I am trying to use a method equalTo from jquery.validate.js and could not find how to use the "param" parameter. Below is part of the js file I am referring to:
Code:
// [URL]
equalTo: function(value, element, param) {
return value == $(param).val();
},
how do I pass a var (in my case ssID, since have two slideshows) to onAfter? (I know there are three params passed to this fn already... how do I pass a fourth one??)
I'm experienceing some problems with jQuery 1.4(.1) with the "new" ajax param serialization. My code does basically this:
[Code]....
so I'm creating an array within the "ajaxparams" object, which I fill with some data. So far so good. Problem here is, the $.post request creates a string like this:
[Code]...
Release Notes Snippet: jQuery 1.4 adds support for nested param serialization in jQuery.param, using the approach popularized by PHP, and supported by Ruby on Rails. For instance, {foo: ["bar", "baz"]} will be serialized as “foo[]=bar&foo[]=baz”. since I'm working with perl and not php, this issue is getting a little bit annoying.
There are 3 tables in DB group-set,group,users. Two different type of folders 1 is group-set which contains groups and another is groups which contains the users in group.group-setcan have multiplegroup-setorgroupas a child elements.groupwill have only users as child elements.useris a leaf node.how to load it with ajax. because ajax GET request passes "id" to load childs.. but in this case we need extra parameter in GET request i.e.typeto find out whose child it needs (group-set's or group's).type will determine what needs to be loaded. users or groupshow to modify get request generated on node expand with appending type parameter in treeview ??
I have a page working perfectly that passes up to 10-12k worth of data into a function via an 'onClick' event. That onClick is one of the <img..>'s attributes, directly. In case later that (dynamic) data gets larger, am I toying with potential problams because of some limit - either a limit in what can be passed into a JS function, or else a limit in the max num of characters allowed in an element's attribute(s)? What do you think is the reasonable amount that I can pass before things start to break? I may need to go up to 50k. 100k maybe, but I doubt that much.
I am just wanting to use Java to change one value in my code for my project but after having gone through the basics on the web, i seem no closer to finding the solution.I am wanting one JavaScript effect of 'onmouseover' to change the autostart value to 'true' when the preceeding img element is hovered on and to go back to 'false' for onmouseout. I was hoping i'd be able to work out a simple application for an if statement but am now unsure if i'll be able to work it out.Does anyone know a simple javascript that will do the trick?
using js to force a specific anchor call to jump after the page completely loads. The reason I am doing this is because the page I am linking to with anchors takes a long time to load and a standard browser anchor link sometimes does not work 100%. With that said, I would now like to make the script I wrote universal to get ANY anchor param in the url and jump to that spot on the page. Right now it's coded to just look for "#anchor". I want to re-code it so it will look for "#" + "anyAnchorName".
We utilize several dedicated hardware appliances that interface with our site and also another server. These dedicated appliances have a built in webserver (no php tho) to administer network diagnostic tests.
Since I can't call the applet directly from my own site I've employed the use of an iframe and I pass the visitors username to the iframe from the parent window to the iframe via the calling url for the purposes of attaching the username to the SID param of the applet. I created a new webpage on the CT to use for this feature as noted below.
I have verified that the parsing of the url does produce the username without problems but where I am running into a problem is passing the VALUE of username to the <param name="SID" VALUE statement. Instead of actually posting the VALUE of username it posts "&{username};" to the SID value instead of the actual value of username. Essentially what it is doing is passing the literal after the * instead of the VALUE of the variable "username".
I use a similar PHP command to the same thing just fine <param name="SID" VALUE= '*<?php echo($username);?>'> but since I don't have the luxury of PHP on the CT I'm stuck with html/javascript.
The code is below and the specific param statement is highlighted in red. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Just in case anyone is wondering the * is required as this tells the parameter to pass anything after the * to the SID field which is used for tracking on our main server.
I have been trying to grasp the whole 'Pass By Value/Reference' thing for a few hours now. From what i can make out:
Passing by value will make a copy of the value, pass it as a function argument and the function will store the changes, the original value is not affected. So for example:
JavaScript Code: var cost = 145;var postage = .3;var a = function() {return cost + postage;} //Using an Anonymous function for this
If you was then to pass the value of 'a' to a function argument it would copy and not change the original value.
If you pass by reference it will change the original value. When you pass a reference to a value through a series of different functions and the value is constantly being changed the change happens on the original value and can be seen outside the function.
The problem is i cannot think of how or why this would be used. I havn't got to develop many large applications so im trying to think of a few situations when passing by reference would be used.
I'm trying to use jquery with php by sending out calls and getting values returned, but I need to store them on a variable, but whenever I do that nothing shows this is the code I have now and is not working
$("document").ready(function(){ var cal = $.get("date.php", function(data){
I have an array list that I create in the page.load event. I'm creating it here, because the array list is built from the data in a database based on the value of the querysting.
I want to use this array list as the list of photos in a slideshow. What do I do o that jquery can get access to the array?
I have a page with dozens of anchored links. When you click on the link, the appropriate div becomes visible. Each div contains an image. Because each DIV has a large image associated with it, it takes entirely too long for the page to load. I would like to set the IMG SRC inside of the div when they click. Each anchor href is the exact same name as the image to be loaded - so #dali would contain dali.jpg. How dow I pass the HREF minus the hash mark (#)? This is as far as I've gotten:
I don't understand how to pass the currentId variable to the .addClass method as the above code does not work. If I replace currentId with 'id_1" it works. I also verified that currentId has actually an id value like this:
I have a list of items and a link to delete one at time. I've build this confirmation delete script but it works in a wrong way: it takes the last item.
So after the validation find true, from that validation.php , i want to pass a PHP variable to custom.js( Jquery file).How can i do it.I am getting validation errors as a concatinated string which is returned by php,am trying to append a variable to that string.but its ech oing on the screen.Is it possible to assign a variable in that PHP file and pass to jquery file.
I'm very new at jQuery, and I've gotten myself stuck.I have a set of menu tabs which should show/hide divs on the page, and the active tab should change style.[code]
I'm creating a function to show/hide a menu when clicking an anchor. I want to determine the effect it uses by passing it in as a variable but it no likey!
What am I doing wrong? Check out the code below...
I have successfully set up & tested the use of the LocalScroll plugin on my project (which also uses the ScrollTo plugin). Having just started using jQuery today, I was trying to figure out how you would pass a value entered into a search box through to jQuery.
The LocalScroll plugin scrolls using anchor tags that reference the ID of the element. So clicking the "This is some text" link below... code...
What I am wanting to do is provide a search box so that when the user enters a value (i.e., myID) and clicks the Search button, this value is passed to LocalScroll as the ID value to scroll to. It would be like clicking the link "This is some text" above. Is this possible?
