part, I simply want to highlight (add a css class) the current row and column when i hover over the #playing-grid cells. That means selecting all #column-clues and all #column-rows cells that exist on the same row/column the mouse is hovering over. This is what I have so far
$("#puzzlegrid td#playing-grid").hover(function() { var current_rowIndex = $(this).parent()[0].rowIndex; var current_columnIndex = $(this).parent().children().index($(this)); $("tr").eq(rowIndex).addClass("highlight");
[Code]....
I've tried a for-loop and each() without luck, as far as my jquery skills goes (and that's not far ). Is it possible to use the index for highlighting several columns, or do I have to do it another way? I can change the HTML code if that's necessary.
What I want to do is to create a function which shifts a table column one position to left. Therefore I'am trying to select all relevant td and th elements. My problem is to rearange the elements. Within the both each calls, see the code below, $(this).get(i) would result the td respectively the th element where the before function is undefined. But how to insert the elements correctly or is this the wrong way?
$.fn.shiftLeft = function(col) { // Make sure col has value if(!col){ col = 1; } var trsToMove = $('tr td:nth-child('+col+')',this);
