View 1 RepliesI'm just restating my "site abandonment" post but with a clearer title as I realized it probably only made sense to me and me alone.
I have window that pops up with our commerce system. I have it set to pop up a window via JavaScript if the visitor quits early in the process (abandons the commerce system before completing all of the steps. The new popup is just a customer survey ("why are you leaving, is there something else we can help you with" etc. etc.).
Here's the problem, it works fine in IE, but in Firefox, anytime the page in the original commerce window is changed, refreshed or advanced to a new page, the survey popup window is called rather than just on window close.
Again, here's the two JavaScript routines that handle clicks on the graphical close button and on the window 'X' close button. Code:
why the following works in FF but not ie 7?
$('<p>Test</p>').insertAfter('#Customer tbody>tr:nth-child(2)');
Objective is to read from ticker.xml, parse, and set the html of headline1, headline2, headline3, etc. divs to the values of ticker.xml. This works great in IE 8 and FF but not in Chrome.
<script type="text/javascript">
$(document).ready(function()
{
$.ajax({

I am completely lost here. My page is code...
The first checkbox should spawn a menu and then the "breast" option could spawn another. It works flawless in IE9. But in FF 3.6 the first checkbox simply does nothing. In Chrome, it spawns the menu, but strangely the checkboxes in the next menu are not clickable.

I'm trying to use the jqmodal dialog plugin and everything is working OK except for one minor problem. It seems when I click on the link, the expected action does not occur until I click the second time. Essentially I set up a small test form with a single line put into a table. In that data line is an href, which when clicked calls an AJAX function and returns text, which displays as a dialog. Like I said, this works fine except for the fact that the dialog does not show until the second time I click on the link. I added an alert box to the code, so I know the function is executed the first time the link is clicked
<script>
$().ready(function() {
$("#hrefClick").click(function(e) {
e.preventDefault();

I've been building a site that will rely very heavily on ajax calls to save server load and to spice things up a bit. So, so far I've successfully made several different ajax calls in Firefox. I'm mainly using the following code

I have an issue with the append function. It works on chrome and firefox but not ie.This is my code:
$('a#ajouterTarification').click(function() {
$("#append_tarification").append($("<div>").load("./server/hotels-ajouter-tarifications.php?i="+i).fadeIn(700));
[code]....
I don't know but I had a click event for a button but it works only once. So if I click that button works, my function works, if I click it again, it doesn't get executed again.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a select dropdown menu that I am trying to generate dynamically.

What I would like is if the Psychology option is selected then it would show the Psych Divisions and hide the Education Divisions and vise versa. Then from the divisions you can select the location and then term. Basically a dynamic dropdown that hides the selects until specifically called.
I love the custom datepicker. It works and does not inhibit Spry in Firefox(3.6) and Chrome(10). However, it is notworking in IE (9,8.7), Safari (5) or Opera(11) with Spry Validate also inoperative - unless I remove the scripts calling the datepicker...then validate works, but the datepicker does not, of course. I do not use Spry Validate on date/datepicker field.This is way over my thick head.

I have a dialog that opens from inside a tab. Everything works great until I change tabs and come back. the second time I visit the tab and open the dialog my javascript does not work.I can retrieve the data from the form but its the old data from the last time it was open.the ajax does not submit and if I try debugging with firebug I see this error:[code]
When I close the dialog I am only using $(this).dialog('close');I read that I need to use remove in addition to close or destroy;so I have tried using :$(this).dialog('remove');$ (this).dialog('close');as well as destroy and I get the same results.
Trying to replace text in a different div on a focus and change it back on blur. The first replace works, however the second doesn't. If I just comment out the focus then the blur works.[code]
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am not really sure where to start with this as my function works perfect in IE 6. However when I select one of my categories and hit submit in Firefox or IE7 or 8 nothing happens. No error message. Just nothing. How can I get this working for firefox and IE7/8?

I have put the latest version of this at [URL] The page has download links for the files needed to reproduce this on another server.
I can click the next button and go forward until it reaches the last slide then it sticks. The Back button is also broken. This code works great with 1.3.1 and 1.2.6 but has the aforementioned bugs in 1.3.2....

Ok, So check out [URL].. The index jquery works fine on all three browsers (last I checked) Now go to [URL]..php or any other secondary page. The jquery has gone loopy and is not working! It seems my CSS partially works, my jquery does not work at all... totally lost on why my jquery is not activating.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've got this code to work the first time that the user changes the select option:
$('select.third, select.fourth').change(function(event){
var id = $(this).siblings('.hidden').text(),
token = $('#token').val();
param = $(this).hasClass('third') ? 'isSold' : 'isActive';
value = $(this).val();
$('div#allSheepDisplay').contents().remove().end().load(
'db-interaction/animals.php',{
action: 'update',
id: id,
token: token,
param: param,
value: value
}, function() {
$('select.third').filter(function(){return $(this).val() == '1'; }).css({backgroundColor: 'yellow'});
$('select.fourth').filter(function(){return $(this).val() == '0'; }).css({backgroundColor: 'red'});
}); });
Everything works as I expect - the POST request is made correctly, the database is updated and the display updates correctly. However, if I repeat the same action, selecting a different value, nothing happens until I refresh the page, at which time I can then make the change.
It concerns the load() method. I planned my website as 100% ajax enabled and therefore all content-elements are being loaded via jquery.Problem: Clicking on a menu-entry should load the specified content. This works 2 or 3 times and then the website crashes OR the performance goes rapidly down and I have to close the tab in my web-browser.Trigger for the load method (tried both, but they are causing the same problem)
$('#menu_home').click(function(){ loadSite('home'); });
$('#menu_home').live('click', function(){ loadSite('home'); });
Self-designed load() function:
// load links from menu
function loadSite(siteId){
// append loading animation

I've been trying to load some tags using .load. I was testing with Chrome and never got any results back - I just tried the same code with Firefox and it works - where's the problem ? Am I doing something "almost" correct, that firefox allows and chrome doesn't? I cannot see any errors in the console either
Here's the line:
$("#somediv").load("somepage.html #someotherdiv");
I know this is not supposed to be that way, but somehow that's the only way it works for me. First I include
<script type="text/javascript" src="jquery.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="fadeslideshow.js"></script>
where fadeslideshow.js is jQuery-based http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex14/fadeinslideshow.htm
But I also want to use jQueryUI, so I have to include it:
