The textarea field is the only element in my form and has a default value -
a couple lines of text..
I tried using a reset button but it only clears text that was just entered.
the script at the bottom appends a text area with info onclick [URL] I wanted to know if it's possible to have a function (possible within the existing one?) that replaces text as well.
Something like this format would be perfect for what I'm tring to do:
<a href="#" onclick = "check('Replace this text', 'With this in the textarea')">Click Me to replace</a><br/>
Original Code:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">

I have a problem to solve where I have a Hidden set of 40 text inputs. A link to show 10 more of these in inputs at a time, all having unique ID's. The goal I am trying to accomplish is to set the focus to say the 10th input. If the "show more inputs" link is clicked then the focus should go to the next 10th input (really input ID number 20) and so on.

I have this comment area that after clicking submit i will append the new comment in the list of comments through ajax... i got one problem though, everything is working perfectly well except for the textarea that won't change back to it's default size...
EXAMPLE:
The problem is that the textareawon't change back to it's default size // let's say that the default size is rows=3
I've been trying to fix this.
Code below:
I want to make it so that when I click on something, it changes what document.onclick does.
This is a simplified version of what I'm trying to do:
Code:
<div id="clickme" onclick="document.onclick = function(){ alert ('This should not be alerted on the first click'); }">Click here</div>
However, as you'll notice, the alert box shows up on the first click as well. The only way I have been able to get around this behaviour is to have the first onclick execute a timer that will then set the document.onclick after 1ms, however this seems very messy to me.
I have the following sample code and when I click the a href link it pops up both windows.
HTML4Strict Code:
<tr false;" style="cursor:pointer"> <td>Some data</td> <td>More date</td> <td><a href="thatlink.html" false;">Details</a></td></tr>
In other words - linking the link that should open up 'thatlink.html' opens up that window first followed by the 'thislink.html' window in the table row onclick call.
I've got this little 'textarea' script..see the code below. Now there is something strange with it. When I disable javascript from within IE 6.0, it still seems to function well... how come ?
Also I would like to build in one thing extra.. Whenever one of the buttons B or C is pressed there is a tag placed within the textarea, like it should. However I don't want the tags to be counted up to the textcount total. What do I need to adjust in the code to achieve that ? Code:

View 2 Replies View Relatedreally need some help with validating a textarea box. basically i have
a text area box that must not have more the 910 characters entered and
they must not be spread over more than 23 lines. I could check the
total length but the problem is people could enter 1 character per
line so you would end up with 910 lines.
