Main Gallery Image To Fade In When Thumbnail Clicked?
Sep 10, 2009I have a gallery consisting of thumbnail images and a big image...pretty standard stuff. Anyway i'd like the big image to fade in when a thumbnail image is clicked and can't find any tutorials on how to do this. I have found ready made galleries using jquery but thought there might be something i could do with my existing html/css. I'm new to javascript and wonder if someone can point me in the right direction? Is this more complicated than it appears to be?

Dec 19, 2011I have a gallery style page with rectangular images on laid out like a grid of nine. When the user looks at the page there is just the images and no information, but when they hover over the image I would like some text and a bar underneath to show up over the top so the user can read some information.my images sit in "a" tags. There is also a div tag in there which has it's z-index and position (absolute) set up so that it sits over the top of the image element in the "a" tag. stripped down e.g.

I need the div tag withinin the "a" tag to be set to 0 opacity. When the user hovers over the image the div tag slowly fades in to 100% opacity. Once the user moves the mouse away from the image the div tag slowly disappears again.I need each one to work independently so that it only changes the one currently being hovered over.
JQuery :: Fade In / Fade Out Poor Rendering In ALL Browsers
Feb 15, 2010I'm having problems with my text appearing aliased and turning blue when it fades in and out. I've tried using the Newsticker plugin and the Easyticker plugin, and I'm getting the same result in IE7 and Firefox 3.6. I'm using jQuery 1.2.6-min Specifying a background color doesn't fix it. The examples on the plugin websites look fine, but when I try and implement the effect myself, my orange text becomes aliased and fades to a light blue color before dipping to white. Same thing happens on the fade in. attached is a screenshot of what I'm seeing.

JQuery :: Get A True Cross-fade, Not The Sorta Cross Fade Used By Default?

The cross fade option used by default with cycle is not a linear one...it looks like it uses some kind of S curve because during the crossfade animation the background (meaning the area behind the images being cross-faded) becomes visible. Jquery :: Fade In Fade Out Menu/sub Menu?
Feb 14, 2010i want to use jquery to make a fade in/ fade out menu / sub menu structure. the structure works, the only this is that when i hover from the topic to the corrisponding submenu the submenu fades out and back in.how can i stop that? the function .stop() doesn't work, it will give me other problems, like if you hover from menu to sub menu over and over the opacity of the sub menu will get to 0 and then i need to reload the page.

Jun 2, 2011I've got a website that displays all my products together within a table and the user can then click on the product they want to buy or obtain more info on. This is always displayed in four columns.
However if you have a few pages of products for one category it can be displayed across a few pages. For some reason the content management system I use will display only 1, 2 or columns on the last page if there are less than 4 products on the last page. When this happens you can get the produts displayed with a different width to what I've set within the CSS because the table's with is set to 100%.
When this happens is it possible to set the the width of the table to:
75% if there are 3 columns
50% if there are 2 columns
25% if there is only one column
Or is it possible to keep the width of the table at 100% and just add the extra columns if there are not 4?
The table id="catprods_tbl" and the columns (td) are is set to id="column_main"
I have included the example of the layout when there are only two columns on the last page.

Help! I Can Not Get Fade-in Or Fade-out Of Opacity In IE

other. Instead, they hesitate, which is annoying, and then jump from
one image to the other, suddenly, with no fade.
Can anyone tell me why that is? Does IE not recognize opacity?

What is happening is there are some matches for a script I made and then an area for segments during an event. If you notice on the segment part of the form is that there is a dropdown that asks for where in the event that segment needs to go. With the Introduction or the different numbered matches. What I need to happen for a subArray I need it to take the introduction, all the matches, and all the segments and order them accordingly. With the introduction first, the matches in order based off there match number and then the segments in between the introduction or matches based off the user's input.

JQuery :: Make A Two Part Navigation Menu (main/sub Category)
Jun 4, 2011My goal right now is to make a two-part navigation bar where you don't have to reload the whole site, when you click on a link. The navigation bar consists of two <ul> lists with <li> float:left and <a> display:block, so I basically have two lines. It's probably easier to understand if you see it for yourself: jsfiddle (had to change the css style, because I use .less but it works)
When you load the page it's just like that, you have your main category (A,B,C,D,...) and the sub-category (A1,A2,A3,...). What I want: If you click on B, the sub category changes to B1,B2,.... If you click on a sub category the site loads the requested page (with ajax = best solution?!)
My thoughts
At first I thought about just changing the name and href attribute of the second list, but the main categories have different amounts of sub categories, so I would need to add or remove <li>'s. Then I thought about using .load() but I somehow screwed up (of course) and the loaded <ul> doesn't have any css style (wrong order?) and I can't see anything. (with a loaded test.html site containing only the word "test" it worked) Is ajax "overkill" as a solution?
CodeIgniter and the URL
I use CodeIgniter (a PHP framework) for the website and URLs like this: www.example.com/maincategory/subcategory (e.g. example.com/A/A3) That's no problem at all, if I don't use any javascript and reload the whole site every time. But is it possible to change the URL with jQuery when the user clicks through the navigation bar? You click on B, the URL changes to example.com/B all the subcategories change to B1,B2,...When you click on B2 the URL changes to example.com/B/B2 and the site loads the requested page (I guess with ajax, so the navigation stays the same?!)
Minor problem: when you load the site, click on B, then B3 for example, you would get the url example.com/B/B3. If you now save this link, close the site and reopen it with the link, CodeIgniter would load the right site and everything, but the navigation would show A1,A2,.. in the sub category.
Hover vs click
Almost every page where I saw this kind of menu they used hover to change the sub category. But I thought click would be better, so you don't have to avoid touching B,C,D,.. if you want to go from A to A9 for example. Only downside is that you have to click before you see the sub categories.
Summary
A two part navigation menu you can use without reloading, changing URLs (when possible) and probably ajax to load the actual content.

JQuery :: Reloading Main Video After Clicking On Thumbnail Images
Feb 7, 2010I've hit a little bit of a road block developing this site: [URL]. I'm attempting to use the thumbnails to load a new video in the main object. I've used this:

To replace the attributes in the object, but at this point, the source has the new arguments, but it needs to reload as the actual element still contains the old video. Should I somehow use AJAX to refresh this div? Should I reconstruct my jQuery somehow?
