I developed a website using jQuery plugins in part of it. Couple of visitors visited the website with internet explorer complained that some part of the website does not function at all. I have Internet Explorer 8 installed and I dont know how to downgrade it.[URL]...
Im using The Superfish Menu code(http:url....) in a web page and it works in all the browsers except Internet Explorer 8, because it says:t ohelp protect your security, Internet Explorer has restricted this file from showing active content that could access your computer.
I have recently just built a simple website and have started to add some added editions one being the lightbox.
i am using dreamweaver cs3 and on a mac laptop, so in safari it works brillaint no problems what so ever.

I have two select lists that have option lists that are created from external XML lists that contain course offerings available at different locations. Each location has a different set of course offerings. When a user selects a location, the javascript code will hide / show the option entries that correspond to the course offerings for that location. If a user selects a course offering, the javascript code will show / hide the locations that offer those courses.
Click events are attached to each of the Option entries with the code below. The code works correctly with Firefox and Opera, but the click events are never triggered in IE, Safari or Chrome. The Chrome debugger seems to indicate that the click events get set up in Chrome (although I am not sure where JQuery saves event handler data). Each option entry has a unique ID tag.
$(".locn_option_select").click(function (locnevent) { // Set up click action on the option entries locnevent.preventDefault;[code].......
I am making a visual database for our company to give to our sister company in another state so they can have name, phone, email, and a picture. All of this information is in XML outside of the HTML document. I have provided the HTML and XML below. It works perfectly with Mozilla, but all Internet Explorer displays nothing from the XML. Please tell me what I'm doing wrong because I am completely stumped
I have a page with two frames, 'header' and 'main'. The following code works in Netscape, but in Internet Explorer. The second bgColor line produces an error:
function test(){ top.frames.header.document.bgColor='white' //works fine top.frames.main.document.bgColor='white' //fails }
I have a script that works in Firefox but not IE6-
<script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript"> document.Params.ThisPageURL.value=document.URL; var x = new Date (); document.Params.TimeZoneOffset.value =x.getTimezoneOffset(); document.Params.submit (); </script>
The form is set this way: <FORM ACTION="<?php echo("$Action"); ?>" METHOD="POST" NAME="Params" <input type="hidden" NAME="ThisPageURL" value=""><input type="hidden" Name="$ERR" value=""><input type="hidden" name ="TimeZoneOffset" value=""><input type="hidden" Name="$U" value=""><input type="hidden" Name="$R" value=""><input type="hidden" Name="$T" value="">
I get the following error in IE: document.Params.ThisPageURL is null or not an object
I have two radio buttons on a form. I wish for one button to show a div that's hidden with {display:none;}, and the other to put it back to being hidden when selected. My code seemed sound to me but in firefox it doesn't really work, only in internet explorer. I would like to keep the coding as simple as possible:
I have the following code which deletes, i.e. sets the cookie in the past, a cookie.
var cookie_name = 'memberCookie' var cookie_date = new Date(); // Current Date & Time cookie_date.setDate (cookie_date.getDate() - 5); var cookie = cookie_name + "=; expires=" + cookie_date.toGMTString() + "; path=/"; parent.menu.document.cookie = cookie; parent.menu.location.reload(1) parent.menu.document.cookie - this is just the path to the cookie which resides in a frame called menu.
This code works in Mozilla, as it stores the cookie by name i.e. memberCookie, however in Internet Explorer the cookie file is named ti8@localhost[1] which is just my username and server name from uni. Is this the reason it cannot delete the cookie? Or despite the file being called ti8@localhost[1] the cookie is really named memberCookie?
Can anyone please provide any advice for me. Would I need two seperate statements, one which deletes the cookie in Mozilla and one for IE?
I am trying to make comments system and i want to add smileys.the content of each comment is written in TEXTAREAI have a JS code that gets a "smiley code" like :) and adds it into the TEXTAREA. i mean it adds :) :( XD ;) or what i sent to the function.the TEXTAREA code:
I'm using a nice little script which replaces the usual file upload input with whatever image you want and then with JS makes sure that an invisible 'browse' button is underneath the mouse pointer whenever the mouse is moved over the image you want to use.
It works on every browser ie7 ie8 ie9 FF safari chrome but not on opera. On Opera the regular file input appears.
I've had a good hoke round the 'net and I know there's loads of scripts which do similar things. But either they are too complicated for me to figure out how to use them eg uploadify (bit of a newbie) or they do similar things but just not as well - like making the custom image the same size as the file input would be (there's issues with that too).
Here's the script I'm using - there's not much to it
How come it doesn't work in Opera grrrr... Is there anyway to fix it? This is perfect for what I want apart from not working in Opera.
So this works just fine in FF. In IE7 I am getting this error. I can see my content load in the background, when I hit ok it takes me to a page cannot be displayed page. If I comment out:
I try to use jquery to manage a little hierarchical menu. It seems easy, and after 1 hour of scripting (first time that I use Jquery) it's working in FF, Safari and Opera. It's not working in IE.[URL]..
I have a link which when clicked either fades up a full screen overlay and a popup box ontop or fades them both down. This works perfect in every browser except IE7 and IE8. The popup box fades in and out OK but the overlay just appears or disappears with no fading (which is bizarre!)
I have a problem with the javascript (I'm using jQuery) in a facebook application in internet explorer 7:[URL]..In the background some facebook like iFrames are loaded and when the user clicks on one of those attractions on that map the attraction should zoom out and the like buttons of this attracion should appear. I have only a very old pc with msie 7 running and it seems to load those iFrames again and again and nothing else works. I doesn't have any other debugging tool then IE Developer Toolbar but that doesn't seem to show any javascript errors or information.

The following code is working great for all browsers except for Internet Explorer .. I've been investigating and the problem seems to be the html method. How can I change the script for it to work in Internet Explorer also? [code]
I'm using ajax to send data to another page, but in IE 'message' is emptied some times. I have an alert on 'message' in the JS-function and there is data there; for example: "I think that IE <br />is a pain in the..
