View 2 RepliesTrying to get the height of an element whose height is specified in the CSS.
So I am trying to animate the height of an item, where I have:
<img id="myButton" src="myimage.jpg" />
<div id="myDiv" style="height:50px;overflow:hidden">
asdklf
[Code]....
However, it only registers as 50, even if the element is 500
I'm working on a script to pass the content height to some other element. The whole script is within the document ready function, but somehow Google Chrome thinks the content height is 0 (zero), because it's so fast. When I set a timeout it works correctly, but I don't really like this solution because of the delay.
var contentHeight = ($('body').height();
setTimeout(function() {
var contentHeight = ($('body').height();
[code]....
OK, I am very new to jQuery so bare with me here. I am trying to get the document body height and set it as the height of a table, after the page has been loaded. Below is an example of what I am trying to do.
[Code]...
I am not sure where to place the jQuery code, before or after the table tag...and I am not even sure if any of my jQuery code is correct. Once again, i need to set the table height AFTER the document has been loaded and then dynamically change the height of the table.
First time posting here. Have been enjoying all the resources available to us, very helpful. My problem:
Recently started learning css / java - i have a web page with an iframe on the index pages within a div tag, which then loads all other pages into this iframe. The thing is i require the iframe to adjust its height size according to the content loaded.
After lots of searching a have come across only one that worked for me,however it only seems to work in IE and not firefox and the like.
[Code]...
I'm looking for a script to change the height of a iframe depending on the loaded content. I found some scripts who let it work when a webpage loads in the iframe.
But when the height of the page changes by javascript animations.
Like a box is getting 200px higher by a javascript action. The page won't reload by this action so the iframe height remains in it's current height.
Anyone has a good script that the iframe height even changed on javascript commands?
How to display loading gif image until the big image have loaded? Now I have the html and js but it doesn't work. Anyone have some idea or solution ?
[Code]...
The script below loads content into a lightbox window.I am trying to figure out how to calculate the height of the box after the content is loaded into it.It currently is finding the height prior to loading causing a problem with the vertical centering.Here is the page:
One Equity Partners :: All Companies
Code JavaScript:
$('.more_info').click(function(){
popout="<div id='lightbox_pop_out'></div>";[code]......
I have a list of images on my website, and I because of different resolutions on viewers screens, the total height of the div changes. I need to set the "top" value as the height of ".photoswrap".
View 2 Replies View Relatedi have the following code
<script type="text/javaScript">
$(document).ready(function(){
$("#dropPrd").change(function() {
$('#imgAjaxLoading').ajaxStart(function(){
[Code].....
and i want to access the element dropSubPrd that is inserted on that ajax function, on the div FirstResult, but it will not work in $('document').ready because when the page load's that element isnt there.
when I try to get the height or any other graphic property of an element which is hidden (in my case, hidden in one jQuery UI tab), I can't manage to get the height of the element. If I do: $("#my_element").outerHeight() I get zero. Whereas If I do the same when the element is visible, I get its height. I work with jQuery 1.3.2 and FF 3.5.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am looking for a way to determine is an element style was determined (thru css) or calculated.
So far I can t find the RightWay(tm) for doing this. $().height() returns the calculated height which is the same as $().css("height"). I have solved the problem under IE and Opera using DOM.currentStyle.height. But not on other browsers (e.g. gecko). To make clear, I want to know if the height css rule in action is something like: 100%, auto, inherit, 3em, 5pt, 100px.
$().height() returns the browser calculated value to px, even if the current set is '100%'.
How can i find real height of the element? It is changed with css to fixed, but i need its real height, as it be without css.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm creating a script to get the next photo without reloading a webpage. To make it more smoothly, I fadeOut() the old image, and fadeIn() the new image.
However, when the new image is not yet fully loaded, the fadeIn() method doesn't really make sence. So I wonder if there is a way to first show an ajax loader, and after the new image is fully loaded, fadeIn the new image.
