What it needs to do is when the user fills in the last <input> it will add another one bellow it, and if it gets emptied it then removes the one bellow is (as long as it is empty too)

i have an if structure checking to see of the fields have been filled in.
On the text fields though there is no value so how can i check to see if nothing there which would mean aint been filled in.
i tried

I'm have a Joomla component who use Jquery for several thing in his template. This component have a form where some field are displayed and I would like conditionnaly restrict the use of 2 fields. I have in fact a field "City" and a field "Zip code" and my goal is to disable one field if the other is filled. In practice that mean if a user start to type the name of a city, the zip field must be disabled for avoid to fill also this field. Same thing if the user start to type in the zip field...the field City must be disabled too..
I need to setup this because the search engine of my component can not retreive correctly data if both field are filled. This happen tipically if the the zip code don't match with the name of the city... I that case the component will display "no result found" and this is annoying. Any example of working code making possible to get this function? Unfortunately I'm not a coder and except html and a bit of css, I do not have enough knowledge..
Basically, I've setup a form to have all the required data written to a csv file. Now, The only thing is some of the non-required fields are filled in and some people don't fill them in, so when I import it into excel, the fields move about. What I need to know, is there a condition I can set to have a value written into all the empty fields when it is submitted?

I made all numbers double digit just for show in the example so the table is easier to read. So far the code I have is just trying to create the array and fill with numbers from the user. This asks for a number once then doesn't display anything at all.

Have a second form (Form2) to the user update the data registered in form1, and the fields user, email, password is already populated with data from the database, the email field I use the remote validation, and as the field already has been completed and read always says that this email already exists, how do I create a rule or method so that when the field is already filled it not do so validating and validate if it is filled with a new email. So I have to ask some stupid questions and make sure that there is not something wrong in this simple syntax. I am trying to get input field attributes type and tagname by field ID. Heres the code..

When I look in firebug I see there is the correct ID in input_id variable and that the input field with that id exists. But for tag and type variables I just get 'undefined' for reason unknown.. syntax is correct or?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to replicate a feature found in hotmail, facebook, etc. When you type or select a recipient from an auto-suggest box for your message/email that recipient's name is put into the "To" field box and is encased (usually a blue rounded corner box) with a X to the far right. If the "X" is clicked the recipient is removed.
How can do you put the selected recipient into the encasing and insert it in the "To" field box? If there are multiple recipients how are they differentiated? For example, if there were a ";" between the recipients the semi-colon would separate the values.
I have a problem created by my complete [rookie] status – only second time venturing into jQuery. I created a simple shopping cart using php and the PayPal buttons (1: buy now, 2: add to cart). The php back end does it great, it generates the table and the buttons and everything works just like it’s supposed to; Except, I forgot to add sizes. So I found out what I need to add, and I realize that the way the buttons work, I will have two different text boxes for size. Not very visually appealing, and since I’m not submitting this to the server before it goes to PayPal to pay, I cannot modify it with php the way I normally would. jQuery / javascript are my only hope of making this work. What I want to do:Have a single textbox where [size] is entered by the user.

I am in the process of making a single page website for a local radio group of roughly 20-30 members which may increase over time. They want to be able to show when they are online. The idea I had was basically to put a login field near the top of the website where they would input a "call name" and their real name, so 2 different fields. After clicking the submit button I want to populate a listable(doesn't really matter which) to show that they are "online", and once the session has ended(closed the webpage) have it remove them from the list.There doesn't need to be any security, no cached information, no cookies, and as simple as possible. How might I go about doing this?

So in my input field, if I type "A" i want to check that value - A - against my array (or list menu...), and if "AB", then value AB, etc. This seems entirely possible but I don't know if it's possible to do 2 things:
1. Can you run javascript, or is there an event handler, on an input field for every time a character is typed?
2. Can you store into an array not the value but the label or text that is between the <option> and </option> tags? I.e., can I retrieve DAVE from <option>DAVE</option>?
