JQuery :: How To Create Slideshow And Accordion Menu
Jan 10, 2011I am using the jQuery plugin to create slideshow and also a accordion menu.

The accordion menu is not working if the slideshow is working. I am new to this jQuery world.
The below is the HTML script

In the above script, slideshow is working fine but the accordion is not working. If I comment the lines 5, 16, 17,18 then the accordion is working but slideshow is not working. There is no errors thrown.

Only problem is, I can't seem to add any anchor tags inside the <p> elements! The script seems to move them out of the paragraph and add them after it as siblings. I cannot see anything in the code that might do this (but then again, I'm not a JavaScript expert).

When I set the mouseleave to .click, it gets confused and doesn't know what state it is in. Sep 1, 2011I needed a sidebar menu that, when a user clicks the <h3>, a submenu expands. When the user then clicks on a different menu item, the previous submenu disappears meaning only one submenu can be visible at one time.
Now the code I have at the moment (from jQuery forums) works. It now needs a bit more refining so that it works the way I intend.
When you first load the page, all of the submenus are collapsed which is a real pain as each submenu has 20 - 30 selections.
Is there a way to have them all hidden initially?
Is there a way to get an open submenu to close by clicking on the H3 title again?
Since the site is local only, I posted up a sample on my JSfiddle account.

This one, which I also found on google, did what I wanted, but without the smooth slide animation. - [url]
When you then click on one of the H3's, it kicks into action and works great!

I'm thinking that somehow I need to calculate the widths of all of the combined .post divs, then use that total width calculation and set it as the width for the #content div, but I really don't know how.

Dec 23, 2010I am trying to create a horizontal menu, and I have succeeded in getting the menu to view the way I want it, but for some reason when I mouse over the <li> in the root <ul> it shows me all the <ul> under every <li> at once. Here is a sample.

To get to the point, the menu dosent display correctly in this mode (as I expected).I belive issues with jQuery running on a page in quirksmode is a well documented thing. My dropdown menu is being blocked by the accordian option and I can not view most of the items within the dropdown menu in order to navigate.I did notice is that if I get rid of jquery-ui-1.8.4.custom.css I can see the dropdown menu, but then I do not get the settings I desire for the accordian.
