Currently it's bound to a cache file on my hosted server, But if I could prefetch data to the browser I'm thinking it's faster. The site is done in ASP.NET.

I have to create a dynamic html block that can hide and show text, anchor tag is used to hide/show the block, which is also dynamically generated, so I have to call anchor's tag click event using live function, but within that click event I have to look up for immediate next div control which will hide/show. my code is somewhat like below I am comment the line of code which is not working

I am using the autoupdate plugin. I have a listbox(asp.net control ) just below the autocomplete textbox. In IE6, the autocomplete menu goes behind the asp.net control. This happens only in IE6. It works fine in IE7.

Does anyone have a library or patch to call a handler if a user leaves an autocomplete field without choosing one of the autocomplete options - i.e. they've entered free text. I'm working with an app that populates multiple fields from a single auto-complete value, and our latest requirement is to clear out a bunch of fields if the user's entered something manually - rejecting autocomplete suggestions. My initial attempts at hooking into onkeyfoo and onblur haven't lead anywhere productive, and I'm hoping someone else has managed to overcome the gnarly event and timing dependencies involved with onkeyfoo and blur being used for standard autocomplete behaviour.

In other words, I click on a button, and this tells jquery to load afragment of a particular page into my main page. For instance if I have 5 web pages onrock stars, I could have 5 buttons, and each button could load one rockstar's biography into a div on the main page (and replace whatever was there before). This works, and I do see the content that it loaded. But when I do 'view source' in IE, I do not see that content (the bio of the rock star). Another clue that this content is not really there, is when I try and run some code on that content. The content (from those external pages) have divs with specific names, and I try and make them into collapsible panels by running the following short function:

recently i noticed that all of my embedded JavaScript code and external style sheets are being shown IN "view source."
this happens in all browsers ( IE, FF, Chrome, and Safari [windows]) ... oddly enough it only happens when viewing on my vista or win2k3 machines. is this something added to these OS's or the result of an installed program? has anyone seen this before?
I have a website that I frequently visit (FWIW, Firefox 3.x is my browser of choice) with many image sources referring to URLs that end with "-thumbnail.jpg". However, for better image quality, I am trying to use Greasemonkey to replace all instances of "-thumbnail.jpg" in the source of images on this site with "-bigthumbnail.jpg". The closest I could think of was to somehow use getElementsByTagName and innerHTML.replace, but realized that innerHTML does not do HTML, only content.

Situation:I have a very long page divided into many sections vertical-wise marked by bookmarks, say pageX.html#s1 to s10. I need to show the section inside an iframe (iFrame1) on the mainpage (mainpage.html). I'd like to have a hyperlink on a page, that when clicked reveals some hidden text below the hyperlink AND at the same time opens a new browser window to a specified URL (which would have been declared in the HTML code NOT the jQuery bind code). There will be several of these 'Click here to reveal password and open site' hyperlinks on the page. Will this scenario cause a problem in the sense that if you click on one hyperlink then all of the reveals would be triggered and numerous windows would be opened?

I am not seeing the JavaScript alert though.
I've noticed I can bind and trigger events on objects that are not DOM elements. However this appears to be an undocumented feature, as the docs explicitly refer to the "DOM element" when discussing things like event.currentTarget. Is it safe to depend on code like the example below working in future jQuery releases?
