There is a menu item list below it on to the left.And the content of the links of those menu item should get loaded in the center of the page.And a footer having some copyright info.All these are in div tags.
The problem is when i click on any menu item it should be loaded in the center div tag.Ive tried using Iframes but there is a scrollbar coming only in that area of center div tag.I don't wan't this to happen.Based on the size of the html page to be loaded the div tag size should increase, and so the whole page.Have tried using Ajax but not working.

JQuery :: Draggable Element Only Draggable And Visible Between Certain Coordinates?
Nov 3, 2011Is it possible to have a draggable div that will only be draggable between certain coordinates? in other words create a window through which the draggable div is visible and draggable. Would you use a stop drag when cursor hits a certain point? my div is a map and will be about 2000px by 2000px and want to have a fixed position and size of 500px by 500px so that that is all the user will see or be able to interact with. I know in image slider plugins that the divs scroll to the side or up and down through what appears to be a window so it should be possible?

Jan 7, 2010I got a, perhaps very easy or perhaps not solvable question about the droppable function, I could not find anything about this so far. I got a basket, and a couple of products. The products are draggable and the basket is droppable. This of course is done in the $(document).ready(function(){} and works fine.
Now I got a button "add new basket" and if the user clicks on it, Javascript generates a new basket like this

newbasket.setAttribute('id','basket2');
content.appendChild(newbasket);
}
And now of course the "basket2" div should also be droppable so that my products can be dropped there. But this does now work because the droppable + draggable settings were made in the "ready function" before the new "basket2" div was existing. Is there any way to perhaps reload the droppable + draggable settings that they also fit to the new basket or some other ways?

Basically what I would like to happen is have the drop boxes dynamically created. So I would have a <div> to have all the images in them. Then below that I'd like to display to the user a single drop box with a link to add another one and another one after that etc.
Is there a way to modify this code so that I can make the jQuery part of this dynamic in nature that if I add a new droppable <div> it would automatically allow me to drop images from my original <div> and still be able to move images from one <div> to another <div> after it's been created?

the first function(start: function ..) displays an attribute (title) of the dragged item once the sorting starts. supposedly, the second function (stop: function ..) would display the same attribute but of the item replaced by the dragged item once the sorting stops.
I have tried a lot of things already, but none seems to work.

However, if I drop the green draggable item into the visible area of the dropContainer, everything works allright. But if I drop it below the dropContainer, it is dropped on a invisible droppable item. I tried to fix that problem using a z-index property, but this didn't work.
Is there a way how I can prevent the invisible items to be droppable?

The problem is that when I get to the end of the list (e.g. there IS no next()), I want to skip this part of the code and actually hide the right arrow. Mar 10, 2010I am having problem with displaying data in fckeditor. I am opening clone dialogs that display forms from another page. Everything comes up fine but fckeditor is not displaying any data in it. This only happens on IE8, no issues on FF. If I view this page outside the jquery dialog everything works fine. So there is conflict between jquery dialog and fckeditor.

The JQuery version used in the book is 1.1.3a. With the clone(false) method the writer can clone only the matched element and not the descendants. And that works in 1.1.3a.I know that this is no longer the case in JQuery 1.4. Boolean is only for Event Handlers.But what is the new equivalent of this method? In other words. How can I clone an element with only the matched element and not it's descendants?

Then in the jQuery, I have tried many different ways of removing stuff from that clone, but with no luck. E.g.

$(cont).remove("copy_btn").appendTo("body");
There are no errors showing up in Firebug, but the html added to the bodu still contains the link with the id "copy_btn". Is this even possible? The api says that remove() will remove matched selectors from the DOM, so as this is just a set of elements is that the reason? If so, is there a way to achieve this, or would I have to append it somewhere on my page and then perform the manipulation?

I would like to create a button that, once clicked, will clone all the elements whose names end in "[]" (including labels, and select's options), giving them the same name (and possibly a different ID, but it's not important).
I am completely new to jQuery and almost new to javascript.
I came up with this code to clone the entire form:

Feb 12, 2010I've been searching this forum, Google Groups, and Stack Overflow this morning but I haven't been able to quite find a simple way to clone a LI element (that contains form inputs with data,) and erase the newly created/cloned LI's form inputs.
The function I'm using at the moment looks like this:

(All that is doing in the code snippet is checking to see what ID to assign to the new cloned LI item...)