This is how far I got so far :-)
I first have to remove the first img tag, and inject a new one in the DOM, otherwise the old image flashes for a second, before the new one appears ;-)

I am loading an html page using the .load() function into a div called content. I have an overlay that is the same size as the div (I do this for a transparent effect).So with the .load() function in the callback I set the overlay div height to the content div height.. which works fine except when there are images. Since the images aren't loaded yet the div height will be smaller than actual size.[code]and the html file can include anything such as video or images.I tried doing a .delay(1000) just to see if that would fix it but didn't seem like the delay was working.How would I properly set the overlay div height to the content div height AFTER the images have been loaded?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to know if there is a possibilty to check with JQuery if an image can be loaded or not? Because when an imgae can't be loaded the Jqzoom should not work, because the big image (which is for the zoom) could not be loaded. Imagin I have hundreds of pictures, how can I check if this big image could be loaded or not?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a set of divs on my portfolio page that all share the common class 'module', with an additional class that determines the background image.I currently have this function that I thought would keep each instance of .module hidden until it had loaded:
$('.module').ready(function(){
$('.module').fadeIn('9000');
});
I'm not certain but I think the 'ready' only refers to the HTML content and ignores the fact that the background image (defined in css) isn't ready.Is there any simple way I can make each div stay hidden until the background is loaded, then perform show() or fadeIn()???
The page in question can be found at http:[url]....
I'm trying to fade a large background image in after it's loaded, here's the JS:
Code:
//the image is contained in a div with the id of "stage"
$(document).ready(function() {
$('#stage img').hide();[code]....
This works fine in Firefox/Chrome but not in IE8 (I haven't tried the older versions yet).
I need to fadeout an image after a delay when a page is loaded, then redirect it to another page.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am using the code below to load a resource via AJAX that contains a <ul id="photoCollection"> . That list has an image in each of its <li> tags. This markup and images are getting loaded as expected into the target Div#photoCollectionWrapper.
$('#photoCollectionWrapper').load('/photo_collections/1/photos', photosLoaded());
Once the images are loaded into the target div with AJAX I need to select them so I can alter their widths and heights. So far, I have been unable to select them as expected once they are loaded. However, If I just load them in a new page with NO AJAX, then buy using a simple .load() event handler I am able to select them after they have completely loaded as expected. No problem.
But when loading the resource via AJAX I am unable to select them at all. I am using a callback that gets fired after the AJAX is loaded. Then in there it seems "logical" to call my .load() handler on the images loaded in via AJAX. Here's a sample of some code just to illustrate the idea. The code below actually will not run at all. If I remove the .load() bit it will, but then Alert always returns null.
function photosLoaded() {
$('#photoCollection li img').load(function() {
alert($('#photoCollection li img').height());
}
}
I have also tried many css selector variations to try and select the target images, but to no avail. I know for sure photosLoaded() is getting called. I just can't select the elements that the AJAX call brought in.
I tried something like:
$('img').load(function() { /*code*/ });
it will work?
I'm just starting my first jQuery project (tutorial from this months Web Designer) and I've got a background image that I want to spread across the entire background, regardless of browser size. It's big, so I originally had an onload function. This works fine in Mozilla and Safari but not in IE.
My question is, can jQuery set a width and height of 100% and have it work in IE?[code]...
I have a strange issue with jQuery while using the following code :
$("#image").append('<img src="'+json.filename+'" id="cropje" alt="None" />');
$('#cropje').load(function() {
alert($(this).width());
}) .error(function(){
alert("FAIL TO LOAD IMAGE");
And the result is : 0 But it looks like the image gets loaded after the alert... How is that possible?
I need to get image height without using .attr and add it to div style. I got something like that but it's not working.
<img alt="photo-current" src="images/galleries/1/photo_1.jpg" id="photo-current"/>
<script type="text/javascript">
jQuery(document).ready(function($) {
[code]....
I am trying to do something with a sprite image, which is changing the height of it when an action button is clicked. The sprite image is 602x5485px. For clarity here's the link [url] and here's the image [url] and when the "Run sequence" button is clicked the height of the background image is supposed to change (each image is 602x399) so I need to add another 399px to move to the next one. The sequence will run till the last picture and then come back so that it gives a kind of movie animation (so in brief adding 399px till it reaches the last pic and then removing 399px till it gets to the first one).
Here's the html page without the script:
HTML Code:
And here's the css just for the sprite image:
Code:
Ok let's get to the script now (which won't be an external file but within the html page, I separated it temporarily for the sake of clarity). What the script should do, I think, is to get the background image which is in the css, and change the css background position adding - as said - 399px. When it gets to the end, remove 399px till it gets to the first image.
So in practice here are my last (believe me of many!) attempt:
Code:
I am not sure whether this is correct but I am not quite sure how to continue. The thing is, I want to change the height of the background image as said and the above should change at least one image but it doesnt work. If somebody has the patience to talk me through that (I am a beginner so I would like to attempt to build the code myself.
I want to activate an image slider that is placed in a div loaded through an Ajax request. I'm using the JQuery Plugin Anythingslider. I've tried to use code similar to this without success:[URL].. The slide script works if loaded together with main page.But how do I activate a slider placed in a div that has been loaded through an Ajax request?
