JQuery :: Validate Form Multiple Languages?
Oct 27, 2011
I am creating a form that requires validation feedback in several languages. Is there an easy way to set this maybe with a variable or something?The form used for the different languages is always the same, everything is loaded in the correct language with a variable $lng. I just don't know how to do this for the validate plugin.What i could think of was maybe an include with a test if $lng == X and then include the correct javascript containing the rules and different messages for the different languages?

I have a Java-based web application whose interface can be in multiple
languages. My requirement is that the javascript alerts that I display
should be displayed in the language in which the interface has been
generated. The interface language is dynamically loaded and the text is
displayed using Java's <fmttags.
How can I make the Javascript alerts, etc. also change their display
language dynamically? Is it possible in Javascript or do I have to use
another technology to do the same?

I've many dynamic form on my current project. One if them have a two radio button, acting a little bit like tabs. If you select the first radio, the end of the form change to display the "branche #1", and if you select the second radio button, the end of the form change to display the "branche #2".
Let recap with dummy code:
And now I will have to make 3 validations:
1) The first one for the common field.
2) The second one, if buyer is selected.
3) The third one, if seller is selected.
So the code should look like:
But is seem that only my common fields get validated. How should I handle that situation ?

I have a form with multiple submit buttons.
<form action="" id="myForm" method="post">
<fieldset>
<!-- various input fields -->
<button type="submit" name="Exit">Exit</button>
<button type="submit" name="SaveExit">Save & Exit</button>
<button type="submit" name="Save">Save</button>
</fieldset>
</form>
When the SaveExit or Save buttons are clicked, the form is to be validated. When the Exit button is clicked, the form is NOT to be validated. How can I do this with the Validate Plugin 1.7 from [URL]. Is this possible?

I wanted to validate the credit card numbers (I know that's not necessarily safe but I'm living recklessly and we have SSL on this )...
I found some javascript methods but I already have an "onclick" event on my submit button (to make sure people agree to the cancellation policy)....
Is there a way to multitask and do all those things with one script?

I've a page that has 2 forms. If the user clicks the bottom form the validations appear and everything goes red but the Top form is a required field but it doesn't as it's a separate form. How can I validation form0 and form1 together to show to the user the required fields. When the user clicks form0 it goes over to a pagedLIst, the user returns and textfield gets populated with the product that as selected. So when they hit form1, that value gets passed through as a hiddenfield..
<form id="form0">
...text box input to search for your product, returns to this page populated the found product
<input class="button" id="FindProduct" type="submit" value="Find Product" name="action"/>

I see it working in the demos I found this documentation
You can avoid having to duplicate the plugin settings by modifying the defaults. Use $.validator.setDefaults({…}) to override multiple settings at once.
But I do not understand what I have to do to make this work

I have a textarea which the user can enter whatever text he chooses.
<TEXTAREA id=body name=body></TEXTAREA>
I would like to avoid supporting HTML tags in this textarea at the
moment, therefore I use the following HTML encode support:
Dim p_Body : p_Body = Server.HTMLEncode(Request.Form("Body"))
This works fine if I write text in latin characters (in English) - than
only the HTML tags are encoded.
But if I write text in other UTF-8 chars (e.g.: Hebrew) - all the text
is encoded, and it becomes unreadable.

I have created a large form with jQuery that only shows up when a link is clicked (sort of works like a lightbox). Without the jQuery validation (which I made because the plugin never worked) the form submits fine. The same set of validation scripts works fine on a form that is placed directly into the HTML (not created by a script). I have found that I have to put the Close Button script inside of the function that creates the form, otherwise it wouldn't work.My question is, where do I put my validation script for it to work. I have tried to put it inside of the "create form" script with the Close Button AND outside of it. There are plenty of ways around this, I know, but I want this to work for my own learning purposes.[code]...

I have a asp.net web form that I need to validate before submitting. I've tried the AJAX Control Toolkit but I was having problem with multiple ValidationSummary control conflict. So, my next option I can think of is to use jQuery. First of, how do I test to see if a textbox is blank or not? If blank, output a message to a asp.net Label control on the page and stop the web form submission. Second, if the validation succeeds, proceeds to submitting the web form.

Ok, this is my last resort, as I've been working on this for a while and am completely stumped. I'm probably just doing something stupid that I haven't noticed, Essentially my problem is this: on this website I'm developing, users can submit photos for a monthly contest. I'm using the Lightbox plugin with prototype and script.aculo.us to display winners from the past few months, and the Validate and Form plugins for jQuery to display a form where users upload their pictures. Thus, I have this in the head of my document:

I know that this must be quite trivial to most of you, but my skills
in JavaScript are weak.
I am looking for a way to validate all forms throughout a website
through one validation script.
How do I determine the form's name (or id) value to implement
conditional validation?
i.e. if (form1) { validate like this }; if (form2) { validate like
this };
