Node.context.nextElementSibling.value Nothing In IE8?

Mar 25, 2011

I am building an sftp application. It has requirements to upload and download. To upload, a target folder that exists on the server needs to be set. I have a jQuery folder tree that dynamically creates a tree view of a directory on the server. Currently in Firefox, Opera, and Chrome if someone clicks on a branch of the tree on the afterClick event I am able to get the target path by using the DOM via node.context.nextElementSibling.value; The code for the afterClick is:

Unable To Retrieve The Parent Id Of A Tree Node Whenever It Has A Child Node

Nov 23, 2009

I'm using jsTree-0.9.9a. As a test this is the code i'm using to display the ID

oncreate: function(NODE, REF_NODE, TYPE, TREE_OBJ, RB)
{
if (TYPE === "inside") {
parent_id = $(REF_NODE).attr('id');
alert(parent_id)
}}

This works fine when the parent has no child nodes, however, when a child node exists nothing is returned.

JQuery :: Only Select Text Node Without DOM Markup?

Jul 30, 2010

let's say I have this code markup:

<div id="id1">
This is some text
<div class="class1"><p>lala</p> Some markup</div>
</div>

What I would want is only the text "This is some text" without the child element's .class1 contents.

How would I do that? A normal selector would select "recursively", so how do I limit it to one level?

Get Select Element And Its Values In A Node?

Dec 28, 2010

I'm trying to read a select(dropdown) box from an HTML form along with all its options. My core requirement is to be able to read a select element with all its option and store it in some variable/node using one JS function. Use another JS function to pick the node and convert the values from node back to the options of select box.

We can probably make use of jQuery as well, provided it is supported by IE6.

(code Included) And IE Conflicts - Parent / Child Node Conflicts

Feb 15, 2010

For a widget I made, I have a dropdown select menu. It is constrained to a very small width and IE does not auto expand on click. I wrote a simple javascript to handle this but I run into two problems. The onmouseout function is fired when I click into a child node, and the onmousedown of the <option> tags doesn't work in IE. The code works fine in all other browsers.

var wid;
var campaign_i = 0;
function campaignWidget_capture(myID){
wid=document.getElementById(myID).style.width;
campaign_i++;
}
function campaignWidget_SubDes(myID,state){
if(state==0){

I expected $('#tabcontainers div') to return just the four top level divs but instead it returns six. That is, it is returning the four top level divs within tabcontainers but also the child divs with class="content" inside the top level divs.Is there a way to just select the 4 top level divs (i.e. excluding the inner divs) other than putting class or id attributes on them and using those in the selector?

JQuery :: Select The Last Children Of Parent Elements?

May 3, 2010

I need to select the last children of parent elements

For example

<ul>
<li></li> <-This will have the background #1a
<li></li> <-This will have the background #1a
<li><ul>

[Code]....

So I would need the last children. If there is no nested element then that is considered the last child. I have to write a jquery script to apply a background to the last children. A nested element can have a nested element and then that element's children will be considered the last ones so they will get the background but not the parents of those children. If the item has no children then that item will have a background.

So there are 3 different backgrounds. Each letter a, b c will represent a lighter tone compared to the previous color. C is lighter than B, B is lighter than A etc. So this will have to be a "smart" system in which the ul li will be updated and depending if it is the last one inhierarchyit will not have the arrow.

JQuery :: Select .parent() - DIV Names Cannot Be Unique

Mar 23, 2011

Suppose I have something similar to this HTML (this is not my exact HTML, rewritten to simplify):

<a onclick="ShowHide(); return false;" href="#">show/hide</a>
<div>
<div id="summary">Summary of info below</div>
<div id="enclosure" style="display:none;">Information</div>
</div>
<a onclick="ShowHide(); return false;" href="#">show/hide</a>
<div>
[Code]...

These DIVS are full of information populated from a MSQL db. So the DIV names cannot be unique. I have this jQuery code:

[Code]....

This code actually works perfectly except for one major headache. When I click the 'hide/show' link on any of these - the only one that hides or shows is the first set. After research I feel like I'll need to use the .parent() selector or (this) somewhere but I feel like I've tried every combination.
